Check the market. There are a couple of wireless backup apps. Not exactly sure how good they work though.

just create a .txt file open it in notepad or another app and save your passwords in it by typing them theres apps that will give you the password without root im pretty sure
my wifi recovery is one of them i think

My problem is how to find out what the passwords are in about a dozen networks that I log into from time to time.
I need to find out where these passwords are stored on the a500.
Every app I have seen requires root, which I don't have.
At this point I have very little hope I can do this.

1 get a note app
2 save all passwords
3 make a new folder on SD card and put the text files into there
4 look up when needed

Unrooted Xoom here.
Just found this app (thanks to a forum member!) and I'm wondering if I can use it to uninstall apps I don't want i.e Dungeon Defender.

Not sure but I know root explorer works.

I'd be curious why you don't just do so through the Market? Either way ES File Explorer is great -- I use it to manage files on my server both through FTP and my local network. Fantastic app it is!

You can get rid of anything in /system/app just by renaming it so it doesn't end in apk.

They don't show up as market downloads.

You can't remove system apps through the market.

My bad didn't read far enough! I just tried unrooted and it was unsuccessful. Back on the phone it was easy to do. Not sure if its the same as I'm waiting to root. But go to the menu, click manage, then apps. Again rooted may be a different story.

Don't you need root to be going around and messing with system files? Pretty sure you do, but I might be wrong.

I'd like sabnzbd for android, that way it could download straight to the device and repair/extract after the download finishes
GetNZB (from the Market) allows you to download nzbs from nzb.org and upload to an FTP server. I use it for uploading nzbs to my NAS which polls for nzbs in a specific folder then starts downloading.

I've got sabnzbd working on my xoom. I installed ubuntu using the guide on this forum (in android developments) once it was working a quick "apt-get sabnzbdplus"gets it installed. Then edit the /etc/default/sabnzbdlus to set the user as root.
Once its running connect to 127.0.0.1:8080 and it'll bring up the wizard.
Tada. ;-)
You can install transmisson this way as well with a quick "apt-get install transmisson-daemon" then connect to 127.0.0.1:9091

EZ Usenet guys. It is for Easynews if you have an account and you can download directly to your Xoom or android device. Works great...free version has 15 days of news and paid is of course more days..

Yep, I read that the standard version looks for an IMEI number that a tablet like this would not have, while the premium version does not check for that.

I followed the guide pretty everything but it didn't work out for me. The program updates all information in build.proc but not for the IMEI number. The pop up windows shows my SN, no MAC address and IMEI 00-SN, but after the adb it reboots and I found the IMEI still remains blank, XDA app still FC. Tried many times no luck. Please help.

Problem solved by updating the JAVA, realized the issue after reading the original OP carefully. Thanks the guide, it's wonderful.
I had the same problem with the XDA app Force Closing on my Rooted Kindle Fire, still on the stock ROM. Sounds like the easy fix is just to purchase the premium which I intended to do but had wanted to check out the free app first. If you guys say premium is working good then I'm going to get it.

I'm trying to hide some pictures from folders that I need from the Gallery app.. I used to do this by adding a ".nomedia"folder.. But since I got the galaxy s3 it doesn't seem to be working that way.. I can't delete the pictures or the apps won't work.. Does anybody have a fix for this.. Without downloading a application for it? Thanks for any help you can give me!

After you add the .nomedia file, clear gallery cache, reboot, and see if the pictures are there.

I just sent you a link in a private message with the nomedia file i created - maybe the one your creating has a permissions issue, so maybe if you download that one and put it in your directory, then clear the data and reboot it will fix your issue...
I had this problem too. Download hide it pro and you can set pics to not show in the gallery.
