Nexus HD2 ICS - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey,
Ik have a question about this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437463
I installed it today on my HTC HD2 (non TmoUS), not using MAGLDR or something, just boot via CLRCAD and HAREX.EXE.
For some reason the rom is very slow. The lockscreen doesn't come up in under 10 seconds and so on.
My question is how do I install this rom properly. Do I unpack the data.ext4 or not? Do I unpack initrd or not? Is there something I must change in the startup (for instance my GPS location or the data_setup (change it to 1024?).
I hope you guys will be able to help a newb at this to fix the rom.

You don't have to unpack anything. The rom is slow because it is booted from the SD card. Try installing it on NAND. It becomes ALOT faster

Thanks guys for your replies. and i have tried with radio 2.14.50 also.. but same issue.. and i formatted my card many times. still same problem. First boot is ok. everything works fine. but after restart from winmo it doesn't boot.
And I am using Android capable Energy rom. so i think this is not a rom related problem.

I experienced this problem to.
Here are some steps i prompted.
1. Format your SD card by using the Format Option at your phone.
2. Run a Stock ROM from HTC, download a ROM update from the HTC website.
3. Always use a Radio 2.08 or above.
So what you are gonna do is as follow.
Format your SD card, install a fresh original ROM from HTC. After that remove the black plate, and press the RED button for 5 seconds. After that install Radio 2.15 it can be found trough Google. Then put Android folder in the root of your SD card, and run the *****!

Thanks for your help. but i dont think 2.15.50 radio is compatible with stock 1.66 rom. for stock roms i think radio with 2.x.51 is needed..
Anyways will try these steps and will tell the result.

NO luck.. i tried it but again same problem. booting stops at same error.
but few new lines comes after adding that line which are as follow
Failed to find rootfs on sd card, you need to unzio a rootfs zip file to the root of your sd card
** it is already present on the root of my sd card..
Strange problem....
My you need to try another SD Card or something? May some files get corrupted by your phone? Cause it seems to boot without problems at the first time, but after that it won't fire up anymore. You tried the Android i listed in my last post already? I can upload it to my host if you want, so you dont need to wait for ages to get the download complete.

try these steps in running Android, never failed me everytime
you need to have
1. HSPL
2. SDcard formatted with SD Formatter from Panasonic
3. at least an Android friendly WINMO ROM (though some people have reported being
able to run android on the latest stock 3.14 ROM)
as you have a really strange problem
i suggest you do a Task 29 on your device, before flashing the winmo ROM
Your problem is your using 2.07 radio. You need 2.08 and higher. This is discussed in almost every build thread if this section.

[Q] Need help getting android

Ok im new and nobody has written me back about this so i have to ask this way but i flashed to the energy rom and i want android on it, i dont know how to go from where im at to that as all the threads ive seen has said download this and that but i really dont kno how to get energy off to do that but when i hit the launch android button it says "CLRCAD.exe was not found on your storage card...proceeding to launch Haret anyway" ok then "Haret.exe was not found on your storage card..." so can any body help me get android???
Hardware is:
RAM size 576MB
Flash memory size 1024MB
Data bus 32 bits
Software is:
OS version 5.2.21916
Manila version 2.5.20191914.0
ROM version 26 Jan.2011 WWE
Radio version 2.10.50.26
Firstly there are 2 ways of running Android, 1st via sd card and 2nd via NAND memory. The option you choose depends on whether or not you still want to use winmo. If so you need to use the sd card based Android builds. If you only want to use Android then you need to go the NAND based Android build approach.
As you mention running clrcad and haret I'm assuming you want to use the dual bot method, ie both winmo and Android. You will then need to device which Android build you want to try (from the Android SD dev forum) and carefully read the first few posts to see the dev's instructions, but in most cases you need to download and unzip the rom and copy the Android folder to the root of your sd card. In the NRG roms, clicking on the launch Android icon he includes in his build will run the clrcad and haret automatically and boot to Android.
thanx for your reply..thats the thing when i hit launch android it wont go...so when i copy the folder do i download everything even if it says its already on an if installed it might not work? thats where im lost
Try formatting the sd card completely so that there are no funnies on the card, copy the entire Android folder to the sd card root and you can ignore the warning about files that may not work etc.
ok ill give it a try
when you format your sd card will it erase the NRG rom and then you have to put it back on there?

ok just checkin..i want android on my sd card
ok i formatted my sd card then copied the android folder to it and it still did launch an when i clicked on the folder to run clrcad it didnt do anything an when i clicked the heret it just went to the htc screen and thats it...what did i do wrong??
Did you give it some time? I would ask the question in the thread for the actual rom you are using. Other users may have a solution for you.

Good, so you've formatted your sd card and copied the android build, clrcad and haret.exe files to the root....Tapping clrcad (to run) doesn't show any visible signs but its actually working in background, then tap haret...u should see haret loading up & a bunch of text briefly (depends d android build)...The htc screen u saw means d android build is working silently in d background so give it some time...check d android build's page for how long you should wait..(most tk abt 8-20mins, i use nand now so i'm not so sure).....if the above still doesn't work for you, then u should try using d various android/winmo dual-booting cab files out there...
P.S. Devs say its best u load up android within 3 secs of loading WinMo, so be as fast as u can...u could also try disabling htc sense to give a quicker loading time....If dat still doesn't work, then u might have to reflash an android-friendly WinMo ROM.
lol i dont think i gave it enough time..kinda impatient but i got it at the htc screen right now..im using the froyostone v4.0 build

MccMBoxmaX Transformer SS V4.5 Gingerbread 2.3.3[Sense 3.0] IN 3D

I am a noob and have been able to convert my HTC HD2 to android on two occasions. My third attempt has been the most challenging. Im trying to install MccMBoxmaX Transformer SS V4.5 Gingerbread 2.3.3[Sense 3.0] IN 3D and have tried EVERYTHING. Every thread that I can find, every way that has been explained and cannot get this one installed. My phone at this point boots into MAGLDR then reads sd kernel open failed. I updated to Tytung r5 and that did not work. I have been able to work through everything else to get android on my HTC through threads from XDA and it's been more than worth it. Please help.
Are you installing on sd or NAND ?
Never mind, it's an sd build. Anyway, since Im currently using cLK and booting from nand Im not really sure where it is at but you are supposed to set the directory of your android build (where the zimage stays). I think it's in option "10.Services" in magldr .. set the dir and try again.
Could you please explain further "set the directory of your android build (where the zimage stays). " TY
Surely you could just reset through stock Windows 6.5 (there are many guides), then boot it up via clrcad and haret? Or use an automatic build loader?
Also, if after this you still have trouble booting, change the WinMo rom. I'm using OZDroid, which is plain Windows 6.1 (I think, TBH I couldn't care less) with a dualboot app built in to the ROM.
i had this problem a few times before, "sd kernel open failed" is in red writing correct? sorry to say im not sure what caused it but i can tell you what worked for me to fix the problem.
1st i re-installed MAGDLR, 2nd i re-partitioned my phone to the correct specs the ROM i was using suggested, & last i re-downloaded the ROM and placed it on my sd card.
i know this seems like a lot of work but its the only thing i've come across thats worked every time. i've had to do this twice now. if you ever find out the cause i'd like to know & if i find out whats causing it i'll let you know as well.
Much thanks. Exactly what I ended up doing and works fantastic!

[Q]How to create RUU android rom installer?

Anyone tried to made an RUU bassed rom installer for hd2 using an android.img? I know it is hard for example for it I need to have installed hspl + radio compatible for that rom. So question is:
if is possible to pack to nbh:
- magldr part
- misc part
- recovery part
- boot part
- system part
- cache part
- userdata part (maybe is hard becouse use all space, and maybe ruu will be ~500M?)
Anyone have experience?
I know you can flash clk without a computer by changing the name to leoimg.nbh .. you put it on the root of the SD card and hold volume down + end.
Isn't the problem with flashing a rom like this the boot scripts?
Sent from my HD2 using xda premium
Ok thanks, I know that allready but not tried to create full pack for hd2 including magldr and android part. I think magldr is allso instalable trought LEOIMG.nbh?
Idk probably. I think its possible that your onto something. I'm not a developer but seems like you could back up your entire system to a nbh file maybe and flash it .. that's the way you return to stock and uninstall hspl.. if windows can boot like that theirs a good chance android can to.
Maybe its to much effort?
I do think their is a bigger chance of bricking your device using this method.

[Q] My Android OS is not fucntioning.

I am running on MIUI Android 2.3.9 and it is a mess, it kept popping up error messages "Google framework" and i dont have any google services, such as Play Store, Gmail, and i cant receive SMS, and my bluetooth also not functioning, and cannot delete anything from the SD card from the phone, i have to take out the SD card and plug it in into a computer just to delete music, video and pictures.
Was hoping to change for a new OS, but the problem is my usb port is also not functioning. I even have to charge my battery using a third party charger.
Is there anyway i could change my OS with using the usb port. Can i use the SD card instead to do all the works.
And if can, what OS should i get and how.
Dear good Sir, PLEASE HELP, im a complete NOOB. I know nothing about phones and how to mod it. The one who helped my change my phone from Windows to Android is a phone shop, that now doesnt do it anymore.
Search for clk 1.5 This can be installed from the sdcard and will also Install a version of recovery. From the clk menu you can partition your nand to the required size for your chosen ROM. Read carefully and you will be fine.

If you mean change ROM, then you can do what Shanman posted. If you mean actually change OS from android to Windows Mobile 6.5 (a stock ROM), you'll have to flash a LEOIMG.nbh in the boot loader (Google how to do this). If you want to flash Windows Phone then I'm afraid I don't think there's any way to do that.
