Just wondering if anyone besides myself is having market issues?
Whenever I attempt to download any app...I keep getting the message the download was unsuccessful. I wiped the data and everything on the Market app and still couldn't download any apps. I even uninstalled the updates on the market and still I couldn't install any apps.

happened to me yesterday... everything seems to be working fine now.
I didnt do any cache clearing or anything so I assume it was on google's end moreso than my phone.

So does anyone else have any issues downloading apps from the Market? Everytime I attempt to download an app, I'm still getting the message that it was unsuccessful.
In addition, whenever I turn on my 4G...I used to get the "4G Antenna On" icon in the taskbar. Now I don't even get that. When I check the 4G status, it just says "scanning".
I just got this Evo this past sunday and I'm trying to hold on to it so I can exchange it for a Nexus S once they come out. But this is driving me crazy. I've updated the prl, profile and did a factory reset, cleared the Market cache and data and I'm still I'm having issues. this has been going on since 6 this morning...
I don't know if this matters but I'm in Madison WI and I'm also stock..non-rooted and my Evo version is the 004 model.
I'm having issues downloading anything since a couple hours ago on my Evo Shift in Milwaukee. New rom, so i wasn't sure if it was my fault or the market's.

Eh... I've checked other forums and it looks like it's just us. I'm about to do a factory reset or something.
Naw...no market problems on my end.

I did several factory resets and I still have the issue. I even unrooted my phone. I'm going to reroot it again once i get home and see if i still have the problem.
What ROM are you using? I have had problems updating apps that were included as system apps in certain ROMs.

I'm unrooted right now. last night when I was rooted, I didn't have these issues. However, I unrooted using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780141&highlight=unroot
When after I unrooted the phone, everything worked fine. But this morning, I updated 3 or 4 apps..then all of sudden all the apps stop downloading and the "download unsuccessful" message popped up.
google market fails...
I rerooted my phone and after I rerooted, I was still unableto download and install apps from the Market App itself. I cleared the Market's Cache/Data again and it still didn't work.
However, if i went to https://market.android.com/ on my pc, I was able to download/install apps. So I'm wondering if the issue is with the Google App itself...
Flashed CyanogenMod Final earlier and have had no problems today / tonight with Market.

I had the same issues while I was on vacation in Orlando last week. First, I thought it was my Miui. Wiped everything and started from scratch with Miui. Didn't work, so I switch Roms, CM7...didn't work. Flashed back to my stock backup...still didn't work. Went back to Miui and said the hell with it after I tried other family members phones, and they couldn't either. No app dwnlds or updates from JUST the app market.
It has been working fine since Monday. I was freaking out though, lol.

been having problems since yesterday and thought it was the rom. I have changed to three different for my flashaholic addiction since then and still some problems. Google maps shows unintalled on all roms and it's installed. Don't know whats going on with that.
Market seems to be running again for me. I just installed 2 apps.

When i go to update my apps... It just hangs and says downloading and doesn't do anything. I have to force close and clear cache for it to work again. It has only done a few times to a new downloading app.
Starting yesterday really bad leading into today my wifi xoom browser is closing practically every time I use it. It will load any site with ease but as soon as my fingers touch the screen to scroll it force closes instantly. I don't want to assume it's the Flash 10.2 update because i did that update the day it came out. Anyone else care to share a solution or am i the only one? I doubt this belongs in the Q&A section but if it does then my apologies in advance.

I would clear the browser cache/data in the settings/app menu. You could always uninstall flash, see if its goes away. Also in the browser settings try setting flash to on demand.

The browser crash bug is fairly well know. I'm not exactly sure what it is. I'm sure it'll get sorted out, it seems to be a bit better with dolphin browser but I still get random crashes. I'm have a feeling it is some memory issue.

Im stock. Crashes happen mostly when opening new tabs while using a flash heavy sites i've deducted from my ability to reproduce it in this manner consistently.

I have noticed this started several weeks ago on all my mobile browsers. Posting from my new Acer Iconia A500 64 GB, (Yes 64 GB) using stock browser, seems to be very shortly after a random page load, it just closes.( no force close, just goes back to desktop) I did notice it would do this repeatably if I was trying to change my Yahoo mail options. Curiously, my wife has an Ipad that is also suffering from the same random close issue, using both Safari or Atomic browser, and we were recently out of the country with the Ipad, using hotel WiFi, and had the exact same issues, so not an isolated issue with my home WiFi access point. Thoughts???
factory reset will clean out your troubles.
Actually went to settings, browser, cleared data & cache settings, problem went away, no more random close.

This is absolutely too funny, posted a reply to this (immediately above) sayiny clear data & clear cache & problem went away, and had browser close as soon as I posted the responce. First time in maybe 2 days that the browser just closed for no apparent reason, but happened while I was posting saying "It doesn't do it anymore"
Watch out when using the Netflix update if rooted runing gb...keep the old version (or make a backup) I believe its 1.2.0. They seemed to have blocked access to gb roms on our Inc. Just fyi. Made the mistake already luckily I had a backup.
Running cm nightly #90
Update:
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/26/netflix-removes-device-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/
Seems Netflix is trying to be nice. Wonder why its hit or miss?
I'm using CM 7.03 and just upgraded Netflix (1.2.1) and have no problems using it, movies still play, everything works as normal.
Well ..me and so far plenty other on droidlife are reporting unusable after update.
I'm using nightly 90
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/26/netflix-on-android-updated-to-support-the-original-droid/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/2...ice-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/
And then this happens.hmmmm wonder what's going on.
I'm using the last stable cm7 and it still works.
Nightly 88 (I think), updated version working.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I know Netflix doesn't work with the new GingerSense ROMs, and the Droidlife article talks mostly about it not working on the Thunderbolt which I believe has the new Sense 3.0 on it, maybe thats the problem not Gingerbread.
Everything running fine for me on CM nightly also. The update actually relaxes the device check it didn't clamp it down further. Maybe uninstalling and clear data before reinstalling, permission fix if rooted, etc, might fix it for those with issues.
EDIT: Well, unless you're running a gingersense that is... I tried again last night with no luck still.
I'm running liberation v2 and I can load nexflix and view my recently watched and instant queue but wont load videos. It keeps on force closing. Its definitely not a sense 3.0 problem.

Yup, it seems every version of Gingersense is getting the same results for some reason. I was hoping the new update would change that but no luck.
Can't even install it from the market.. says insufficient storage
I was having issues with the new update where it seamed like the app wasn't loading correctly or even at all at point, aka just showing a blank white screen, but it turns out that it just took an incredibly long time to load.
DINC with CM7
Thanks first to XDA developers and alot of hardworking people.
I have downloaded from this site about a dozen different versions of the netflix app, including several versions posted after 6/21. None of them seem to work on the incredible 2 I own. I can get the app to install, I can log in to Netflix, I can select a movie, I can start it, but, all I get is audio and a white screen for video.
I have scanned through several forums and I see this is not an unusual problem, and the only possible solutions I have been able to understand seem to involve cracking the phones operating system and going in and messing around with various files and user supplied patches. Reluctant to go into the deep water without a lifeguard and phone still under warranty. Does anyone have a link to an APK that has been tested on the incredible 2 and found to be satisfactory? Thanks for all replies. If I found something will post here.
I'm running CM7.0.3 stable and Netflix 1.2.2 and it's working fine.
I woke up this morning to find I cannot purchase apps anymore.
Anytime I try I get, "An error has occurred. Please try again."
I've cleared my market data and re accepted the ToS but that did not help.
Has anyone encountered this before? Im not keen on doing a factory reset during the work day.
Im on stock ROM (GB) rooted.
Edit: I was able to purchase the app through the Market website using browser. So I guess my Market app is just fubar.
You could try reverting back to the old market for the time being, there are several detailed threads floating around on how to do that.
This was happening to me last night when trying to buy Shadowgun (highly recommend buying that game), so I just loaded up the market website on my phone...so I assume it must be a problem on google's servers or something since it's happening to more than one person.

Its funny you say that. I was trying to buy ShadowGun as well. However I tried purchasing other apps and it was the same issue. I went to bed that night thinking that just lots of people were buying ShadowGun. I ended up purchasing through my web browser too and it was sent right to my phone. I downgraded my market, still the same result.
I had this issue and inadvertantly resolved it when I reflashed a rom. I wish I could help more, I don't know what the precise problem is.
Have you tried clearing market data?

My market just changed to the play store. It FCs before I can accept the terms.
I'm on GalaxyTask 14. In fact I just went to GT14 so I tried wiping clean and I still get the FC on the store. Anyone else?
Same here ... I'm sure Task (on his thread) will tell us what to do once his Market also upgrades to Play...
glad to hear I'm not alone - sorry but misery loves company.
I didn't want to start off bothering Task in case it wasn't ROM related
Task 14 here and I get the same. Sucks because I need to redownload Touchdown tonight for a trip tomorrow afternoon. Hope there's a fix before then or else I'll have to find my corporate Palm Pre (gasp).
My market...eh, Play Store forceclosed and the icon is gone. Task 14 as well.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
I had the same error with the fc... This fixed it for me. I went to settings> applications> manager applications> all. Found the new google play app & wiped everything I could, such as clear cache, clear data, then did a force stop, and finally an uninstall. After this I clicked my normal app store icon it told me it was being changed to google play again, so I figured I was in for more fcs. but went ahead and agreed. Everything was fine after no more fcs.
I noticed another file updated itself too, but can't remember the name it was some market file though.
Try this and see if it works for you or if I just got lucky.
In double checking on my memory of what I did so I could be precise here I noticed the google play application is now gone. but the market is updated and no fcs.
EDIT: Just noticed it may have only been called the play store app that I uninstalled. not google play app.

Do you actually have an icon for it that works?
Edit: nevermind... I'm sure you do. While the forum was in maintenance I found a way to keep the new google play store and still not have the fc's
So although if you want a quick fix you can uninstall as I instructed before, or just wait until I get up a quick guide to keep the play store without the fc's.
I'm hoping someone will beat me to it though.
Edit 2: Sometimes I make more work for myself by posting quick fixes before thoroughly making sure it's the best fix and this is one of them if you want to keep the google play store and still stop the fc's.
Final Edit: If you are having issues with the play store and haven't uninstalled it yet you should just have to force close it, clear data and run it again and it should start without the FC's.
If you have uninstalled it like I suggested in the previous post and want it back or if you don't have it and want it quicker this quote I swiped from somewhere while googling should help... "If you want to speed up the update process, the usual trick involving force-closing Market, clearing data, uninstalling updates and then loading up the app again seems to work." then wait for the update. It updated so fast for me that I had a hard time testing this fix and had to disable my wifi to confirm uninstallation although YMMV especially if you're trying to get it for the first time. You may want to make sure your device is on the list of supported devices at http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=190860 before trying this a waiting for something that may never come.
This may cause the FC's that started me on this issue to happen again and you'll need to force close it, clear the data and run it again, as stated above in this final edit.
I've already checked this at least twice, but just in case, I'm going to make sure everything works as I say so stay tuned for a few minutes until I post a final edit 2 just in case I'm missing anything.
Final Edit 2: Seems everything works as stated. I couldn't even mess it completely up when I tried.
I think the name is stupid as [email protected], but it's the new app store so what can we do? Seemed like it is really fast and they are having some great sales on apps and a little music, so maybe it's worth putting up with the stupid new name.
If I've caused you needless hassle feel free to call me names and cuss at me. I should have thought of the short way to fix the FC's before sugesting the uninstall. My bad.
Let me know if you have any issues still and I'll help where I can.

This must be a HC 3.2 only issue.. I had the problem on Task 14 and it was easily fixed but flashed back to AOKP b27 last night and the market updated with no issues at all...
Probably... Everyone I've noticed I said they were Task 14 except one who was still on Task 10 or something and asked task for help. I'm sure you know how that reply went.

I wouldn't run any app downloaded from hotfile, not knowing where it ultimately came from. Too much of a chance it's been modded to steal who knows what. Especially a market app :what:

EDIT: info came from http://androidadvices.com/download-google-play-store-v346-tutorial/
actually this must be because i updated it on my galaxy nexus phone first - to update that i had to clear data on the market and then launch market and after i accepted the terms it updated itself. I then applied the same to my tab so did not see the issues others have experienced
