Nexus 7 gapps won't work - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got AOKP 8/15 flashed and it works fine without gapps, but any gapps package I flash boots into recovery every single time. Is there a special set of gapps I should be using? (Formula 84's custom gapps allow the rom to start, but certain features force close)
Also, yes, it's the grouper aokp, I clean flashed, and I've tried all the quick fixes.

[Q] CM 11 Issues a plenty

Verizon VS980, TWRP 2.6.3.3
Finally, upgraded to the above TWRP, and was able to flash a CM 11 nightly. and Gapps for 4.3.0, 20130813 and to have that finally flash successfully is great! BUT it's not, when I boot into it I get an android system error and the keyboard AOSP error every time, I can't make it past the screen where I enter in my account.
I have wiped and tried again, and again, I have installed the ROM and gapps and then wiped dalvik and cache and same result...
It seems so close.
I have installed ROM Manager as well and it says that CWM is installed yet I cannot seem to boot into it, I have flashed it from the ROM Manager many times and no love. I was able to flash a zip of twrp, is there a zip of CWM that is flashable from twrp, I have heard that cwm works better with CM 11
Please help, I have no idea why going to CM 11 should be such a pain in the..
Thanks!!!
SO i figured it out
I was following/using rootz wiki for my reference of which gapps to use and it is not updated right now
got the right gapps here, and all is good now

[Q] How to get Gapps onto CyanogenMod when its multibooted?

I decided to multiboot my device with CyanogenMod 10.2.1 and after realising it didn't come with the google play app I did my research and found out how to go about installing it.
I booted into recovery mode and installed the Gapps.zip from SD but it still doesn't show up at all in CyanogenMod.
I multibooted using Patcher App.
With CyanogenMod Nightly 10.2.1 into the first multiboot slot.
The gapps i tried to install should be the correct version for the cyanogenMod - Gapps.
and i'm using the ClockworkMod recovery to install gapps.
I believe it is probably installing it for my main OS.
Any ideas on what I can do to get the Google play store onto the OS?
I'm having the same problem, after updating my S4 I9505 to the latest stock Samsung 4.4.2 ROM, I installed the CM11 with the appropriate Gapps, but the apps are not working, after installing the Gapps only Gmail appears, and it doesn't even open the app, and also no option to add a Google account.... tried several different CM versions and several different Gapps version also.

[Q] PA Gapps not installing

When I attempt to install the PA gapps, it "succeeds" but when I restart into both Alpha 1 and 2, I have none of the gapps in the stock package. I am using the zip that @TKruzze provided for 5.0.1, but Alphas 1 and 2 are 5.0.2. Would this cause the gapps not to show up? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: It appears I was flashing things in the wrong order: I flashed gapps and then ROM (it's been a while ^^'), and also the gapps package was too large for my tiny Nexus 7's system partition.

What gapps package with AOSP roms?

What gapps package are you guys using with AOSP roms like AICP, CM etc. Mine getting stuck at 'preparing contacts storage' during boot after flashing open gapps arm64 packages. I tried nano, micro, stock.
It boots on the second attempts, but contacts doesn't sync. Any ideas?

Gapps...

What's the difference btwn GZR gapps and open gapps....
I have googled everything and get nothing...
After searching there is a new gapps confused me i.e., bean gapps
Please give me a clarity of these all gapps mainly GZR and opene gapps...
And also which gapps are better...?
GZR gapps is ground zero roms gapps. Some custom roms prefer gzr gapps than opengapps. The required gapps will be mentioned in the op of corresponding roms
As @william.johhn7! said....
GZR are Ground zero gapps.
Bean Gapps are also there.
As far as I understand they have difference in package building method which I don't know if affects the quality or performance much.
Open Gapps are mostly used but sometimes there are also some devs who tell you to flash specific gapps but even still I have flashed Open Gapps without any problem.
As for which Gapps are better It depends on your preference if you like all apps from google in your device or not. I always use Pico Gapps because we can always install any gapp we need from play store. And sometimes stock gapps can cause problems too which never happened with me btw.
And finally there is also another gapps called "Micro Gapps" which are not the Micro Open Gapps but something else. "Micro Gapps" doesn't have Any app of google. Not even play store. Basically It stared as a thought "Let's free pure Android form Google's bloatwares" As far as I know they will only sync your contacts from google nothing else will be there.
