How do you disable camera sound for SG3?
It depends what ROM you are on. For android 2.1/2.2 ROMs you can put your phone on silent and it will mute the camera shutter or I think you can also mute it from within the camera apps settings. For CM7/android 2.3 ROMs go to settings, cyanogenmod settings, sound and mute camera shutter.
Click thanks if I helped.

Is there any way to listen to music while the phone is on vibrate?
I found it highly frustrating that there is no system sound if you choose to put your phone on vibrate. Can this be changed?

You can use an external player that runs a separate volume function, like core player.
Neither Core Player, nor Pocket Player make it work.
When on vibrate there is no sound.
Any other tweaks/ideas/programs?

Yeah, you're right. You can turn the sound off and still hear music but not on Vib.
Yeap. And it is very bad.
Because I want to listen to music with my headphones without disturbing those around me and "vibrate" is important for getting calls, sms etc.
It seems to me very strange that there is no answer for this. I would think that others would have encountered the same problem also.
Aren't there any customizable profiles in Topaz like in other HTC phones?

On that note, I listen to music at work through my headphones and can still hear alerts come in.
hi, i think i found a solution, but for this to work you'll have to enable the HTC Sense interface (or touch flo 3D). I dont know why but i just couldnt find it on the standard windows mobile theme. So here it is. With HTC Sense enabled (or touch flo3D), slide to the Settings tab and then touch Sound. In sound, turn off the Single Volume option and there you go Now you'll have seperate system and ring volume

There is a way, but first you must do as in previous post and disable single volume then install Microsoft Voice Command. MSVC creates a secondary ring profile which can be edited in the registry.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\
Edit the string "Script" from "as5p" to "v0p" (v-zero-p) this will set the phone to always vibrate even if you remove vibration from your ring profile. This way, even if you set you phone ring volume to minimum (not silent or vibrate) you will hear system sounds and vibrate when receiving calls. More info on MSVC can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619358
Hello,
I got my HD2 one week ago and it is really fantastic. But today I was listening to some music. Then I wanted to take a picture with the camera. When I started the camera, the music stopped immediately.
There are any tweaks or ideas like to fix that problem? I mean, this makes no sense, to stop playing music if I want to take a picture.
Thanks for help.
Wolfgang
this is to reduce battery consumption and to never interface shutter sound with music
Is it possible to customize that?

*Bump*
I don't want to reduce battery, I want to listen music and take a photo.
I have the shutter sound disabled.
Is there any news about this problem yet? I couldn't find a registry tweak myself.
Any input is welcome!
another possible reason why the music shuts off is in case you switch to camcorder mode. the camcorder will record video (with sound) and so that might be another reason to disable music playback so the sound in your video is recorded loud and clear.
don't know if a tweak exists to control this behavior though...

Yes I understand that, but I can do that manually if I want to use the camcorder...
But I use the photo mode a lot more.
I can't find the tweak myself, on the forum search and also not in "Reload this Page [REF] *Leo Hints, Tips and Registry Tweaks* - Updated 13th July 2010."...
So any input is still welcome!
Hi everyone,
The phone's spec sheet says that it has SRS wow hd. Any idea how I can use it? To clarify, what I'm looking for is something like the control center application which typically comes with the srs stuff. It allows the user to set various parameters of the srs algorithm. Any help would be great.
Regards,
Soumen
currently it can only be accessed via the stock music app and while playing a song..

It can be used with any music app that uses android's stock codecs. If you use music applications such as poweramp (that rely on ffmpeg) you wont be able to use srs wow hd effects, unless the dev makes it happen
I'm using dzo's Oxygen based Gingerbread ROM for the phone. I cant seem to be able to find them in the stock music player in that. Is it only available in the stock ROM?

I'm not using oxygen atm (will flash it later this day), but they should be located under the equalizer presets in the stock music app.
Okay, Im pretty sure the ROM did something to the music player. The player now shows only 4 Tabs - Artists, Albums, Songs, and Playlists. Cant seem to find Equalizer settings anywhere among the options on those screens. On my previous phone(galaxy fit), the equalizer settings used to come somewhere there. Any other music players that support this feature?
the music app in oxygen rom does not have the equaliser feature..

You have to start to play a song, then you will see the equalizer settings

Install the latest version of PlayerPro (2.09). There is an option there to enable the SRS WOW HD effects. Just tested it on MIUI rom.
Can SRS WOW be activated in the official 2.3 (28.12.2011) firmware?
In the settings of the stock music app the equalizer option is inactive.
2.3.5 official, yes I'm using it now.

That's good news!
I'm using 2.3.5 official. However, in the stock music app when I go to Settings I can see an Equalizer option, but pressing it has no effect. Is this the only way to get to the SRS option and if so why might it not be working for me?
Had to register, been stalking this forum over a year...
Anyway, with this new android 2.3.5, you can't change equalizer without headphones. And when you take your headphones off, equalizer turns back to normal. And that is a big loss for those who listens to music from backspeaker. You can't have SRSWowHD if you're using the backspeaker (with that erm, stock player? Can it even be said as stock player?)
That's annoying. SRSWowHd worked really well with the speaker in 2.2.
Would Huawei have deliberately disabled adjusting the equaliser in 2.3.5? Could a third-party app re-enable it?

You have to rename the audio file located
System\media\audio\ui
Named
VideoRecord.ogg to VideoRecord.bak or just delete. I prefer to rename but whatever you do will remove that awful noise.
Hmm thats not it. Ill search around a bit more.

Changed it but no change. Couldn't find any others to change.
I used Tasker app to get rid of the video button sound. When the camera app is launched, the phone goes into silent mode, then turns off silent mode when the camera closes. It was my first time using Tasker, so there may be a better way, but it works.
I do what I normally do which is go into the system UI media folder and delete the camera click sound after rooting. However this time even with those files completely deleted the camera app still make the shutter sound. Is it like OEM camera apps now where the sound is built into the app and it's not using the folder sound anymore?

why don't u just disable shutter sound from camera app?
each camera app can use different shutter sound that can be store inside app files (completely not accessible for users)
:good:
I'm talking about the stock app. No setting to.
