Can't install Facebook App - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everybody
Well I've got a little problem... I flashed a new ROM (HyperDroid CM7 - SandyScorpion v6.0.0. - cLK-magdlr-aroma - tweaked ROM (EXTREME Edit) - Kernel 2.6.32.15_14_S-R9 ([email protected]) - Android 2.3.7 - with the hacked Market/Play store (version 2.3.5).
I've got a 1024mb ext3 partition were the ROM automatically installs all the apps. So my problem now is, that I can't install the facebook app: Downloading it from the market it says "Invalid file package" and installing it as a standalone .apk it says "app not installed". I already tried to delete the cache of the market and google framework… is the only way out a wipe of the whole data and a clean re-install of the ROM or is there any other way?
Thank you

Does nobody got an idea?

[Q] problem: apps fail to install from market

hi, i installed mdeejays android version succesfully, however some apps fail to install via market.
for example angry birds and the latest facebook app. the smaller apps will install without any problem. but the important apps wont. what can i do about this?
i read something about unmounting SD card. i tried that. But still got the problem.
What should i do?
I really want the facebook 1.5.0 app
tnx
Do you get an error or do they just stuck on 100% after downloading?

I get an error. But sometimes the download just cancels itself.
however, the main problem is the error. because i could download the apk file via rapidshare etc.
But the problem is the error. the error says after the install bar runs:
Application did not install. (in dutch)
The other problem, with the download cancelling is like this:
when selecting an app for download, the download bar starts running.
But after a few seconds the download bar disappears by itself. so eventually, the app never reaches my phone. in fact the download never completes.
so there are 2 problems. but the first problem is worse than the second.
However, it would be great if you could help me to solve them both.
First problem: i get an error when installing certain apps.
second: My downloads from the market wont complete.
sorry for any weird sentences, english is not my first language.
Kinda glad to know that I'm not the only one with the same problem... still trying to figure out what happened.
I know a clean install will fix the problem but I don't want to go through that again...
My phone is a Motorola Milestone running CM6 10.12.22
i just did a clean install from the latest android out there (darkstone superram 0.1) with the dutch vodafone data mod and i cannot download a single byte from the market. the market itself works fine over wifi or G3, but all files refuse to download.
thing that sucks as well is that i have the apk for applanet on the sd card but a cannot get to it as the darkstone lacks a sd card explorer app....
When that happened to me, Market reported an error -18. An online search recommended deleting a hidden directory ".android_secure" on the SD card. I'm running CM6.1 on a CDMA Hero with most of my apps running from the SD. From what I found online, that secure stuff is for Froyo apps2sd... which is why some apps downloaded and installed okay, and why some apps downloaded, but failed to install.
You can also try some cache dumps including Dalvik. Run "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager. Then try the downloads again. If that still doesn't work, you might want to delete the ".android_secure" hidden directory.
Make sure to do a Nand backup and copy the contents of the SD card onto your computer before attempting any fix. Play it safe.
Good luck.

[SOLVED] Market 3.1.5 download problem

Hi guys, I have a problem with installing apps form the Market app (3.1.3 and 3.1.5 tested) - and no this is not the constantly downloading issue.
( issue also posted in cyanogenmod Desire HD forum [although it seems dead there]
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/34460-market-315-problems/ )
I'm just trying to move from ARHD to CM7.
My problem is that I cannot install ANYTHING from the android market app - I simply get an error' "'[name of app]" could not be downloaded due to an error'.
However, my backed up apps do get restored from Google at first launch AND I can install apps OTA using market website.
I have tried the latest stable CM7 and nightly 230 with same problems on both ROMs
Also, before anybody runs through the usual nonsense, I have cleared the market app cache and data / cleared dalvik cache / cleared cache but the problem still exists
info:
recovery > install zip > full_wipe_1.5_EXT4.zip
install zip > [cyanogenmod ROM]
reboot > set up wifi > reboot recovery
install zip > gappsgb20110828signed.zip
reboot > sign in Google (wifi) > OK to install apps > Accept market ToC [even from here NO APPS will install, not even Gmail]
details:
Desire HD
4EXTRecovery v2.1.3 RC2 [ now on latest v5 CWM ]
tried Market 3.1.5 / 3.1.3
tried update-cm-7.1.0-DesireHD-signed.zip and cm_ace_full-230.zip
UPDATE:
OK so my Market seems to have now miraculously fixed itself, I have just managed to download 6 apps (some quite large) and performed manual updates to some system installed apps.
No idea what happened....

Please help - Titanium won't install in imilka's CM9 V.02

Hi all,
This should probably be in imilka's thread, but I can't post there as a new user. Since upgrading to his CM9 V.02, titanium refuses to open, and when I uninstall I can't reinstall from market, which gives the error 'Insufficient storage available'. I can install other apps fine from market, I have more than enough memory, I tried wiping market data and cache, and I even tried wiping dalvik cache and reflashing gapps from CWM. No luck. Can't install the apk from non market sources either, where the error is similarly to do with freeing up memory. I wiping titanium files from the sd, and searched for more in the root dir, but couldn't find any.
Running out of options for this one indispensable app - please help!
Thank you

Weird issue indeed. Installs just fine on my CM9.
Have you tried copying the .apk file to /data/app/ (+ reboot)

try using an application to set the install location on the external SD and check if it gives you the same message, this is probably caused due to lack of space a common issue in android.
Thanks for your very helpful replies, guys. I went back to the data/app folder and found a com.keramidas file (or something like that) which I deleted. Now installs from market no problems.
Thanks so much

He meant the file with .odex extension which is like a leftover.

Market problems on Utopia 1.0

OK, so I tested a few ROMs and decided to go back to Utopia 1.0.
I wiped everything and then flashed using the fastboot files.
The problem is: when I run the market (or Google Play) I can´t install TB, Angry Birds and most the apps I had on my phone before the wiping. The Google says: Device not compatible. I had this problem before, but I fixed (just don´t know how!).
Could anyone help me? What is happeing?
Thnx!
Got it!
Ok, here is how I finally fixed:
Flashed another rom that had Google Play working properly;
Used Titanium Backup to make a copy of GP on my sd;
Flashed Utopia 1.0;
Install TB from a apk file in my SD and then restore Google Play (app only);
Run Google Play for the first and everything was there.

can you mount data in cwm if yes goto next step - if no flash stock rom via odin and do the install process all over again
if data can be mounted to fix 492 error do the following
open phone settings
goto applications
manage applications
select all tab
in the following apps clear data and cahe
google play services
google play store
google services framework
delete .android_secure from the root of your sd card (requires a browser that can show hidden files - the folder name starts with a dot)
go into cwm
format cache and delvik cache
mount system
flash the correct gapps
if all else fails flash stock rom via odin and start the install process again
for "error parsing package" it means one of two things
1 - the apk is for an android version higher than the one installed
2 - the apk is for armv7 only
