[SOLVED] Clockwork Mod Recovery download - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello!
I've been googling around for a long while now, searching for CWM.
I've found this, in the topic I downloaded the ROM (Hyperdroid): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
But all download links in that topic seem to be offline.
I'd like to ask if someone has a download link for such a package. I need the 150MB version.
Thanks a lot!

use the nand toolkit, , ,choose 150 on the left, click repartition, done.

Okay, I'm going to try that in a minute!
I was told that that only installed MAGLDR and not recovery but it's worth a try!

it does everything, installs magldr, repartitions magldr, installs cLK, task29, whatever you want it to do.

I tried doing that but now it never does anything and gets stuck at "USB Init Failed" :-/
How can I fix that?

Read this sticky:
[FIX] for Nand USB Init Failed .

I already tried that, no change :-/
I'm going to start from scratch now with WM 6.5, see if that works
EDIT: That does not work either...
EDIT2: Oh, sorry, I was missing the WMDC drivers! I'll get started now

dont forget you need teh android drivers for flashing clockwork. Anything you do from the 'real' bootloader (stripey screen) used wmdc drivers, anything you do from magldr requires android drivers.

Need help figuring out what went wrong with Android install

My wife was having trouble with Windows mobile on her HD2 and asked me to flash Android on her phone so it wouldn't constantly crash and what not.
I have:
* HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL
* Radio that support 576 RAM
* DFT MAGLDR Bootloader
* ClockworkMod Recovery
from this guide right here.
And I have installed this ROM via ClockworkMod instead of the ROM mentioned in the first guide because I thought Cyanogenmod 7 would be nicer.
Here is the problem, the phone has been stuck on the "HTC HD2" screen with the Android logo and "MDJ" on the bottom right corner, it has been stuck for over 30 minutes now so I'm going to assume something went wrong, the problem is that I can't figure out what. Does any one have any ideas? was something I did incompatible with anything from the 2 different guides?

I'm sorry...But which part of following the android build developer's instructions do you not get?....Fine, u decided 2 go thru CWR & i commend you for dat but it clearly states in [22 JAN] -=MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 [A2SD+][GRH78C][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.4 OC] thread from which you got the build that you should install thus;
Installation:
You should have at least MAGLDR 1.12 on device.
For installation you need enter MAGLDR (hold power button during boot)
and select "Flasher" via "VolUp" and "VolDown". Confirm key is "green".
(The above instructions means its a DFT build NOT FLASHABLE BY CWR).....
There are 3 videos in the original post detailing HOW to properly flash this rom...Now tell me...why oh why would you go against the original dev's instructions over one posted on a blog site?...
P.S. 4give my ranting but hope i solved your very SIMPLE problem and Yes, Flashing a nand DFT build will remove your CWR installation (which means should u decide 2 flash a CWR based build? u'll have 2 install CWR again.)
You know when I was looking over at all the information again I noticed that too risght after posting this, I guess all the information I just learned made me forget about needing at least MAGLDR 1.12, my bad. I've been looking for guides on how to update to 1.12 or 1.13 I've already downloaded 1.13 but since I can't get into windows anymore I don't know how to update MAGLDR. Can you help me out with that?

For magldr 1.13, boot to bootloader (multi-colured screen) and run the romupdateutility from the download. You will then need to apply the cwm1.3 partition and then boot to AD Recovery to install the rom.
Ok I was able to update to 1.13 through the bootloader, what I don't get is "to apply the cwm1.3 partition" I'm not familiar with the meaning of cwm1.3 since it wasn't mentioned in any of the guides I just read.

It doesn't matter if you have magldr 1.12 or 1.13. What matters is installing daf vs cwm and not daf-cwm.
Based on your first post, you tried installing a daf nand rom via cwm. That is, based on the links you have given. It has been point out also by vocrane on hist post.
I'm sure this is a dumb question but, what is daf?

Daf = daf.exe ie the executable file you click to install a "daf" build as opposed to a zip build which you flash via cwm from your sd card.
PS! you'll find info on cwm 1.3 here
I see, I couldn't find a daf.exe file from the downloads of the ROM I was looking at, does that mean I'll have to find another rom that is flashed via "daf.exe"?
If you need to install the rom via USB Flasher from magldr, it will either have a daf.exe or install.exe file (or should at least). The roms you flash via cwm are in zip format and have afew sub folders which you copy to your sd card (the full unzipped zip file that is) and you then boot into cwm and install the rom from sd card.
I really need to get some sleep, I just found it. I'm flashing it right now.

Here's a quick lowdown...
There r currently 2 main ways u can get android on ur hd2...
Method 1.......Thru sd card (gives u dual-boot options with either WP7 or WinMo 6.5.x
Method 2.......On Nand which installs directly on your device, thereby wiping out WinMo (u've progressed in dis path since u've installed MAGDLR 1.13)....
>>>>>>Method 2 has 2 options;
Option 1......Involves flashing a "DFT Build" via the DAF installer included in the downloaded Build...(D build by Cyanogenmod 7 u pointed out earlier has 2 be installed thru dis method)...
Option 2......Involves flashing a "Zipped Build" via the CWR method...i recommend using builds which have this installation option as they offer more flexibility (full backup & restore)...
Option 1 & Option 2 CANNOT co-exist wit each other...

Another "Please help me" thread

Hi, first of all I'm new here and I'm a complete noob/ignorant, my English is not going to be great and I might have infringed some rule/s with the title of this thread, but I just couldn't think of a better title.
I know you're going to tell me I should've read guides, tutorials, etc, but all this is very new and complicated to me, I'm sorry. I'd appreciate a lot some help, some tips.
The problem seems simple at first: My girlfriend just bought a used HTC HD2 (my idea..), because that's exactly what I did some months ago (with a great success). My idea was to flash TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 on it, because it's the ROM I use and it works very well. The problem is: This used HD2 had already been flashed and it has this ROM running (Tonofu HD 1.3). When I flashed mine I used the PC program "Easy Android" so it was very easy, whereas this one already has Android, MAGLDR 1.13 and all that stuff, so it's not like doing it from the beginning, from the factory-state. Know what I mean? I don't know how to do it from this point.
We downloaded the app ROM Manager but when we tap on "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" it asks us to "Confirm Phone Model" and only HTC Desire appears in that list.
So I said, OK, let's try install ClockworkMod manually (because it's not installed, it seems). And here comes the BIG problem, neither the laptop nor the PC recognize the phone through the USB cable. We tried on both computers, all the ports... and nothing, absolutely nothing appears on the screen. So, of course, when we got into MAGLDR and chose the USB Mass Storage option (so we could install CWM manually) we couldn't do it.
So... how could I install the ROM I want when the phone has already a ROM running? How could I do that without connecting the phone to a computer through USB? Or do you know what might be causing this USB problem? Would a factory reset fix this USB issue? Would it be easier to install the ROM after a factory reset?
A lot of questions, I know... but I need help... I don't have a lot of time... Thank you.

For both via CWR:
Download the *_CWR.zip file onto sdcard
Go into recovery by either holding home key in cLK or using the 8. AD to recovery in MAGLDR
Note: recovery-partition size of minimum 5MB needed
Select Install zip from sdcard
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Navigate/Select the recovery from the sdcard
Select yes to install the recovery
reboot into recovery, and hooray, you are in the new recovery

Ok for some reason I can not get the HTC Mania site to load on my laptop or my Sensation. So I can not see if that ROM that is flashed via a DAF and option #5 USB Flasher in MAGLDR. But if the HD2 does not have CWM installed on it then it must be one. Also if The Mall has went to both option #2 SD AD and option #8 AD Recovery in MAGLDR and there is now recovery then the process that geniusjl discribed will not work as it is no CWM to flash CWM with. Besides if CWM is already installed The Mall would not have this problem.
Now back to the original question of what to do. First go and download the HD2 NAND Toolkit. Install the toolkit on you computer and open it up. Look at the bottom right corner of the toolkit window and click on Download Drivers and then follow the instructions to install the drivers. This will allow your computer to recognize the HD2 when you plug it up via USB. Next click on MAGLDR Update Recovery at the top of the toolkit window and then connect you HD2 via USB to your computerand click on update at the bottom left hand cornewr of the toolkit window. Follow all the on screen instructions and this will flash CWM 4.0.0.0 to your HD2. Then you can download the ROM you want and place it on the root of your SD card and use CWM to flash it.
Thanks! I'm going to try.
Damn.. we have a problem, we installed the Toolkit but when clicking on Download Drivers the link is broken. (cdn.nex.im/hd2_installer/download/hd2_drivers_ksubedi.zip)
Do you know another site we can download the drivers from?
Edit: I finally found this source: mediafire.com/?jf8xbyo2ro0z01z
Edit2: No, that's not it... damn, I need somewhere to download the drivers from.
I can't find any website to download the drivers from. HD2 NAND Toolkit takes me to a broken link so I can't download them. Help, please?

navigate to "clean install cLK", download the package. and you will find the driver included in the package. that driver should work too.

[q] y u no make me root??

Hey Guys,
at first, i hope this question isnt coming again and again, but i couldn't find anything helpful (for ME!) yet.
I have the HTC HD2 and got really tired of Windows Phone 6.5, so i changed it to Android. (Took me weeks to figure that out until it worked)
My current ROM:
Android 2.2 HTC Desire
Kernel 2.6.32.15 by cotulla
I use Magdlr and boot from NAND.
Superuser Elite is installed (bought it), but i cant update it - no matter what i do, it wont let me be root. I even tried the terminal, but when i type in "su" it directly says "permission denied". The problem is, my phone memory is low and i cant install apps directly on the sd-card (never found a guide how to get this automatically done).
What can i do??
i am rly desperate... the sad thing is, my boyfriend (yes, i am a girl) isnt much into smartphone stuff though he's got the new htc sensation - and also not into unix / linux systems - it seems all the guys i know besides only use an iPhone and google won't be my friend...
PLS PLS PLS HELP ME!
oh and sry for the bad language, grammar etc - i'm german ;-)
that is an old, out of date rom. It was the first proof of concept release when cotulla created magldr, so i would advise you to move to a different more recent rom. (We now have roms running android 2.3, 3 and even some early android 4 roms.)
There are very very few roms that flash in quite the same way, now, so you would need to learn about flashing CWM(clockwork, clockworkmod, clockwork recovery, it has several names)
Go get the 'android toolkit' from the android nand section, and then go read some of the guides from HERE

Old, outdated ROM with no root access. Use a newer one.
Yep its an old ROM. Don't worry though, you'll be able to redownload superuser on a new ROM. Just do what Sam says and it'll work fine. Surprised you even knew that you could flash android on to the hd2, because "you're a girl".
= What are you even doing asking whether or not you should root your phone on XDA?! =
ok guys thank you for the detailed informations!
i didnt know the rom is outdated - i guess installing a new one is the best idea in that case. i thought of that before, but it took me so long to get this one working so i wasn't in the mood for re-installing yet.
THANK YOU all, i will let you know if it worked - in case i cant fix this, would someone be able to help me via teamviewer?

I'm pretty sire you won't need to give remote access, you'll be able to do it. All you'll need is the latest magldr 1. 13 (if I'm not mistaking)
Once you've got that, you just need to flash the clockwork mod daf file from usb flasher on magldr, then when you flash into clockwork its easy, just flash a zip file.
You can backup ROM's etc. from clockwork so its really convenient.

I totally crashed it!!
Hi Guys - it has happened
i totally crashed my hd2.
what i did:
i read the guides and got the newest android nand toolkit. so, i performed task29 and installed hspl, then clk. the problem now is: i cant do anything else! when i boot, i get this white clk screen where i can choose recovery normal or sboot. i cant repartition, my phone has no connection when i switch into the mode "with the 3 colours"... so - i can copy to sd card what i want, i can perform every task with the toolkit, even the backup rom for the original windows phone doesnt help because it says: "pls check that you're phone is connected via usb". my pc has the android usb drivers, it shows the device, all ok. i cant go into usb flasher because it seems, no magldr is installed - i tried and tried so many things and now i cant even perform a wipe.
seems i need to give you remote access anyway....
PLEASE! help me!
if you need screenshots i will upload them, just let me know.
Start from the beggining by reflasing with the 3 colours on the screen, im no expert and I use magloader not clk, so try doing a fresh one with magloader and see how it goes

Plug the phone into the PC. Hold the back arrow key after turning the phone on to boot to fastboot . Then either try flashing Cwm via the NAND toolkit or do it manually through fastboot.

ERROR: ERROR: Cannot read ramdisk image

Hello guys,
Does anyone know what does this message mean:"ERROR: ERROR: Cannot read ramdisk image"?
It appeared on my HD2 while I was installing an Android ROM on it and now I cannot run any other OS on it but Windows Mobile. I tried Google but had no luck. Only one person as far as I understood experienced this problem but I have no reply from him and I am not even sure if he managed to solve the problem anyway.
So, if anyone knows something about it I would be happy to hear. Any help would be useful. Thanks in advance!

Did u flashed radio ?
I reflashed radio, did task29, flashed hspl, flashed Magldr, flashed stock WM ROM from my PC, then again from sd card and no result. WM ROM works ok but that's it. No Android or WP7 can be flashed. In order to be more specific, here is what I do:
1. HSPL 2.08
2. task29 with Radio 2.15
3. Magldr
4. CWM
And when I try to enter AD Recovery from the Magldr menu I receive the message I mentioned in my first post and there is nothing more to be done but using the phone with WM which in my opinion makes out of my HD2 a piece of crap.

Let mi simple u Task29 and Radio Rom
Task 29 - When u do task 29 to phone u delete everything even radio rom. So the thing u need to do is do this for magldr :
-Task29
-Radio Rom
-Magldr
-CWM
-Wipe
-Flash Rom
-Calibrate battery (some roms do it itself)
If it will make u easier i can make tutorial but im pretty much sure there is milions of them .
Try that way and report if it worked . Its 30min process.
EDIT: HD2 powered by WM is crippled yea. Android is far superiour even withou cam. But let me tell u one thing first thing why i tooked HD2 is Windows by stock and customization possible. Didnt carred about low battery etc. Windows is till now unbeatable bussines platform. iOs is near but its not it. Android hard to get bussines capable like windows 7. What I mean windows is bussines ready,iPhone is kinda ready and on android u have to customize like hell to get everything (at least what I as system admin need)
Task29 does not delete your radio. I was sure of it because I had flashed my phone a lot of times in the past, but anyway, I tried your method and the result was the same. When I install Magldr and then CWM, the phone does not let me enter the CWM menu so I cannot continue with the flashing of the Android ROM itself. It is just not possible without CWM. I also tried cLK method but when I press and hold the home key, the phone restarts and I get to a dead end once again. Thanks for your help anyway.
As far as WM is concerned, there is absolutely no chance for me to use this phone with this OS. if I cannot find a way to manage the problem I will just sell the phone and buy a native Android one which will make things much easier for me.
Best regards

It is all the same which one because when you are not able to enter the CWM menu you cannot install anything, but for instance, let's say this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264828
I had problems booting that rom too. Try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326217 almost perfect. Mwakious has some bugs i w8 for him to fix it
You don't follow what I say. I cannot enter CWM menu so I cannot even start flashing any ROM, it doesn't matter which one it is.
Merry Christmass by the way!
Which windows mobile u have/had ? Can u run android from sd ? Can u tell me exact procedure u tried to install nand android? If u want to try ffaster u can pm me to send u skype or gtalk.
Hi
I have the same issue, in bootloader on ad recovery.. i get cannot read ramdisk image, I will not uninstall ANDROID, because I will no longer support android, if I can not install any other roms
Any other advice, but to not lose my actual ROM!!!!
PS: I had installed ROM Manager latest, and installed clockwork from rom manager, Till then the recovery worked....
Had the same problem yesterday. I used the HD2 Toolkit to repartition, by the way it installs Recovery 5.
Then everything worked fine.

Could you please explain me step by step how exactly you managed to solve the problem. I installed HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1 and try to use Update recovery function but the console that opens after I start the process freezes and I cannot continue. There is an explanation in it saying that probably the USB connectin is not good. However I use the USB flasher in Magldr menu for this connection between the phone and the PC and I don't know another way to connect both devices for the installation process. Is there something that I am missing?
By the way The message that I receive now when I try to open CWM changed from "...cannot read ramdisk image" to "...cannot read kernel image". Does it make any difference?
Thanks in advance!

For this question I do not know any answer, but for USB Connection I know because I had the same problem:
Put your phone in debugging mode.. and connect it to PC..
Use usbdeview to delete any android drivers from that list..
Then in device manager find any new hardware, and right click, and update: Browse my driver manually> Let me pick my driver> find the driver from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783 find "Download Drivers By T-Macgnolia", and after that you need to find Android Driver installed in device manager, after that hd2 toolkit will work.
Solution
You have to copy the files in the. Zip attachment inside the SD.
Make the whole process as usual, but instead choose the option you choose AD Recovery Boot option AD DS.
This way you can access the recovery menu and load the rom.
regards
Thx a lot!!!
This worked for me- just perfect!!!
Mikel
Worked for me as well, thanks very much, I was about to see how far the phone could fly.
Thanks

I fixed my error like a charm.
Had the same problem
Thank you, this realy helped me out!

[Q] Issue with HTC HD2 while flashing for Android

Hey there!
I got some trouble while flashing my HD2 with Android. I processed after a step-to-step instruction using NAND Toolkit.
After i`ve installed the 3.03. HSPL i wiped it (task29).
Then i installed the Radio 2.15.50.14 ROM. At this point i think something went wrong:
The MAGLDR installation runs trough, but after that the MAGLDR Menu doens't shows up.
Can u tell me, where i made a mistake or how i can completely delete my HSPL-Version to start over?
Greets and thanks,
Pascal

You need to flash HSPL 2.08, not 3.03.

I tried it before, but since then i always get the message, that the usb connection failed. So because of that i asked, if it is possible to delete the HSPL completely or change the version.

I think that you have to select run as administrator when right clicked the icon. Try that.

It says i got a bad SPL-Version, because i already flashed it to 3.03 HSPL. How can i remove that? Admin rights doesn't affect that.
reg
Flash original ROM via SD, you will have original SPL. Try to install HSPL then.

Not to be rude, but all of the information can be found via google or xda-search (you can find custom HD2 search by following the link in my sig.).
Edit:
To flash a rom from SD-card, download a compatible official winmo rom, rename .ruu to .zip and extract the .nbh file. Rename to LEOIMG.nbh, put it on the root of your SD card and boot.
To install HSPL, use the HD2ToolKit (google it) and use the "Install HSPL" option.

Yes, it's that easy to give YOU little instructions. But it becomes a PITA when everyone is asking for the same thing over and over.

Hm yeah right... obvious
So thanks btw, i hope it works, it's not my phone
Make sure not to flash a radio! Or else you might brick if you flash the wrong one
Hi there again!
Everything worked good so far, i got the standard SPL VErsion, flashed to 2.08 HSPL, was able to install MAGLDR and so on.
After installing a ROM now it stucks at the htc-Logo. For the repartion i used 250 MB system size and 45 mb cache. Could that be a problem?
And i supect another thing. The phone was telekom branded and bought in Germany, but i had to choose EU or Telekom US. I decided for Telekom US. Could this be the problem? I also read things about wrong SD-size but mine is 16 GB and should work fine...
So can you tell me what my problem could be?
Thanks
What ROM did you install?
You must repartition the NAND according to the ROM, not from your mind.
And are you sure the ROM doesn't require an sd-ext partition?
Did you choose the correct option (i.e. Nand, or NativeSD)
Tmo and Eu are basically: Tmo will install ALL to NAND, whereas EU will install some to NAND and some to SD.
