any suggestions...... ive been seeing people get 1.5 GHZ sooo i kinda feel bad lol. And b4 anyone says anything i know 1.3 GHZ isnt bad lol
Not every phone can overclock the same. I personally wouldn't keep the phone over 1.2 ghz. Other than fooling around there isn't much reason to clock it higher.

Check out the android development section. There is a VERY lengthy thread about this stuff.
Every phone is diff I can't overclock more than 1.3 also

Yep just like everyone says.....it's all built differently. I personally would keep mines at 1Ghz or 1.1Ghz. It's fast enough at 800MHz. Maybe occasionally just to make myself feel good, I'd run 1.2Ghz. Just imagine what 800MHz or 1GHz will be like when a optimized custom ROM can be installed....Stupid FAST!!
1.46 Ghz here since the OC was discovered..
No problem yet, battery life almost never changed, and I'm loving it.
As others have said, it varies. Not every processor will overclock the same, which is why these are sold at a slower speed than possible.
My friend and I bought the same PC processors at the same time. Mine overclocks to 3.6ghz, and I could only get 3.2ghz with his. Nothing is perfectly identical
Just wanted to let everyone know about development. I personally wasnt expecting this so soon but the devs are working hard. Just wanted to shed some light on the development section.

Really interesting. Thanks!
it was made by Mr SetCPU himself
guyz one my frnd bought sgs2 recently and today he came to me for overclocking and to root his fone as i hve sgs2 for almost 2 months so after rooting i installed tegrak overclock ultimate and after overclocking that thing i get a feeling of commiting suicide as d results were
max overclock 2.0 f*cking ghz @ 1500mv core and 1200 mv internal voltages
where mine can even think of 1.6 ghz which is unstable mine overclock is
1.5 ghz @ 1275mv core and 1050 internals which is perfectly stable till
so why dis **** is happening and please dont say no 2 cpu's are same one can go while other cant even think of.....
please guyz tell me something
Thanks for creating a new thread that links us to an existing thread. That's exactly how you're supposed to use the forums.

1.6ghz stable
hey I just installed ninphetamine kernel on stock rom, used voltage control to OC to 1.6ghz and UV some frequencies. I am getting 4400+ scores now and 8000+ scores on CF benchmark. not bad?
So guys, waiting for my GS2 to arrive tomorrow and it's time for the hundred bucks question:
Will we be able to overclock the Mali GPU in the GS2 like the SGX540 in the original GS was?Imagine the performance of this thing with an overclocked GPU!
And before you ask,no,its stock power isn't enough for me.As long as I can get more out of it that is.I will probably have it running at 1.5GHz everyday,so I'm not the kind of guy who will "proceed with caution"!
Thanks!All feedback welcome!

I've got my CPU underclocked to 500 MHz and honestly can't tell the difference between 1.2 GHz and 500 MHz...
I even gave my phone to a colleague who has one too, and he was using it without a thought. He indeed asked me why mine was faster than his... xD
So not a clue if you can OC the GPU, but I've yet to see a single reason to OC this phone.

Well, power corrupts my friend! And with a phone so powerful I can't help it!
Seriously though,it is nice if something like this is possible.See the original GS.The overclock of its GPU puts it against most dual core phones easily and it even bests some of them. Not likely something everyone will need in their everyday lives but you never know what the future holds!Maybe we will rival the Kal-El(Not likely I think but let's hope)!
Happy to see you here by the way pulser. It's really an honour!

I have almost the same experience here, except I could see a difference between 500 and 800 Mhz, but anything above 800Mhz almost didn't change anything. Which proves that the CPU is not the bottleneck, so we should try to overclock the GPU

ALMOST in my mind.Almost.My CPU for one will be a 1.5GHz one!Or even more!
Well, since pulser gave attention to the thread I am a little confident it might even be followed by some devs at some time(or that someone works on it at least),so I want to ask these two regarding the lack of texture compression formats issue:
1)Does anyone know whether Chainfire intends to make any plugins for Chainfire3D himself? While the available plugins do the job for some games, they don't for some others. So,I think Chainfire is our guy on this!
2)Is the issue hardware or software related? If it is software, what are the odds that Samsung or ARM provide a driver with support for all texture compression formats?I don't think that's likely to happen but,oh well,we can always hope for it!

It's definitely hardware related. Mali doesn't support Nvidia's, PowerVR's or Adreno's proprietary texture compression formats.
I think the gpu get overclocked with the cpu or at least that's how it was on the s1.

I think it was seperately overclocked with a special kernel on the GS...I could be wrong but I doubt this as it had made me feel very jealous that it wasn't possible with my Desire.

no, CF3D is a work around this VERY hardware "issue"
there can be other hardware things that aren't compatible however.
wait isn't the Mail 400 GPU a quad-core? I've been hearing that it is but Samsung have disabled 2 cores to a dual core GPU.

I think with dual-core they are referring to the CPU only. The GPU must have remained quad-core.Else how would it pit against the octa-core GeForce of the Tegra?

omg i got 5000 (4951) score in quadrant overclock 1.6 ghz 1400 mv
With tegrak kernel and tegrak OC utility you can OC GPU, normally it idles at 160MHz and under load clocks to 267 MHz, max OC is 400MHz but phone gets really hot.
mine is stock. when the i play f&f 5 the battery would reach 10% in 2 hours!! so my guess is that oc the GPU would cause a huge drain for the battery

It's stable and provides great performance. Although I'm using Ninphetamine right now. Can't use Tegrak oc with nin though. Only setcpu. Nin is oc to1.6 ghz. Tegrak is oc to 1.45GHZ.
EDIT: Just switched back to Tegrak kernel. Manual oc to 2.0 GHZ..Using Tegrak Oc. Stable.

so guys i am new to the evo and i have a asus transformer overclock to 1.7 ghz however i was wondering is there something we have over clocking to 1.6 or similar to that what kernal are you guys using and what feature do you have i am interesting in a nice ui with a over clocked kernal however this place is so big i can't find anyting do they even have a o.c. kernal??

Most Evo's cannot overclock beyond 1190 MHz.
Overclocking is only so effective.
Just because something is overclocked to 2500 mhz it doesn't mean that it performs better than overclocked to 1900 mhz.
So I was thinking the other day, my buddy has a Samsung Captivate which I believe has the same CPU as our phones, yet they have a much higher OC (up to 1.6ghz I believe). Got me thinking whats the highest we can get our devices stable to?
I tried 1.4ghz and failed, device almost came to a standstill. Honestly I'm not so sure its the processor as much as the stepping. Why do we have only 5 settings for stepping in Nook Tweaks? Is it a kernel limitation?
Anything above 1.2 won't give you any added performance... Something to do with it messing with the GPU.

Don't know about phone but for NC, anything above 1.2GHz is asking for trouble rather than performance.
