guys i love creed's v3.5 do u guys xperiencd high ram usage in creed v3.5?
its always 160+ in my RAM.. isnt this gonna drain my battery?
what is underclock? and how to do it?
try to freeze some bloatwares and use task killer or manually closed the apps
Underclock=Underclocking, also known as downclocking, is the practice of modifying a synchronous circuit's timing settings to run at a lower clock rate than it was specified to operate at. It may be said to be the computer equivalent of driving a car below the speed limit. Usually, underclocking is used to reduce a computer's power consumption and heat emission, sometimes also to increase the system's stability and compatibility. Underclocking may be implemented by the factory, but many computers and components are end user underclockable.
its like our SGY has 832mhz processor
when underclock to 624mhz max and 312 min it saves more battery
how to do it?? use NO fRills or SET CPU app
your kernel must have governors like smartass and schedulers
and Hit thanks if i help

its due to apps working in the background even if you did not use them,
make sure to identify which apps are using more ram in the background,
use google its your bestfriend
Go to settings> applications> running applications
Check which apps are using ur ram and are u really dont wanna use them
and freeze them

I've tested battery usage on CM10.1 i NEAT LITE XWLSS, Below screens which show that CM10.1 use less battery than XWLSS with same time and phone usage.
CM10.1 vs XWLSS

Interesting, but I would like to see which apps are using the battery on each rom.
For me on CM10.1 mobile standby uses more of a % than anything else
i've changed to Neat Lite cause the battery drain on CM10.1 was really bad. maybe seeing the apps used and the % of drain is possible to analyze better this information

Sorry for my english
for me on neatrom with stock kernel

Something is wrong.
What s the point of this thread? Battery life? I get 3 days with Slim bean +3 hrs of screen ON time. It all depends on how u use!! More apps more battery drain...
Dont just say u get 3 days if u use data for just 10 minutes...please use data 24hours...

core usage it reports right. then that game doesnt intensively use your cpu. it can also be the kernel that you are using, and how it works(if you are rooted).
Custom kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
using franco.kernel running PA rom
then its probably the kernel and how it runs(or how its set up). if your game isnt suffering, i wouldnt worry about it.
Thanx for the help...
in the franco.kernel app, cores 3&4 does shows its offline.. I just cant find a setting or how to enable those cores..
Why does ur say Snapdragon 600?? :s .. Sorry but is Pro and 600 the same processor? :s

Its called hotplugging. The kernel offlines the cores when its not necessary. It onlines cores 3,4 when needed.
If you want to have 4 cores on at all times, then use his app to change the load. Not necessary to have all 4 on though, hotplugging is for battery purposes.
I have read users commenting on heavy usage of stock android 4.3. Today I checked ram usage and found this.

Better yet, don't use the phone and get even more free RAM. Or just turn it off..100% free RAM!

Try downloading the 'AVG tune up' I find this great for clearing caches, running apps, history cleaner, message and call cleaner and it seems to run perfectly, do you have a lot of apps downloaded because even though you might not have opened the app they can discreetly run without you being aware, also go to you settings and applications tab and scroll sideways til you come to processes and this is where you see everything running.
i upgraded to custom rom cm11m9. %25 diffirence and phone is good now. no stuck anymore

Hello,
RAM should be always free from running application because running application makes devise slow and hence it create bad performance.
I make some research, try many things in this days to make device faster. I was try everything. Change minfree values and other kernel values.
And I got idea. On kernel for L7(i don't know about L5) default freq for GPU is set to 380mhz (stock value is 245)
I have question for developers @ALEX.IMER @skyinfo @-CALIBAN666- @Plamb1r @Asce1062 and others, I cant remember all right now. As CPU,GPU is a processor too. When we set it to maximum freq battery drains faster, and device have lags on heavy operations. The latest avaible freq is not good. Same as on CPU. Because Comes fatigue processor and then runs slower. True??
I edit egl.cfg and enable full GPU rendering (i have thread in general section) and downclock it to 245 and there is good results
Before this on 30 min of heavy usage device spend ~11-13% of battery
Now I have only ~7% of battery drain.
All of this what I said is different from user to user I only ask.
Tried your eglpatch but I got status 0 when flashing.

After underclocking GPU see difference. I use my phone like before, and there is much more battery.
L5 GPU has only 1 frequency : 133MHz... Wonder how Imer OC it...

Idk, but difference between L5 and L7 GPU is that L5 have Adreno 200 (AMD Z430) on 133Mhz and L7 have Adreno 200 'enhanced' which work from 200 to 245MHz.
You know about kernels, use both, extract it and see difference.
Since I see so much Ignorant in the Battery thread, I like to point out (rant) some things..
1. A person 6 hour of Screen On Time usage is different from person to person.
2. Temperature can have a great affect on battery life.
3. Signal strength can have a great affect on battery life.
So with that in mind, I suggest everyone try to do a PC Mark bench, it is fair and give people a much better idea of what of what they should be getting. To do this test here are the few settings you need to set
1. BRIGHTNESS AT 23-25% (EYEBALL IT)
2. Wifi on
3. do not disable Mobile data or sync
4. Clear all RAM before start
below are the CONTROL numbers from a stock rom (pictures are from greenbot.com)

Below is my stat, using arter kernel and foreverloco rom. (I DO UNDERVOLT MY KERNEL) ambient is about 20C
I get what I get based on MY real world usage. I don't need synthetic benchmarks or software to tell me anything. Why do people obsess about this so much?

To see if your phone performing at optimum settings. The problem is there is no set controls or way to bench it properly and this is the way how.
Why this benchmark is useless? Let's say we have two Edge+, under this benchmark CPU on both runs at 1GHz all the time and both last for 8h. Now imagine that one device runs program/service that keeps waking up the device every few minutes and the other goes and stays into deep sleep without any problems. Benchmark might show no difference or just slight difference. In real life 1 device will get 6h sot during 48 h usage, the other one will get 3h sot and run out of juice in less than 24h.
Good benchmark should simulate at least 24h usage with breaks to test standby drain as well.
