A Big Thankyou to you all - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Would like to say a Thank you to all the Devs and members of this HD2 section for there support and many many Roms.
Had fun playing with them all
But Alas after 2.5 years i have gone the upgrade route and now have a S3 so will wonder over to there.
HD2 still works but going to be shoved on Ebay to offset some of the cost of the S3
So as they said "So long and thanks for all the Roms (Fish)"

i'm sure you are gonna miss this legendary device

Uhh... you do realize that the Nexus S is still a Galaxy S phone don't you. Many of the devs that are making these terrific roms for the vibrant have already started working on Nexus S roms as well.
I am sure that they will still see you around the forums brother!
See you there, about to go trade mines with my friend in an hour
First the developers left and now users too ;(
Good luck with nexus S

I been trying to sell my phone for months. I sold it on eBay and the person did not paid me so I ended keeping it. I was going to go with the mytouch 4g or nexus s.

I am holding out for the S2

HTC Hero end of the line.

Hi guys, as with everything in life, something reaches a point where it's replaced by another. Take my wife for example. Haha, i'm only kidding.
Anyway, I bought a HTC HD2 on ebay yesterday and as of now I no longer require this cracking little phone.
I'm sorry HTC Hero , I let you down.
ICXPlay was interested in a Hero to develop on, you should tell this to him ;-)
Good luck on your new phone ;-)

well um the nexus, the hd2 may have alot of different OS's to boot to, but that snapdragon processor is not going to perform well in the future
+1 to Nexus S!!! Hands down on this one
Another nexus vote here...

The HD2 is good as a plaything, if you want to try out different OS, but it doesn't match the function and usability of Nexus S.
The battery life is horrible, if you intend to use a HD2 at all then you'd better be resigned to spare or extended batteries. The processor isn't too bad, but still won't match the NS
All in all, it depends on your personal preference, whether you'd rather functionality or simply options.
I had a Hero and I bought a HD2 last summer and put android on it. The HD2 really lowered my respect for HTC. The devices screen was awful - it was really washed out compared to my Hero. Also, the digitizer was not accurate even after calibration within android. You could also see the digitizer touch sensors under the screen in normal daylight. The touch screen would also miss presses, like one press in ten wouldn't be registered by the device - extremely annoying when you are txting. Luckily I kept my Hero and got shut of the HD2, but it left me disappointed.
Anyway I saw the Nexus S deal over on hotukdeals and thought I'd give it a shot as £200 was the max I wanted to spend. Anyway I can safely say that I am a Sammy man from now on. The phone has really exceeded my expectations, especially running ICS.
It's a shame as I always had a soft spot for HTC with the Hero being my first smartphone. But it's sad to say that the nexus one/desire was probably the last great phone HTC have made for the Uk market.
Cheers.

Goodbye guys :'(

Well guys I just wanted to get in my quick goodbye and thank you. After having a shattered screen on my N7000 for a couple months I decided it was finally time to let go. Today I got myself an at&t Galaxy S 4 and while it wasnt my first choice the luxury of a carrier unbranded device isnt an option for me at the moment. I just wanted to bid farewell personally to each and every one of you guys for the two years I spent in these forums. The community here is fantastic and if the I337 section is half as awesome, I shall be a very happy man. I know I havent been around a lot recently but I hope my time here was appreciated even the smallest amount. I also hope you guys appreciate me staying on this s****y touchjizz rom long enough to write this anyways best of luck to you all, I won't mention any names but there are several of you who I have immense respect for and who made my stay in the N7000 section and more specifically, The Asylum, as pleasurable as it was. Thank you again guys and girls. Huge love to all of you!
Mods, feel free to close the thread if you see fit, I just wished to express my grattitude

Thanks guys. I still have a spare piece of glass lying around for my n7000 so I'm thinking about trying to replace just that. Last time I tried it didn't work out so well and had to buy a new LCD and digitizer but I learned a lot from it. I'll see what I can do and I'll take pictures along the way so if it works I'll let you know how I went about it

but for you the HTC one might be better unless you were somehow dissapointed by HTC or Sense

It's a good offer, it's pretty cheap (that's at least my opinion)
I upgraded from the HOX don't regret it for a second. First thing I noticed was battery life far far better. S4 is faster got a better screen louder. I personally prefer TW to sense. You wont regret the upgrade.

Hey.. I upgraded from hox to gs4 and i think it was a great upgrade.. I do not regret it one second.. But i was kind of bored of htc sense for some reason so might be why haha i guess if you like htc sense (which i also do.. A great ui but like i said.. Was bored of it..) if you have the chance to test htc sense 5.. Do it and then you decide touchwiz is not very special either but i wanted all those fancy smart functions hehe
And just so i dont forget.. What gs4 are you thinking of?
GT-I9505 OR GT-I9500? I have I9505 snapdragon version which i think have better support on custom roms atleast what i have heard.. Migth be diffrent now i dont know
/ Wrix
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Go with the HTC ONE, much better than the S4 at all aspects.. I had an S4 before and I switch to the ONE. Totally worth the change!!Trust me or see reviews, almost all the experts choose the One over the S4..
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Might be true but i guess thats kind of individual, What you are searching for in a phone and what you want the phone to be specs vice they are pretty much the same and micro sd card and removable battery was great for me but like i said thats individual and only you know what your searching for in a phone

As far as I saw the GT-I9505 (Snapdragon version) has good developer support! It even has official CM (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Jfltexx_Info), I just won't be able to tell you about experience with it because after I flashed the 4.3 Leak I'm happy with it and didn't change , I can tell you that it runs amazingly anyway \m/. I'll just tell you one thing before! I think you should only buy if you're in urge! Because soon is November and that (probably) means new Nexus! Also your device is from the last year, so it's still a nice thing. If you really want to get a new phone now, S4 is good enough !
