I have my tablet at home and I share it with my family members. Is there anyway I can get gmail to ask for password each time I want to access it and still be able to check for new mails and sync in the background?
Try facelock https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facelock4appspro
Or any app lock app

Hi all
Sorry if this is not an appropriate place to ask, but please let me know of somewhere more suitable if not.
I've got two google accounts bound to my N1. One is a google apps premier account (which I use for email sync) and a normal googlemail account (which I use for calendar and contacts sync).
I use Gtalk on my desktop PC's for the first account (premier apps) and not on the second one, however when I fire up Gtalk on my N1 it is using the second account and not the one I want! I have not found an option to change this behaviour.
Does anyone know how to change which account Gtalk uses on the N1?
Thanks
Android will use the account you entered first. I entered my google apps account first then the gmail account and if I now try to remove the gmail account it says I can't. This is because android has bound the gmail account to the services not supported on google apps accounts.

Hm. I added my gmail account first and then the gapps one. I too found that if I try and remove an account it wants me to factory reset my phone and lose all data/config! This is pretty crappy.
I'm hoping someone can come up with a hack or something to change this behaviour regarding gtalk as I certainly don't want to reset my phone simply to get gtalk working.
I think a reset is the only way for now :-/
This is really poor. Google have slipped up somewhat with annoyances like this
hmm... i've the same problem .. then all we can do is wait
My current workaround is to use the eBuddy application, which is working just fine.
Probably off topic, but has anyone had complaints from their regular buddies about the phone causing frequent disconnects/reconnects to their chat client? One of mine got so annoyed by the alerts that he has cut me off... (using pidgin with my primary gmail account)
(I'm guessing that it happens when I'm connected via wi-fi and voice calls come in... ? ) Does anyone have any settings suggestions for either 1) staying connected or 2) having it just wake up when needed?
I think you can go into Manage Applications in Settings, hit menu and then filter, then select All. Clear the data for Gapps and Gmail, and then reboot. If you do it right, it should ask you to login again like it did when you first turned your phone on. Login with whichever account you want to use Gtalk with.
Hello guys, I lost my password of yahoo mail, but fortunately my password is stored on my WP7 HD 2 phone, it automatically updates emails and working well. When I am checking my password field on mobile phone, it just shows black circles and I can't detect my password. As regards password restoration, it is impossible, because I don't remember my security question answer. Please help me. )))

Why don't you try to log into your Yahoo account on a regular PC browser and try to retrieve your forgotten password? If you've forgotten your security answers contact Yahoo support. No other way around it. BTW...what happened to your alternative email account you're supposed to have set up when you first opened your Yahoo account?

I have tried but they ask me security question, which answer I have not remembered. When i was creating yahoo e-mail I have not alternative e-mail. Otherwise, I have logined in my WP7 phone 1 month ago and e-mail is working very well. I think that, if someone will help me to pick up password from my wp7 phone. Could you answer me there can I detect my passwords from my wp7? I have installed touch explorer, but I can't find anything. :|||
How do i keep my gtalk and gmail from automatically signing in. i want to enter my password each time.
am i missing something with this.
My work has decided to switch to Gmail. I need to bee able to see my personal e-mail and my work email in separate in boxes on my home screen.
I have added account to try this but the in box continues to come up the same as my original personal email account.
This 50% of what I do with my 7 so it is a pain in the butt.
You have to add a separate account in the settings for personal and work mails...
Then add a gmail widget and when you do it , there is an option to decide which gmail inbox or any other mail folder u want to see..
You can add as many widgets for as many mails you want...
If you consider doing this as pain in the butt then I am sorry...
I dont know anyother OS out there that would let you do it so well...
I use to do this. Simply set both through the gmail app, then download a gmail email unread widget. When you add the widgets it asks you which accounts to connect to and done! This is great because this way you get e,ail unread counters per accounts on separate icons.

Hello,
The Email app have access to my Gmail contacts emails.
I want to separate the personal life with the Email app and work with my gmail account.
Because, actually, I can send an email to my coworkers emails and I don't want to be possible.
I want to remove it, how can I do it ?

I haven't tried that and at the moment I don't have my S8 with me, but tap and hold on your email app and when context menu comes app, tap "app info". There look for permissions and see what is turned on or off. This is just the theory and this is what I would first try to do.
Hello,
Thanks for the tip.
I'll write 5 mains email address each time I want to send one.
