Please help - Titanium won't install in imilka's CM9 V.02 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hi all,
This should probably be in imilka's thread, but I can't post there as a new user. Since upgrading to his CM9 V.02, titanium refuses to open, and when I uninstall I can't reinstall from market, which gives the error 'Insufficient storage available'. I can install other apps fine from market, I have more than enough memory, I tried wiping market data and cache, and I even tried wiping dalvik cache and reflashing gapps from CWM. No luck. Can't install the apk from non market sources either, where the error is similarly to do with freeing up memory. I wiping titanium files from the sd, and searched for more in the root dir, but couldn't find any.
Running out of options for this one indispensable app - please help!
Thank you

Weird issue indeed. Installs just fine on my CM9.
Have you tried copying the .apk file to /data/app/ (+ reboot)
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

try using an application to set the install location on the external SD and check if it gives you the same message, this is probably caused due to lack of space a common issue in android.

Thanks for your very helpful replies, guys. I went back to the data/app folder and found a com.keramidas file (or something like that) which I deleted. Now installs from market no problems.
Thanks so much

He meant the file with .odex extension which is like a leftover.

[Solution] Applications and games owned by this account will appear here

I have had this issue for a very long time and could not find a lasting and solid solution. After researching the problem for a few weeks I found a solution that worked for me, finally.
The issue seems to have triggered when I used the Titanium Backup Pro Market tools to unlink and link apps to my market account and system apps were added by accident. This should work with any app that can link and unlink apps to and from the Market.
Here is the step-by-step solution for TB Pro:
1) Go to Market Tools -> Market Doctor and Unlink all User & System apps.
2) Reboot device.
3) Open any Root Explorer or Browser and locate and delete the file "market_assets.db" in "/data/data/com.android.vending/databases".
4) Reboot device.
5) Go to TB Pro and to Market Tools -> Market Doctor -> User Apps and link all the User Apps that you installed on your device from the Android Market. Make sure that no System App is linked.
6) Reboot device.
Then the apps you have linked to your account will appear again in Your Apps of the Market after a few minutes. If they do not then install a new free app or a free app that you had previously installed and uninstalled and your apps should appear soon.
In my case I had used all proposed solutions with no luck and this was the only solid solution. I used TB Pro and Root Browser Lite to do this. You could probably use MyBackup for free (30 days trial) to do the same process but if you had this issues chances are that you already have an app that can unlink and link apps from the market.
I hope this sorts out your issue too
Edit 6 FEB 2012: This solution is temporary unfortunately. The cause of the problem is linking apps to the market that were not downloaded from the market or linking to the market from a backup that is quite old/corrupted. To sort this out there is an app now and you can find it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22178757&postcount=162
It is called Market Fixer and it detects market links that are problematic and removes them to restore the My Apps functionality in the Market.
Cool thanks, I had already found that solution by myself and it works fine, but doesn't survive a hard reset, meaning everytime I flash a new rom with full wipe the problem comes back and I have to go through this again...
I tried to use another account with a full wipe and no problem, so my account must be screwed for life.
Thanks titanium

Also, with market enabler I can see paid apps and even install previous bought apps but cannot buy anything.
With 2 accounts setup at the same time, I can mysteriously buy apps !!!
If I delete the second account, bam, I can't buy anymore.
Looks like the simple presence of a "clean" account sorts things out for the corrupted one...

This hasn't occurred to me at any point. I can always purchase apps from the Market.

This is strange. Are you looking in the internal SD card? What rom are you running and which version of the Market you have installed?

I am using Root Explorer. From "/" i navigate to "/data/data/com.android.vending/".
At that folder is see these sub-folders:
app_carrier_billing
app_sslcache
app_uri_url_map
cache
lib
But there is no databases sub-folder.
I am using DarkyROM 10.4.2 and Market version is 3.4.4.
@Vrayhem
I'm not sure yet but it seems to work.
I had too much disappointment to excite me too.
But thank you very much for your job.
@ledbrv
What root browser to you use?
If it is ES Explorer you can't search file in root system with it.
Choose "Root Browser Lite"
Bye

You are missing the folders databases and shared_prefs then. What happens if you try to create an empty folder there called databases?
Alternatively you can search for the file "market_assets.db" to see where it is saved at. Root browser lite has both search and create new folder functions.
I use Root Explorer.
I created the "databases" folder under /data/data/com.android.vending/ and rebooted. Nothing happened. No files appeared inside databases. Then I "Force stop" and "Clear data" of Market app and reboot. After that databases folder disappears again.

This can only be explained by the fact that you are using a custom rom which is probably based on a previous stock rom than the one we have or it has been modified to affect that part of the market.
I also had an Android Market account corruption where apps I never purchased or never downloaded appeared in my apps when I logged into my account on the PC. Some of those apps would appear under my Apps in the Market for a long time. What I did was flash the latest rom XLA4 with Mobile Odin Pro (to not lose root), flash the CF root kernel to restore CWM functionality, wipe internal sd card/apps/data/factory reset/dalvik cache, install all the apps I wanted through the Android Market account on my PC and then follow the procedure I mention in my first post here. Now (today in fact) I checked my Android Market account online and all the "fake" apps are gone, the duplicates are gone and everything is in place. Also the Market on my phone is working great with no issues and all the apps I linked are there.
Hi,
One day after the changes, the market on my phone is still working great with no issues.
Just a point, system applications are considered not installed.
It seems to me that before this kind of application was not in the list of installed applications on the market or unable to uninstall.
Could you tell me what you think about and if I have to do something?

System applications should not appear in your apps unless you updated an app like Youtube or Maps at some point, so that it will give you the option to uninstall it. You probably added them with TB Pro when you linked the apps to the market as part of the solution. I haven't added them in my case and added only the apps I have installed/bought from the market myself. Therefore, they are not in the Not Installed section.
Some apps indeed do not have the option to be uninstalled (even apps I have bought myself) but it is rare and you can still uninstall them using TB Pro.
Tried this just now on a Galaxy Nexus with ICS 4.0.2 stock rom. (Should this work on this phone too?)
Only thing I did different is I left a couple system apps (like maps etc..) checked during the restore market links in Titanium Backup...
Could this be the problem? Also after deleting the database file and rebooting, I spent about 10+ mins deselecting system and amazon apps from the restore market links, before actually running it. Did it repopulate the database before ran the fix links option and screw things up?
I tried also clearing market data to see if that would help but i did this after this fix did not work. It didn't help either.

I do not know if this fix will work with ICS. You can try it again only adding apps you actually purchased or installed free through the Market to see if that was the issue.

Thanks. I did try it again like you mention and still no luck. I did however do a complete wipe and reinstalled the stock rom. Initially the market was working, until I restored user apps with data with titanium backup, then immediately I was back to the same problem.
So like you said initially, its definitely related to Titanium Backup.
Thanks,
Vrayhem,
Thank you so much for posting this solution.
I followed your instructions carefully on my fully rooted OEM Rom Atrix 2, but it did not work for me the first time. However, I performed them again, only this time, for each and every one of the reboots (I rebooted using Quick Boot ver.4.1), on the way back up I booted back up into recovery, and wiped the cache. I am not sure how that could have made a difference, but it appears to have been necessary in my case. I have not installed a custom ROM yet (was waiting for bootloader unlocking, but it's not hopeful, so I'll be using some other method).
Motorola Atrix 2
Model MB865
Market ver.3.4.4
Root Explorer ver.2.17.2
Quick Boot ver.4.1
Titanium BU Pro ver.4.7.5
System ver. 55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US
Android OS v.2.3.5
Kernel 2.6.35.7-gac99e44

Build Number 5.5.1-175_EDFFW1-16
======UPDATE======
Well, it worked for a few days. Somehow, it broke again on it's own. I had not messed with any market links or anything. Didn't flash anything, and didn't even muddle with any system files. Just flat out, unprovoked, snafu for no apparent reason.
meh.
Does this work across devices?

This is very frustrating because I am having this happen more and more on different roms and even before installing titanium backup. The fix discussed here did not fix mine either. Sucks because it is only on some roms and not others.

[Q] After update to CM 7 cant access market and WIFI

i have installed CyanogenMod 7 V7.1.0 from thread [forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297776] and installed google apps and video addon as well but now i cant see the market and cant login to google account also i cant download market through a browser as well
EDIT: i tried to download other apps through browser but failed
second issue which i am facing is that now i can not connect to my WIFI network. it get connected for a sec. and disconnects where as i was able to connect when using official froyo 2.2
please guide me as its my first time dealing with ROM's
Sorry I can't help you with ur market but to fix ur wifi get dis app "Blade wifi fix".it worked for me n its worth a try. Please let me know if it worked.

Reinstall CM7 & google apps & wipe data/factory reset in clockworkmod to fix your market issues. You want the version of google apps without the google talk video chat addon - that wont work on our blades - gb-20110828-signed.zip
This should fix your wifi: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21956461&postcount=88
i tried the exact method and downloaded the zip files again but i still cant see market installed also cant use wifi with the fix
Didn't the app work??
Sent from my Blade using xda premium
every thing is working except WIFI and market then i tried reverse tethering to access internet through PC and tried to download some thing from market but failed
infact i cant login to gmail account through gtalk app on the phone but i can do so with browser
Wipe data/factory reset in clockworkmod, then go into the mounts and storage menu & format /system then install cm7 then install gapps.
Formatting /system should do it (but you'll still have to wipe data & reinstall cm7).
It could be something hanging around from your old rom, I think the CM7 install script tries to keep some google apps, but if they're some old version it's no good.
Your market icon wont appear until you log in to your phone in to your google account, you can do that in the setup wizard which will appear after you wipe & reinstall.
Another possibility is that you've got a small system partition (under 145mb) & there isn't enough room for all the rom to be installed, the wifi driver is one of the last things to copy. Clockworkmod doesn't show any errors when it runs out of space.
thanks for support much appreciated but i have installed GSF mod and its working absolutely fine
sooner or later i will try again and will give the feedback accordingly
P.S. i have around 2.5GB free space so no point about space unavailability

Your phone only has 512mb of internal memory & that is partitioned. The rom is stored on the /system partition. If there isn't enough room on your /system partition then it doesn't matter what free space you've got elsewhere.
If you didn't change the size of your system partition then it wont be a problem, it starts off as 210mb & cyanogen just needs about 140mb. Some people change their system partition size to be 128mb or even less, to give them more room for their data, but it's no good for larger roms like Cyanogen.

[Q] error insufficient storage on one app (not others)

Hey everyone I installed smart app protector and wanted to get rid of the ads so I used lucky patcher. Then I decided I just wanted to use ad block, so I uninstalled the app and tried to reinstall to get it back to the original. Well when I try to reinstall it it gives me the space error. I can install any other app but this one. I tried clearing data on play and services, clearing all cache, and tried installing from the actual play website. I haven't tried side loading it yet as I couldn't find a download. I also tried re-flashing the stock ROM but I didn't clear my user data. That obviously also unrooted my tablet. Anyways any suggestions?
Edit I have 3 GB of free data and I tried side loading, same error. Anyways something had to of got messed up in the file system related to this app.. Maybe some sort of left over file or something? When using lucky patcher I noticed it said something about odex file? Maybe it left an odex file or something?
Try:
Rescan SD
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS51YmVydWxsdS5yZXNjYW5zZCJd
Not exactly sure what that's sposed to do but I installed it opened it then tried installing the app lock and still gives me the error. By the way I forgot to mention I have 3 GB free data.
Ok, next thing to try:
Delete all browser history/data/cache.
Empty your downloads folder, use a file explorer and not the actual downloads app.
Also delete all files/folders relating to AdBlock that you can personally find.
Also Clear Data/Cache etc from GooglePlay and Play Services.
Reboot.
Re-download
Install.
Let me know how you get on
Hey I got it fixed. I got a lucky patcher update and when I opened it it said removing unused odex file, then I was able to install it again..
Something to consider about apps which are designed specifically to assist in the defrauding of others:
if the developer has no regard or consideration for other developers, it is a certainty that they will have the same disregard for you.
And you gave them root on your device; good luck with how that all turns out.
RE: error insufficient storage on one app (not others)
Remove odex file that app from root/data/app...
The file will be named like "com.appName...-1.odex".
OR
Just run lucky patcher..

(Q) Apps disappear after fixing permissions

Im currently running Echoe Rom V13 4.3 and started getting issues with 'insufficient storage' on app update. The cure seemed to be deleting the duplicate entry for the app in data/app-lib.as the problem got worse I Eventually I re flashed the rom with a clean flash and all was good.
I had a few fc's on an app or 2 and thought no probs, I'll clean the caches in recovery after fixing permissions in ROM manager (as Philz doesnt seem to have a fix permissions option unlike CWM.
After this process I noticed 5 or 6 apps had disappeared from the phone completely. Strange. I'll just restore from Titanium. But trying every reinstall option and the app freezes.
Downloading from the play store brought the insufficient storage error back, but I could reinstall through My Backup.
So all ok now ? except going to update the new apps from Play brings back the insufficient storage message !
If I go into the app-lib folder these apps are showing 1 or 2 duplicates (I.e the file name with a -1 and -2 suffix. Delete these and reupdate and all is good.
However the issue then seems to 'spread' to other apps.
With hindsight this is exactly what happened at the start of the insufficient storage issue and the exact same apps disappeared. I really dont think its the apps in question (eg poweramp and Trustgo security that I have used without issue for years) but im confused as to what is happening and why ?

[Q] insufficient storage available CM11

hello,
I am having this problem since a week now on my Galaxy S4 I9505 with CM11 rom. When I try to install a new app from the playstore or when I try to update an app, I get this insufficient storage available error. but when I go and look how much space there is available. I see there is more then 5GB+ available in the internal storage. I read a lot about it in several topics and forums and I tried all solutions and nothing worked. I tried emptying my cache, updated the rom to the latest nightly build, emptying dalvik-cache. can somebody help with this problem. its driving me crazy
any help would be appreciated

Hi mate
Is a playstore error
1 Delete the app that is giving you problems at /data/app-lib
2 If the problem continues delete the app at /data/data
3 If problem continues delete also the app at /data/app
You may lose the settings of the app , backup app before you do anything
hello,
thank you for your very fast reply. but the problem does not only persist on apps that need updates but also on new apps I never installed before. so the app doenst have any folder in one of the locations you mentioned. and let me give you another example. I downloaded xbmc apk manually en tried to install it manually and it gave me a similar error like in the play store.

Hi
But what about the ones that need update , did you delete the folders of those to see if it helps?
Also clear data and cache from google play framework
Do you use ROM Manager to create Nandroid backups? Or ClockworkMod Recovery in general?
If so you may very well have your nandroid backup tacking up all that space.
ROM Manager defaults to save your backups in the internal storage and then hides the files so they can't be accidentally deleted.
This results in the file manager showing available space that really isn't available.
Delete the old nandroids or move them to the external SD card to make room.
