It's amazing. Just buy it and see for yourself. If you don't like it, return it.
So far there's nothing I don't love about it. Stock is great; I only rooted to get OTG, full file control, and ad blocking. I doubt I will flash a custom rom or kernel.
Don't be too discouraged by people posting about defects. This is the kind of place people come to post and discuss that kind of thing. If you have the bad luck to get a bad unit, you can exchange it.

Best tablet on the market regardless of price? That's a bit optimistic. It's arguably the best 7" tablet, but there are plenty of larger tablets that out-spec it.

Also, if your planning to root it, you gotta connect it to your computer to boot into recovery from the bootloader

There are no bugs to speak of that affects ALL Nexus 7. If you get a newer stock you should be fine. My Nexus 7 was perfect until today (one month after I bought it) and the speaker blew so everything sounds crappy. I am sending it to ASUS and hopefully they will either fix or replace it. I still highly recommend this product.

Guys I m new in the forums so please bare with me..I was about to place my order for nexus one it was sold out,,now I don't clearly know the reasons why they stoppd selling it..but couldn't get a good deal anywhere,in amazon its about 600-650$ .is it worth the buy?as I have a feeling froyo my be last update for nexus and no more..and suggest me some good alternatives please..
Sent from my GT-I5700 using XDA App
Froyo will NOT be the last update for the nexus, gingerbread won't be last update for nexus either
But good alternatives, I would say samsung galaxy s, but don't expect updates from samsung, froyo prob will be last update for galaxy s, it will be the community that provides updates on it
Motorola looks like it will lock down all of its future android phones, so I can't recommend them
Any new htc android will be the best choice I think

Support for a costly product which I get to buy once in a while is must,,galaxy s is a real good phone but without a smooth interface and I don't expect frequent bug fixes from Samsung(I use a galaxy spica I hate samsung for no updates), how about the htc desire?
Edit: saw some videos about no multitouch but only 2 finger support (pinch to zoom only)for nexus and desire, and the faulty multitouch on both devices,do they really matter in real usage?

And should you buy a Nexus One? All I will say is this:

I don't think any phone is worth that much.
I did TONS of shopping around and waiting and ended up getting a Nexus One for 350 through Craigslist.
I'm insanely happy with my buy, but if you need one ASAP, just register as a Dev

Honestly I would probably spend that much for the nexus simply cause I think its the best on the market still simply because its the Google developer phone. Clean vanilla android, updates right from Google, will get gingerbread, and its the best build quality still out there.
Or buy mine currently in the XDA Market forum.
I'll happily ship anywhere

is there a way to get HTC desire in Canada
Hello,
Is there a way to order and get HTC desire in Canada?
I will be interested to get this one (HTC sense is a cool option to have)
Phil
Hey I just need some advice here.
I got a friend who wants to trade me a
Nexus one with cyanogenmod7 on it.
I have a g2 that's rooted also with cyan.
My question is with my g2 I get about a gig of
Internal memory I know with the nexus is doesn't have much memory.
Should I stay with the g2 with more internal memory or should I move to the nexus.
Has anyone else done this trade with anyone?
I would like some pros and cons that would help with my decision.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Honestly, id keep the G2. Second gen snapdragon rapes the first gen (which the nexus has) in CPU and especially GPU department. Now if you want something without a kb then thats personal preference. The Nexus will always have the advantage being a native google phone, but in terms of hardware its a downgrade imo

I agree, I have both too, and I really like the track ball of the nexus one; also the flashing multicolored notification lights are really nice. Another plus of the nexus one are those three dock pins on the bottom for the desktop dock. I really love that feature, why don't more manufactures implement this. I was kind-of thinking of drilling in some holes and wiring it up on the g2 but had second thoughts.

As an owner of an NS since day 1 of BB release I highly recommend you spend your money on ANY non samsung smartphone. Nexus S being no exception. I've been hanging on as long as I can for an ICS device although now looking at the UI I'm strongly thinking about going Verizon and Bionic. I can't wait to relinquish my NS. What a POS.

Once the boards are riddled with new ROMs that really push this hardware, thats when my fun really begins. For now, I'm going to run stock for a couple months to give the development community some time to cook up some awesomeness.

Buying more accessories for it than I need. Cables, cases, batteries, chargers, screen protectors, etc... till I figure out which ones I like best and use most often, then the rest will stay in a box as spares.

I went with the HTC one s I've only used it for a day and so far my impressions. Beats audio sound is excellent, cameras is quick and beautiful, quadrant scores of about 5200, speakerphone is loud, battery is pretty darn good. But software... Definitely needs a custom rom. Lol why bother with the question you ask? I pretty much chose the one s because spec wise it is superior to the nexus BUT software wise the nexus will have the latest and greatest from Google.... What would you have done?
