Hello Nook Color Owners!
I am currently a Owner and regular on the Nexus 7 forums and am starting to develop ROMs and apps.
My freind has a Nook Color running on 1.4.3, never rooted before.
I was wondering what is the best root method for 1.4.3 for the Nook Color that is fairly easy (don't want to worry him)
THanks in advance!
I too would like to know this.

Use ManualNooter 5.02.19. Just look in Nook Color Development thread.

OK wasn't sure if it was going to work since I am on v1.4.3 software.
Will check it though and thanks for help.

Sounds great! So this does work on 1.4.3? Just want to make sure.

I read through the thread and it appears to be working. Just follow the instructions/watch video.

What android version is your tablet running?

then read...and read...and root!
Mate, this a developers forum, theres help available BUT you are expected to use your own noggin first... Read a bit then, if you're not sure, ask questions. It'll get you more help in a nicer manner than just going "I'm looking root my tablet thanks for your help "...
This approach will generally get you flamed instead... I'm amazed you weren't just totally ignored...
Just got new update time root thanks for your help

It's good to know that you found it, now how about sharing what you've found with the rest of us? That's kinda the point of these forums!
I haven't found any one click root options for the a500 on ICS yet. Would be nice to know if there is one.
What a useless post without sharing your findings.
Maybe they are referring to this:

It was originally done for the leak but [reading on to around apr 21st [page 9]] it might work for OTA. If anyone tries it, post back.
Hello, can't find an answer for this problem. Can anyone help. I have a lot of problems with ICS on Toshiba Thrive, can someone give me a tutorial how to go back to Honeycomb. I searched everywhere, but can't find nothing useful.
Im not suppose to be promoting this but it looks like you're not gonna get help here go to thriveforums.org find dalepl and message him

I could use some help as well. I just want to be able to root and install the new CM10 Rom that is out there. The OTA ICS update has made my tablet almost unusable. Anything you can do will be appreciated.

If you know where the development is for that cm10 ROM then look there for your answer. As it goes off xda I won't mention it here.

If you're on hc still you can use any of the pre rooted ics roms as well as cm10 if you want.

Because the tools involved are dangerous and cause permanent damage to the emmc, the method isn't especially difficult, but the tools are just to dangerous to let loose.
So a guide can be done up, but without the tools available to everyone its kind of pointless lol

Hey, haven't really posted here before and sorry for asking a question that's probably been asked a million times, but I've just had an information overload today.
I rooted my Nexus 10 today using the CF Auto Root, which also unlocked my bootloader. I won't really be tampering with much on the device as the main reason I wanted to do it is to use my PS3 controller to play games. My question is, what do I need to do with my device still to ensure it doesn't encounter any difficulties with the root?
Sorry again for the basic question, and thanks in advance!

No it's all fine. And since it is a Nexus it's unbrickable.. Or you have to do something really stupid.. You can fix it almost always.

If something does go very wrong, just restore the factory images. Welcome to the wonderful world of rooting!

I just picked up this tablet today, and would love any tips and tricks you all have to offer! Been an Android user since Cupcake, and this seems almost like the pinnacle! lol

I have rooted all of my Android devices since the OG Milestone, so I know my fair share of commands. I'm waiting to set up a build environment, so I can get the kernel work I started in finished!
Thanks for the tip though!
