That kernel should have loopback, if you are meaning /dev/loop devices . If you mean something else please explain what you mean by loopback.

Why is this not in the question section?

[Q] StupidFast v1.2.3 kernel version

Just flashed StupidFast v1.2.3 kernel through CWM and rebooted. Phone came up... how do I tell that I am actually running that kernel?
You can look in set cpu. There are details that will tell you the kernel info.

Yes. Geeknik tagged his kernels so you will see geeknik somewhere after the base kernel version. I believe the date/time thats in the tag is the build time as well, so you can kind of get an idea of what geeknik kernel you are running (it looks like the 1.2.3 version was built around 4PM on the 16th)

working tun.ko for Insanity v0.6.3

Any chance that someone could directly me to a tun.ko that works with this rom? I've search for hours and tried various compiled tun.ko. There should be one out there that works according to the threads.
Thanks! Appreciate any help.

There was a response saying that the SO kernel supports a tun.ko for openvpn. Insanity is running an SO kernel right? Or am I confusing something. Do I need to load a different kernel? Where would I get the supported tun.ko for a particular kernel? Thanks again

KERNEL CONTROLS HARDWARE, STORES DRIVERS ECT. 'FAUX' IS A MEMBER/DEVELOPER WHOM CREATED THE KERNEL.
2. Which is the most stable gingerbread based rom which has fingerprint unlock supports?
STOCK?;-) I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE, THAT'S WHERE HOURS OF READING COMES IN HANDY
3. can you overclock turls CM9 rom?
THIS ROM USES FAUX'S KERNEL -NON GB. THE KERNEL IS ALREADY OVERCLOCKED. THIS ROM HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH NEARLY COMPLETE, IS STILL IN ALPHA/BETA STAGE. THERE MY BE NON-FUNCTIONING PARTS TO IT.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU SOME

i9000 ICS runing on 2.6.35.X kernel

Hi,
I'm looking for ICS ROM for i9000 running on kernel 2.6.35.7 or 2.6.35.14. Also interested about kernel sources. If you know ROM like this just tell me. Thanks a lot.
I don't think this is possible, because kernel 2.6.35 is missing some features from the upstream kernel which are required by ICS. Also I'm wondering, why you would prefer an older kernel over a newer one?
I need kernel 2.6.35 for different device. Want to use i9000 kernel as a base.
U won't find any with lower than 2.8.x+ kernel.

There is no 2.8 kernel. Last 2.6 kernel was 2.6.39, after that came 3.0. But 3.0 is not really a major update, it's essentially 2.6.40, but Linus thought the numbers get too high so he named it 3.0 instead of 2.6.40.
