What is tp_SPY_SYN3KT0103.img file in Sprint 2.2 RUU? - EVO Shift 4G General

In the Sprint Official 2.2 RUU (PG06IMG.zip) one of the .img files is tp_SPY_SYN3KT0103.img. What is this file?
I have tried quite a few ways to extract it with no joy.
Also, there are two other .img files that begin tp, does this prefix have special meaning?

Yes this the wrong section to post in . That being said, what are you trying to accomplish?

I hope I have not offended the forum keepers, but I rarely post and the contents of a Factory RUU file certainly seem like dev stuff to me...
I'm not trying to accomplish anything, I am just curious as to what these tp img files contain - ecpecially when one of them has the word SPY in it.
I cannot seem to unpack or mount the img file, trying ext2, ext3, ext4, unyaffs, yaffsutils, yaffs2utils, & ext4utils - so I figured someone in this forum could just say what the img files are for, I assumed the knowledge was here.

Who can share Magic NADROID 32B dump?

[Q] XTC S-off file share please!!!

Hi
Can an XTC clip owner/user please share PC49DIAG.img, PC49Diag.nb0, PC49IMG.nb0. I have searched high and low for these but cannot find them, nor how to create them. Also a hex image of sdcard may be useful. Could be large upload consider using a torrent.
Thanks in advance
and
what's the point in having these files??
i mean , why do you want them?
sorry 4 my english
Here you have PC49DIAG.zip --> http://download.hellshare.com/pc49diag-zip/2375740/ i think that this zip contains that 3 files you want... im downloading now
sorry fail... inside that zip there are these files
android-info
boot.img
radio.img
rcdata.img
recovery.img
splash1.nb0
system.img
userdata.img
Yeah, I have found pc49diag as you have, but I don't think its genuine, its just a renamed ROM. Isn't PC49DIAG an unlocking program? Can it help with root? Although it may be phone specific, is it linked to CID or IMEI or something?
If it is can it be spoofed or are these files useless to me?
Still want to see them even if they are, out of curiosity?

You need the device to S-OFF, The files are just to move the phone into Diagmode from HBOOT.
However you need the XTC device in order to remove security.(It connects to the sim slot)

Ok u r working on froyo root. Thats great.
I don't know about the use of those files, but i think they should not have any role in rooting / unlocking. Because wildfire doesnt have the fastboot flash rooting support.
And about pc49img.zip (not the one u asked), it is just a zip file to be recognised by wildfire fastboot menu. It encloses custom files for updating wildfire different things as per the users need. (hboot, radio, recovery). Also flashes custom recovery in s-off devices.
U need to tell the purpose while asking those above files, otherwise u will be more likely getting roms, radios, recoveries..... what u meant by "genuine file" is the purpose there.
[correct me if im wrong]. OK GOOD LUCK FOR THE ROOT.
Look for "Skye's Full XTC Clip Rooting/CROM guid" topic @ the development section, 2nd post.

Its not working because you have a radio.img file, you can only flash .img files with fastboot,
You need to download the zip files I made in my radio thread Here and rename the files in my thread. Read the instructions in the OP.

that script is already included in dsixda kitchen....the problem is that the kitchen extracts the updata.app and a "out" folder (where there are some files, among them system.img).
the most important problem is that i can't extract system.img with dsixda.

It should be (I haven't checked it myself) an ext3 image, which you can just mount under Linux anyway.

just tested on ubuntu. i have obtained the system.img but i had some issues extracting updata.app and i don't have the boot.img
I not open please video or photo
ı'm using ubuntu latest version
I am trying to sort this out now, but not getting so far. Looks to me that the hash locations found in the script are wrong so it is not finding boot.img and other files and is breaking the script.
http://www.zebadger.com/android/scripts/split_updata.txt
Code:
my %fileHash=( "\x00\x00\x00\x10","appsboot.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\x20","file25.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\x30","boot.img",
"\x00\x00\x00\x40","system.img",
"\x00\x00\x00\x50","userdata.img",
"\x00\x00\x00\x60","recovery.img",
"\x00\x00\x00\xC0","file11.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xD0","file08.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xE0","file05.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF0","file04.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF1","file07.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF2","splash.raw565",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF3","file01.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF4","file02.mbn",

"\x00\x00\x00\xF6","boot_versions.txt",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF7","upgradable_versions.txt",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF8","file09.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xF9","version.txt",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFA","file20.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFB","appsboothd.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFC","file23.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFD","file16.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFE","file18.mbn",
"\x00\x00\x00\xFF","file21.mbn",
);
Have looked through the update.app with a hex editor, but not seeing anything that correlates to those lines. Can find boot.img etc, but they are referenced differently. Will look at if hex dump is a different thing and see if it references boot.img properly. If we could get this working, we could make a lot more custom roms as it would be easier to make them in the kitchen using official huawei files with mods.
Ok so system.img can be mounted using furius iso in linux on a loop setting, not a fuse one. Now to try and find the boot.img
http://android.modaco.com/topic/311...s-new-version-of-split-updatapl/page__st__180
See last post, unless he is only joking/being sarcastic, looks like we may get some support for our update.app files for the u8800 in zebadgers script. would be great if we could get full support in the android kitchen for our phone
Ok, last one for now, spent whole afternoon combing through scripts and hex editor readouts. Still not much closer. I can find a couple of files in zebadgers script that if you rename them to boot.img (F0, F3 and F4) will let the script do its job, but they are clearly not the boot.img, too small and not right.
There are still four mystery files named unknown_file 0-3 and 2 look to be the correct size for a kernel/boot.img but I dont know where they come from. They are not from the filehashes in my above post.
hi paul....so did you managed to obtain the system.img from update.app?
which script have you used?
about the boot.img: i don't think that it is absolutely necessary....i can copy my boot.img through the pink screen and use it in the dsixda kitchen. is that right?
ps: i think that the boot.img of the B512 is the same of the B540...isn't it?

Hi!
I would like to create a boot animation that uses the basic J5 bootloop.
I would need you to convert the .qmg to .png and send to me. It's very simple with this app created by @xperiacle (Original thread). I would do it myself but the ROM used to convert the file must be either stock or stockish to work and I would lose so many settings, tweaks etc. by flashing stock and then back. As a reward I would of course hit the thanks button, send you the animation (if you please) and honor you as my savior for life! Also if you have an idea or reasonable preference(s) for the boot animation, I will make it happen.
Anyways here are the instructions stolen from the original thread (don't kill me xperiacle!):
"So just download the app(Qmg2Png), install, and pick an apk(Extract_this.apk) from sdcard and the app will extract the qmg resources and convert them to png format and saving them in the QMg2Png folder in the sdcard. The output folder retains the folder structure of the extracted apk."
Thank you in advance! Peace! :good:

If you want the stock boot animation then download the relevant firmware and pull it out of the system.img.
Please don't ask me to guide you how as there are plenty already out there.

It's in the .qmg format. There is no other way to extract it that I know of. Bootanimation.zip? No problem. Qmg? Pain in the ass.
Edit: just to be clear the stock rom uses an encoding/decoding method for qmg files that don't exist in custom roms nor is it used by any other than samsung phones. But anyhow it is not the end of the world for me if I don't get it extracted. Then I just focus on some other ideas for animations.

It's in the stock system image. All you need do is extract it.
@ashyx You just don't get it.. I have already extracted it from the system img. I need to convert the qmg to png files to edit it. Read my posts more carefully to understand.

OK let me ask you this?
What is preventing yourself from making a backup of your device with twrp which literally takes minutes, install the rom you require, do what you need and then simply restore?
@ashyx You are right but I don't want to flash any rom since when I do, I get this weird issue with my screen; I am unable to turn it off and it seems to be a matter of luck to get it working again. Thank you anyways! https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/help/screen-help-t3585090
