Upgraded my 7.7 to ICS with P6800XXLQ2/P6800OXALQ2.
Quite happy :good:
Differences already noticed:
1. More pleasant graphic presentation
2. Much more responsive touch interface.
3. Speedier stock browser.
4. Louder sound over BT
5. System apps can be moved around and are not "anchored" anymore as the first apps in the first apps pages. They can be sorted to new positions (Applying AppZorter lite conveniently arranged them all alphabetically, not leaving the system apps icons anchored on the 1st page as it used to do with HC)
Now I have a even better best tab ...So cool...

6. Power management is now much more effective ---> Longer running times with one single charge.
Recommendation: use Apex launcher as main launcher. It takes a a while to configure, but once it's set up it flies (also check option to keep it in memory to prevent redraws). Unlike on my SGS3 I couldn't see any benefits in using Touchwiz, even the ICS version doesn't seem to add anything worthwhile.

I currently have FBReader, Moon+ Reader Pro, Mantano Reader Premium and the Kindle app loaded on my tab. Kindle & FBReader are free, the other two are paid (but have free versions).
My goto is Mantano, but since the upgrade to ICS it has a "press the back key once more to exit" loop on a number of Samsung devices - the tab 7.7 among them. Not a problem if you are happy to leave the app running in the background. All of these except the Kindle app allow you to keep your books on the SD card, which was one of my 'must have' requirements. They also all (except Kindle) allow you to add a network library location - handy if you have something running to serve your calibre (or other) library.
Probably best to try a few and see which you like (which is what I am still doing) - it will also depend a little on what format your books are in and whether they are DRM free or not.

Thank you for your suggestion.
However, Apex, in my personal experience, is much slower than GO Launcher HD. Its "Keep in memory" option in Advance doesn't have any notable improvement on speed.
Nevertheless, I still keep the Apex as it is having better transition options. The SPB like icons re-arrangement capability makes tidying up desktop easier.

I agree, the previous version was much better. Now it's loading for ages and is really more for phones than tablets.

They even removed the charts for a while because they were showing huge (really huge) drops in most applications (even the most popular ones). Charts are OK now, but installs in developer panel are still much off I think (they show different values than the charts and they doesn't seem to update - or maybe my apps are so unpopular, haha).
All this said I think it's not releated to the slow market application. It should be managed by different servers.
I've been using the 3.3.12 version because I wanted the music stuff that wasn't in .11 and I'm very happy with that version. I know I found it here on XDA by using the search function.

Within the last week I have been on vacation in Minnesota and my Dad has a Kindle Fire HD...after seeing how horrible the Amazon Homescreen is and all that can be done to help improve the device I decided to write an application that would help users perform general tasks on the Kindle Fire HD after rooting it that would make their experience better.
I have yet to test this on anything but the Kindle Fire HD. I know this will not work on the original Kindle Fire, but 2nd generation on up may be able to use this as well but I have not tested it as I don't have one of these devices.
I made two version, a free and a pro version. The free version will allow you to install a custom launcher and the Android market. Beyond that I'm asking for ~1.00 for the pro version (Well I get $1.00 anyways after Googles cut) to help development and buy me some StarBucks
Tip: long press on items to remove them from your device.

When you replace the launcher it breaks the kindle book app. You can install the play store version but you lose the built in book store. If you update the Kindle mobile app it breaks the Amazon store search. This is on the 8.9 BTW.

Thanks for the comments guys, I made some updates and uploaded the new version.
I bought the paid version even though I didn't need it (pretty much have Google and Nova fully installed already), but I'm looking forward to more options.
Just a suggestion, but maybe you could add more Google apps to it, like Google+? The Play Store pretends that Google+ isn't compatible so it won't allow you to download it, but it side loads just fine. There's a lot of apps like that, unfortunately, so maybe a build prop edit shortcuts could also be added, like one to mimic a more universally accepted tablet and one to quickly return to Kindle Fire HD for stubborn apps. These would obviously be for the paid version.
Also for the paid version, maybe you could add the voice search framework and apps too.
There's a ton of potential for this app, thanks for putting it together!

Just google the googleplay.apk download it to the device and open it with a file manager,
So,
as many of you may have already realised (see post here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36025159&postcount=39), if you are on a rooted JB 4.1.2 ROM, enabling multi window is just a matterof adding the app code to a system file (namely /root/syste/csc/feature.xml).
This is easy to do manually, but it'd be awsome if some willing developer could develop a very simple android app, where you get the list of installed apps and yoiu choose the ones for which you want multi window embaled.
I'd pay for such an app, and I am ready to be a beta tester
Anyone?

no that's not what I am talking about...
What I suggest is an app that lists all installed apps and at the same time reads the apps in the feature.xlm to mark thise already enabled for multiwindow.
The app allows to select/deselect the installed apps to add /remove them to/from features.xml
That would be a 2h job + testing, nothing fancy...
I'd really pay for that...
no need to flash anything with recovery or be deodexed...
just install the app...
only requirement is to be rooted to access feature.xml

This could not have worked more perfectly. This is exactly what everyone is looking for, I think. Thank you so much for your efforts! Do you plan on putting this on the Play Store?
I will mention that this app works flawlessly, but not all apps format perfectly. I tested about 30 apps, and about 3-5 of them either didn't work at all, or were barely functional. This still takes this tablet above and beyond where it was though.

I really like Dolphin and UC browser but both of them leave stuff running even after you've closed the app. If you look in settings, apps, running apps, you'll find that there are services and processes that are still running long after you've finished using the app. UC browser actually runs even after you've chosen 'quit' from the menu!
Boat browser is far better behaved and so is Chrome but Chrome has no full screen mode and Boat a little clunky to use.
Am I right in thinking that these running processes are using my battery?
I've emailed support for both UC and Dolphin about this and while they're quick to reply about other issues, they are both strangely silent about these running processes..
Can anyone suggest a browser that runs full screen and doesn't pound the battery?

Hmmm, it ran for me at once, but I guess that was cos I was using a custom ROM. Try one with Hybrid settings and compatibility view - Rootbox, PA or PACRom. Or maybe install it on your smartphone, and then try porting it through titanium backup, might work.

Maybe you can try “lightning browser”, its fast. However, in my own experience, i dont like the little options for me to choose and the full screen mode of it, coz in full screen mode I must scroll to the top and overscroll to bring-out the tabs which is not so convience in my view, but i think you might give a try.
P.S. The free version of this browser supports only 5 tabs and 5 bookmarks, plus version dont have the restriction
pay or g00gle it (seqrch for #APP_NAME apk) to get the plus version

Yeah, I totally agree with that! Its really annoying having to scroll all the way to the top just to access the menu etc. The search goes on..

You can always get the current version of Naked Browser from the web site here: http://nakedbrowser.com/android/
Dolphin had been phoning home all visited URLs to their server, even unencrypted https URLs which is a serious blunder. They're not the only ones pulling crap like this. Most Android browsers are spying on users in some way.
In response to this situation, I made Naked Browser. It will never spy or monitor in any way. There aren't even ads. It does not run on boot, does not phone home data, etc. It is just a web browser. If you use the exit button, it actually exits. If you return to your home screen, it goes to sleep and does not wake up unless you go back to it. Here's the XDA thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929663

Wow. Really love this browser. It's so fast and initial reactions are that it's really, really good.
Surely it should be available in the Play Store for N10 users?

Thank you!
I removed the app from a few countries because of low ratings.
Ocean browser. Smoothest thing I've ever used.

That's really nice too but isn't that one of the browsers that collects data and phones home?

Here's an analysis of the current Ocean Browser APK: http://mobilesandbox.org/xml_report_static/?q=356301
Some interesting items:
android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS
android.permission.USE_CREDENTIALS
android.permission.READ_LOGS
Execution of external commands
Cipher(AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding)

What does all that mean?

android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
It is not widely known but apps can query contact data without requiring the READ_CONTACTS permission in the manifest. Why would a web browser need to read your contact data?
android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS
android.permission.USE_CREDENTIALS
These could potentially be used by the browser to auto-login to Google but they could also be used for really evil purposes.
android.permission.READ_LOGS
Basically no app should have this privilege. All kinds of data can be gathered this way.
Execution of external commands
This is scary because it means the app may be extending its tentacles almost anywhere, especially if you are rooted.
Cipher(AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding)
They're encrypting data, presumably to phone it home. WebView-based browsers do not need to do this as the WebView component handles all encrypted traffic. This is something extra added by this app which may have a legitimate use but may also be phoning home data about users.
