K920 or Droid Turbo

Good day all,
I am highly doubting between two phones here, the Droid Turbo or the K920 to buy. I am a student, so if I choose a phone it is for the long run.
I made a list myself between the two but can't finish it since every review of the K920 is not objectified because customers are mainly complaining about software-related issues (if I buy the K920 I will reflash the crap out of it)
Pro's Droid Turbo
- Reliable brand (no worries for the 'wrong' version)
- 21 MP camera
- Super AMOLED for better lasting battery
Cons Droid Turbo
- Camera does not have OIS, only DIS through 3rd party advanced camera app
- Smaller screen 5.2" instead of 6" (K920)
___________________________________________
Pro's K920
- 6" Screen
- OIS camera
- 4000mah
Cons K920
- Risk in buying the non-ROW version
- Requires reflash but no stable custom ROM <-- this is one I lack info on
- Risk in hardware issues (?) <-- this is one I lack info on
- 16mp camera instead of 21mp
IMO K920 is a great phone, good hardware without major issues.
But, was launched in 2014, and Lenovo latest android release is 5.0.1. ROW version is pretty rare to find.

Proposal to solve the problem of the camera in Oreo ROMs

I just have an idea. And I want to post it here and find if it is possible.
I understand that Moto Z Play has the same camera lens as the Moto G4 Plus.
They have a rear camera OmniVision OV16860, and a front camera OminVision OV5693.
With that said, they share the same hardware in terms of camera.
Is there any way to port the Oreo camera drivers from the Moto Z Play to our devices?
Anybody has tried this?
Thanks.
From the many posts I've read in the forum, the camera issue is connected to our chipset and not the camera hardware. The snapdragon 617 is a pretty sh*tty chipset and all the devices that use them have pretty much zero development and vendor support. I guess those guys are all waiting for athene to get Oreo. Guess we're out of luck. BTW correct me if I'm wrong. At least this'll serve as a bump to this thread.
I Found the perfect combination for a smoth Pie Rom with a totally fast an functionally camera (photos and video) no lag and instant functionally gestures (even instant Chop chop for flash light!)
I am so happy about it!
Since I installed Oreo ROMs I was suffering cause I couldn't use the camera properly and some other functions of my Moto g4+.
I had read that because Qualcomm 617 chipset has very little attention from official developers then the camera shows incompatibilitys and then works wrong in custom ROMs (even in stock rom soak 8.1)
In January 14th they published AOSIP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo.../rom-android-source-illusion-project-t3889942)
In combination of this great Rom and a zip I found to flash in TWRP of Moto camera 2 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/pixel-gapps-rom-t3731231 - find the Moto camera 2 download link) I accomplished what I was trying since I installed Oreo in my device...
This camera probably works in any arm64 Rom... But I love AOSIP so far and that's what I have Install to experiment with the camera zip)
Off course the world isn't perfect so I can't paste url Chrome links in lawnchair (AOSIP it's probably based in some Rom with that problem... Some of then have it and some of them not) but I can live without it for today.
So if you're frustrated because the camera issue of Moto g4 plus... This solve it!
Asus Camera port is also useful. No green images!

Google Pixel Camera Mod with flash on while focusing?

I did not find a single Pixel Mod with capabilities of turning on flash while tap focussing on the screen, I feel lot of difficulties while focussing during night on Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.
If someone find or have developed the app with this feature please share a link here.
Thankyou

Battery drain query?

I'm planning to buy a new device and options include Realme 2 pro & Asus Pro Max 2. I like the rear camera of Realme but have read that there are battery issues. Has battery efficiency improved after update?
Thanks
No.
Battery issues still persist in the Realme 2 Pro.
My personal advise would be to buy Asus Pro M2 not just for its 5000 mAh battery but also it has better hardware than RM2Pro and also Stock Android.
BEWARE of the ColorOS of Realme. It is full of BUGS, it lacks basic FUNCTIONS/FEATURES, and is completely INCONVENIENT ( In short --- ColorOS is the WORST custom UI skin of all )
Plus Realme is SUPER SUPER SUPER SLOW in providing updates for fixing the Bugs and Issues of their ColorOS. In fact they are not even concerned about fixing so many MAJOR bugs & Issue of the ColorOS.
Trust me. You will have a Very Very Very Bad user experience in using Realme phone. Rather you should go for Asus Pro M2.
All The Best.

Thanks, Will wait for the rear camera update on Pro M2 to check feedback as rear camera reviews are not favourable.

Decision is all yours mate.
All The Best :good:
Bought Realme 2 pro recently, and was facing battery drain issue.
On doing something unintuitive, battery drain issue got solved!
What I did - went to battery settings, and turned off Smart Power Saver.
Let me know if it works for someone.

Working Gcam for Oppo Reno Z?

Hey guys I've got 2 friends who have the oppo reno z and I want to show them how much better their camera could be with Gcam
Although I couldn't seem to find a version appropriate for the Reno Z
But I also don't want to use their phones and just start testing random gcams in the hopes one works.
Does anyone know of or have a link to a working gcam? even it's just the main sensor that'll be better than nothing.
Thanks in advanced
