I'm using Huawei X5 U8800 running Oxygen 2.3.7
I'd downloaded the Aurora 4.1.zip and place in sd card.
After I enter CWM and choose install zip from sd, I can't see the zip files.
Any solution please?
Thanks!

You have to install CWM recovery to flash GingerDX. Then you have to reboot to CWM and choose Install update ZIP from sd card, find GDX zip file and select it to flash it.

how can i install CWM please sir guide me step by step i will be so thankful to u!
Use this to install CWM recovery and copy custom ROM zip file to sd card. After that reboot your phone and tap screen several times until it goes to CWM. Then go to Install update zip from sd card and find it. Press on it, it will ask you to confirm your choice and after flashing ROM do full wipe. Of course make NAND backup before.
my rom was xginv5.0 before now i sucessfully installed gingerdxv10 it gives me CWM then i try to install gingerdxv19 and its sucess to installed but my problem is from xgin5.0 to gingerdxv10 up to gingerdxv19 the interface of my phone doesnt change just the startup only change what is wrong?

So you did put the dload to the root of the SD card or is the card broken?
Also you can install apps with the market of course . If you have some problems with the market you can use HiSuite or just file manager.

In case you don't find a working link of SBF PM me I will upload one and give you the link.
Hi all!
This is my first post and I am new to rooting so I will not know as much advanced techniques/terms so please be patient.
I decided to root my phone to install a custom ROM (Thats what everyone wants, right?), more specifically to get a newer version of Android. I found the Aurora ROM by Dzo and I flashed 2.04 and it seems very fluid and fast. I didn't upgrade from the official 2.3 because I couldn't find the files. I'm really liking the ICS environment.
My first question is: How do I find/install a baseband? I want to use this as my daily ROM and I can't do much without signal.
Second, My battery indicator is not working and how do I fix this?
Thirdly, When I put the device to sleep for about 5 secs or more it will not wake up and reboots. Is this fixed with a later patch?
And lastly, What upgrade pattern should I use to get up to 5.0? (e.g. 2.04-2.5-2.6 etc or jump straight to a version and go from there)
Thanks in advance
First of All,you must install official gingerbread for install ICS.
Your problems (battery and baseband) are causing by old amss.bin (baseband) and old bootloader.
First, install official gingerbread with code name V100R001C00B518G001. If you install this version, you must not do root for install Aurora ICS.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lws54xxb3lcm7di
If you install it,You must install CWM 5.0.2.8 or CWM 5.0.2.7 or CWM 6.0.2.8 or CWM 5.5.0.4 or TWRP Recovery. My prefence is install CWM 6.0.2.8
Here is 6.0.2.8;
http://code.google.com/p/forumber-projects-for-u8800/downloads/detail?name=recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.8-2.6.35.7-u8800.img&can=2&q=
1.Download the recovery
2.Remove SD Card and delete dload folder in phone's internal memory (if exists).
3.Power on the device while pushing volume up and down buttons.
4.If the pink screen appears, connect the phone to PC and wait for detect the phone
5.Rename downloaded img file to recovery.img and copy it to image folder in mass storage in Pink Screen
6. Download latest Aurora 5.0 and update 20 and copy those files to your sd card.
7. Power On the phone while pressing volume up button.
8. Backup the system to your sd card
9. Do "Wipe data/factory set"
10.Install Aurora 5.0,then install update 20
11.Reboot the system. And that's it! Enjoy the ICS

You can install offical gingerbread on rooted ROM. You don't need to wipe because the system will do wipe automaticly
No. You do not have to wipe. But you can if you want.
To install official gingerbread, you can install it over a rooted or a non rooted device. It doesn't matter because when you install gingerbread. The device will automatically be un rooted. You would have to root your device again after installing official gingerbread.
The easiest way to root gingerbread is to use SuperOneClick. Here is a tutorial for rooting your gingerbread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
In the link above, just do the steps under 'Rooting the U8800 with SuperOneClick v2.3.3' and 'Installing ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 on your U8800'.
I hope I helped. Good Luck and have fun rooting!
When I try to flash the Gingerbread ROM, It says Installation aborted. Why is this?
I am using CWM 5.5.0.4
That's not right...

You do not flash official firmware with CWM.
You must extract the file that you have downloaded.
After extracting it, keep going into the extracted files until you find a folder called 'dload'.
Copy this dload folder to the root of sdcard.
Now, power on your phone by pressing and holding down the power + volume up + volume down buttons all together.
The phone will automatically start installing the official android 2.3

If you don't understand anything then you are welcome to ask me about it. I will explain it to you.
Good Luck!

You don't need to pass boot animation. Do this;
1.Download the recovery
2.Remove SD Card and delete dload folder in phone's internal memory (if exists).
3.Power on the device while pushing volume up and down buttons.
4.If the pink screen appears, connect the phone to PC and wait for detect the phone

Good Job. I hope you don't run into any kind of problem
Hi,
i proceeded wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p1 (youtube video + CWM installation) and was on the rooted v2.3.3. Gingerbread with an old CWM (3.x). All was OK. Then the steps 1-10. I flashed the official cm-11-20140127-NIGHTLY-p1.zip (from download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p1&type=nightly). This installed a new CWM, but that CWM won't works (there are many errors mounting all the partitions). Now i'm back to 2.3.3 GB with the old CWM...
Any Idea, how to flash the cm11-NIGHTLY without destroy?
TIA
w.
First you have to flash cm 7 first. This will update the memory format. This step is important, it is why your having problems. Then flash cm 9. From here you can flash cm 11 rom. Don't forget the gapps zip, standard or core. You should be able to locate the specific instructions for each cm version. This is how i got cm 11 on my tab.

damn.... i cannot find any site with the old cm-7 archive for Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000...
Is here somebody with a cm-7 package for p1 and let me download this archive (one click hoster)?
Or do you know any download site with the old cm7 archive for p1?
EDIT: or is it maybe enough to flash cm-9.0.0-p1.zip or cm-9.1.0-p1.zip in order to format the memory? Or is there alternative way how to format the memory manually?
Big thanks!

Sorry about the misdirection. I forget about the gsm and cdma differences. I have a cdma tab. Anyway, i checked CM's website and there is no CM7! That was a surprise. Best of luck with the upgrade. I have CM 11 the terenceng build, and it works great.

[SOLVED] official cm11 on GT-P1000
Hi all,
thanks to mike_disturbed (forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50001612&postcount=11). With his hints at last i managed to install the official cm11 on my gt-p1000, but i did it in some different way (without the extra step with cm10.2).
Here is my way. Maybe useful for somebody.
1) GB_Stock_Safe_v5 + gt-p1000_mr.pit + modem.bin (JPZ)
2) overcome kernel 4.0.0 with cwm 5.x
3) oficial cm11-NIGHTLY.zip from download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p1
a) first flash to flash a new cwm. it reboots to cwm 6.x
b) second flash for the ROM self
4) gapps (core)
...and done Till now all works great.
Thank you all!
w7.

ClockworkMod 3.x with CyanogenMod11 M12
Ok, I can confirm this strange behavior to some point. But one more recent CyanogenMod11 versions, like the M12 snapshot, the ClockworkMod 3 version is no longer destroyed. During the installation CM11 M12 replaces any older found version of ClockworkMod. I can confirm this for several updated P1000 Galaxy Tables. In my case, ClockworkMod 3 was at the beginning of the CM11 M12 installation always upgraded to version ClockworkMod 6.0.5.1. The installation order looks like that:
1) Upgrade your P1000 Galaxy Tab to stock Gingerbread (only if you are on Froyo)
2) Copy the CM11 M12 version and the correct micro GApps Package (pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.4-20140629-signed) to the mini SD card
3) Root the tab with Odin 1.85 and the right ClockworkMod 3 package (CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar)
4) Power on the tab in "recovery mode" and select under CWM Recovery the option wipe data/factory reset
5) Install CM11 from the mini SD card, Tab will reboot and you will see new CWM v6.0.5.1
6) To go absolutely sure make again a wipe data/factory reset, and repeat the install of CM11 from the mini SD card
7) Install the GApps Package from the mini SD card and make a last reboot
CM11 M12 should be now correctly installed. It is important to note that only this micro GApps package has worked properly on my tabs: pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.4-20140629-signed
It would be great if there would exist any more recent ClockworkMod root package. The available one is based on CWM 3.x and is not really designed for newer android versions like 4.4 KitKat. According to my informations, there exist only a newer CWM v5.0.2.7 for the P1010 which is most likely not compatible to the P1000.
