I'm rooted on the stock rom and most everything seems fine. Only issue I'm having is that every so often the keyboard won't come up when I try to input text. I installed a 3rd party keyboard that works fine but I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same issue.

I found it
It was a screen lock widget app.
Uninstalled then reboot

I found it's not the wodget it's After playing any kind of video youtube, games etc that home screen do not rotate...
Just reboot and it'll rotate again

There is a bug/feature that Samsung built into their phone (perhaps all THEIR Android phones) and this may explain your issue, in any case it explained at least 2 cases I know of:

Basically do not lock orientation with anything other than the Samsung's "orientation Lock"...
Hi all,
my galaxy tab orientation work fine after restart but while using it for couple of around 15 min , the main pages stop rotatings and only applications does.
Any idea how can i fix this?

My factory-installed firmware also had some screen orientation bugs. But everything works fine with the current updates. Though I'm not using TouchWiz, which I think you are referring to. In any case, be careful with updates and don't lock yourself out with a signed bootloader
Okay, so i've had swype installed on my phone since i installed the latest stable cm7. Everything went fine. I rebooted my phone today and all of a sudden swype just stopped functioning. When i swype, a blue outline appears around the keyboard. I tried reinstalling the app from the installer and making a whole new account, but the blue outline remains or it says that the keyboard is configured for a different device. Any help will be appreciated, i can't live without my swype.

Go into the setting, then language and keyboard, then make sure swype is checked. Then change the input method to swype, and it should work. On the latest CM7 nightly and no problems.
Yea, i did that. I've been using the keyboard for quite some time. It just won't work anymore. When i try to swype, a blue outline around the keyboard appears and nothing is outputed

Okay for future reference for others. I fixed it. After you install and it generates the license, click back, then enable manually. It works perfectly after that.

Every once inwhile my keyboard stops working and I cannot type in any box that to fill in text. I tried the Swype and the Samsung keyboard and both didn't work. The only way that I have been able to get it to work is by restarting the phone. Is there another way to fix this?

I have a rooted 16gb N7. Every 4.2 + ROM I use besides Clean ROM 3 FC on any voice input whether its from voice search or Utter. Does anybody else have this problem? Could it be the Speak Me app causing the problem? I noticed that that app is always in the system whether I do a full wipe or switch ROMS. Any help would be appreciated.
