market says ics gallery app isnt compatible with my device however would you happen to be able to extract the apk for me ?

Not sure I can do that, Google might be your friend in this case.

i contacted the dev directly , it's only for 2.3 and up ... any how i'll wait till i get another phone .. no point having the apk as it it will give me a p**** error even if i had it

Sorry for giving you a bum steer there although the camera app should be ok as I used it on my 2.2 tablet months ago. So much for catering to all Android users..
It may be a good time to update to Gingerbread.

Regarding Adobe Flash..

So I was wondering, The x10 is flash compatible.. runs smoothly - even on High quality. Why does it get filtered from the Market? Is this just me? or is it physically Sony Ericsson just trying to prevent it from being installed?
After hearing about the GB2.3.3 update I plugged in my phone for an update and just rushed through it not reading that it was 2.1 and installed it, now I want to use Flash cause I don't see the point in sorting out a ROM/root even with the backup if It's just going to be updated again in an Apparent up coming days.. I will admit I am quite curious on the SE GB update But want to install flash on here in the mean time.. ;/
TL: DR
I bought x10 after x8, rooted asap.. installed custom rom.. searched market for flash. Installed it, flash content available. "Updated"/Installed stock using PCC searching android market for "Adobe Flash Player" Yields no results.. Why? ¬_¬
what rom did you install because Adobe Flash is only for 2.2+
thats probz why you cant find it on the market
Wow.. I knew this as well. I feel stupid -.-'
For some reason I thought I was on 2.2 because the "next" step is 2.3.. but Ah well, I blame Sony Ericsson? xD
haha i think all are making us wait for our beloved gingerbread, i can hear my X10 crying because its so hungry poor little guy
Argh! I know right According to thread here on XDA I should be getting it on Friday... Damn having to wait :/
Also, why would the "HDR" camera (Free APP) Be not available for S/E? When I was on a custom ROM I installed the APP but it said it couldn't access certain features needed, I assumed this was because of the Custom ROM?

With a 2.2 rom, video works even better when you add adobe air to the adobe flash 10 too.

Wow, I didn't know that :O
What sort Adobe Air things can the x10 run? I hadn't really looked into air for the x10 as I was happy with having flash xD
Give a look in the market.

Android market silent OTA

Hi!
Since gingerbread update on my DHD I never got the 2.3.6 version of Android Market.
I'm still stuck on 2.3.4.
Is it the same for you?
I'm wondering if there is an OTA bug on DHD, and if we'll be able to get the new market (3.0.27)...
I know that I could just install the APK, but previous "silent" OTA used to work before the gingerbread update, so I wonder why it didn't with v2.3.6...
Thanks for your info!
Thats whats happened to all of us. The reason really is- The Gingerbread FOTA update was released before the new market was announced.
According to sources like engadget and pocketnow , most high end phones should expect the upgrade within the next couple of weeks. If that's too long for you (as is for most of us) you can simply take the .apk which can be found on the forums here.
indeed, manually installing the apk works just fine, i did it myself

Yes, but it doesn't explain why we never got the 2.3.6 after, while the other devices were receiving it with silent OTA.
Does anyone know whether the new Market available on xda is the same as the expected final release?
I really like the interface of the new Market but it feels a little slow at times.
Duncan
I'm still in 2.3.4, whereas everyone is reporting getting the new 3.1.3 version...
Why don't we get any of the latest 3 market OTA?!? Did htc broke the ability of our phones to upgrade themselves?
It seems that the Desire Z has the same issue...
Heard it was only release in the US.
It has been release in the UK only last week and it was only to Samsung devices...

[UPDATE][APP] Android Market 3.1.3

Ice Cream Sandwich

Sooooooo conference is over... I can just image what can be done through development on phones now. Now that the SDK is available, hopfully we will see some ICS this month? Im excited!
What are your favorite features? (If you watched the conference)
Without source code we're basically SOL for a daily driver, but SDK ROMs are cool to check out

The face unlock seems cool but what is your in a dark place like a bar. I hope they have an alternate way to unlocking it in that situation.
The new camera app looks sweet and I love how fast it can snap pictures on the Galaxy Nexus.
Taking out physical buttons was brilliant. Not only does it make the screen bigger but this way you can have what ever buttons you like (fully customizable). Unlike now as I never use the search button on my Dinc.
i Love the idea of the facial recognition, im sure rooted devices could eventually impliment thaf into unlocking apps too.
and when they had the mess up, it looked like it went to the pattern unlock, so i guess thats a back up.
the buttons was also great, much more room for larger screens, but the lack of physical buttons also worries me a bit.
hopefully some nice development will come out of this, so far i think this is the best android version with the most features and ui changes

Someone will get the SDK on the DInc, Gingerbread was on our device by this time of night last year....they're just lagging behind xD

Well, I think it's the ICS apps at least...
Can't wait to so CM8/9 to start showing up. Please make it work on the Incredible.(and the RZR too)
Yeah hope we get some ICS roms soon. Since I'm holding out on a Droid 4 or anything with a QWERTY keyboard, that's not that Samsung toy

If some roms get good enough, i might ditch miui and give it a try. its exciting to see what all has been put into it.
hats off for google!

Here's my question...
The ICS Google Music app was already leaked a couple weeks ago. Will the other updated apps (like Gmail, for example) be made available to Gingerbread users as well (either via apks or official market update)?

Without a front facing camera, facial unlocking doesn't seem practical on our device

I like the new font.
it may not seem practical with our phones, but you could always use the other camera, turn your phone facing you, and hope it recognized you.
the bricked layout is nice, its not as simple as windows phones, but its a great balance between simplicity and advanced customizability.
also i believe some apks in ics will be ported for other android versions too.

Yes, most likely through market updates. Although if your willing to try you could attempt to install the apk from the system dump. I might mess something else up though, and even if it didn't I don't think the gmail widget would work.

Edit: don't try, it won't work unless its Deodexed
I think there were a lot of decent updates but truthfully, my life is run by my calendar and I think that was a great update.. looking forward!

Video of ICS LPQ Firmware running

So.. here's a video I made with screencast for those who are still waiting to flash the ROM and want to see whats in it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAzr0iYr5WQ&feature=g-upl&context=G2c496a4AUAAAAAAAAAA
I removed all of the useless apps using Anttek app manager from the market.
The widgets and wallpapers are exactly the same as the Gingerbread ROM
The bug when changing lockscreen wallpaper is still there
Edit: This is the general section, If you don't like my thread just don't comment and don't watch the video
Great.. was looking for this. thanks for the update
I am using ISC from yesterday and I think it is very useful!
I recommend to install this ROM
I'm using ICS for 2 months now, and I think this thread is ****.
Nice video, thank you for your work.
Thanks for the video but a new thread just for a video? ....

You're right... I'm using AOKP ROMs even if there are these bugs like broken MTP. There still better then the stock crap
I saw that pocketnow (website) also made a video on a S II running the official ICS. But after a few minutes, I got bored. Whenever I will flash my first ICS ROM, I will make it look like stock ICS. Samsung really shouldn't have kept the same old touchwiz...

I know where you're coming from, but I think Samsung would get a lot more grief if they fundamentally changed the launcher as part of the ICS upgrade.
Which makes more sense: keep the launcher the same and annoy a relatively small number of geeks (who have the knowledge required to install a replacement launcher anyway) or change the launcher and annoy the much larger group of "regular" users who treat the device as a tool rather than as a toy?
Your right but i think they should keep the look and feel of tw but add some more options to it. So that tw by itself is more customizable and so there is even no need for new and old users to search an alternative
Have been running ICS for a while now.. and it just slow down my device.. Offical ICS = ****
Thanks for the video!

Unofficially Official Rom

OK I have been reading threads in this forums and I'm sorta lost and annoyed. I read a thread saying that an official update for ICS can brick your phone so you need to do a full reset or something like that. I am confused as to why an official release 'might brick your phone' and I 'should proceed with cautions'. An official release of any OS should be stable and shouldn't cause such issues right?
I am pretty upset that ICS is still yet released for Galaxy Note, not talking about the prototype but the full software and still with the prototype it is 'risky' to update. Honestly I don't bother with custom OS, I prefer official releases and just have it rooted but now I am looking towards 'PARANOIDANDROID' rom, though I haven't flashed it because I'm waiting for it to be updated (so it can play MP4 and other stuff) but still its released faster than the official full ICS and has several features the android people should have added in the begining that are not added to ics. (Only one thing is PA doesn't have SNOTE which is kinda essential to the phone and I don't think the devs will add it) So because of this I also find it really dumb that our warranty is voided if we flash a custom firmware.
I am really confused as to what is happening and am I wrong at some part, can some one explain and post your thoughts about this topic. My point of this thread is just to ask about the 'may brick your phone' part and to see what you guys think about this entire thing with android and their prototypes instead of official releases and cfw. I truely blame android's (or samsung) latesness in releasing the OS for people opting for custom roms than sticking to the official ones. Android really has so much potential since it is 'open' unlike iOS but they are not bringing their A game to the table.

I don't understand the whole thing but it's really scary and i'm now afraid to flash a CFW and i really wanna avoid bricking my phone. Can someone explain it more clearly, from what I understand if we flashed ICS leaks and flash back from recoveries we are bound to have issues??? Am i wrong, can someone explain??
AFAIK.... paranoid rom is cm9 based which is perfectly safe... so worth taking a shot...
Im on paranoid rom too... working great... going to try the updated version tonight
we are on the same page mate...
i prefer stock + root/cwm.... i really dont bother with custom rom...
and this bug is the biggest troll on gnote
thank you kvsandeepreddy for clearing up my doubts, I flashed v1 of PA but lacked a few stuff and am so glad to see v2, but I doubt you can play mp4 files on the stock video player as android needs to release their source code and I really need that feature and hate other players, but anyway hope they would fix it all soon and port SNOTE (which I don't think they will but I keep saying it)
musashiro, I suspect you are still on GB like me and honestly I don't think it's worth it waiting for Samsung to release ICS, first they don't have an exact date for the full release and even if they did release a full update now, PARANOIDANDROID has soo many features that ICS lacks and won't be added.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662802
You can check this page out, it is the ROM, it's super cool and it's screen shots looks promising, also PA has both tablet and phone mode. I find it hypocritical when Samsung promoted the NOTE as a 'Phone? Table?' and force us with a phone mode indirectly making it a phone and making us the same as other normal phone owners when we clearly aren't. So PA sorta fixes it and gives us both phone and tablet mode making it truly a 'Phone? Table?' allowing us to chose which mode we want.

Mate for playing videos use mxplayer app from play store.... i ve been using this player from my first day... i dont even remember using the stock player.... controls are easy too...
And regarding the s pen and others it is not possible because they work only in touchwiz framework and the pa rom is based on cm9 which has nothing to do with samsung.... u can try an app called papyrus beta whic is far better than snote....
Personally i hate the official ics and dint even use it for a day...

I already currently use mxplayer, but I use it to only play .mov videos that I take using my iPad or iPod that I keep on my phone (home movies). I prefer the stock one as it has options for proper resize of videos and looks nice without ads. But thanks anyway for the suggestion and I will checkout papyrus, just hope that at least papyrus allows for proper backup, hope I enjoy PA just as much as you do (you seem like your having the time of your life with it)

It's OK but from screen shots PA looks much more enticing than the stunner and since additionally you advised not to flash it now I will just stick to PA but Supernote looks cool, there is always something in every ROM that I want.... if only there was an ultimate ROM with everything.

Yea I guess your right, hard to please everyone. The entire aosp and aokp and others really confuse me but honestly from what I have seen so far, (alot of YouTube demos of roms) PA looks the best and the PAD on it is a big deal but I decided not to flash v0.2 yet and wait for some more updates as people are commenting on issues with battery and something about SD and internal cards being switched or something and other issues. I really want that rom but the issues people comment about are pretty crucial to be fixed especially battery so I guess I'll just wait for a more stable update. Is it wrong to say v1.0 is a real release and 0.2 is still beta??
