I've got a brand-new (Australian) P6810 (Wifi 7.7), and it doesn't let me boot into recovery mode at all. I can get into download mode with no problems (and so have been able to manually update to ICS) but without recovery mode its not letting me root the device.
Is it an issue just with mine, or are there others that have had the same issue? If so, has anyone been able to get around it by flashing a different recovery or something?
The issue is rather frustrating, especially since i had no problems rooting my i9000...
Your steps?

boot into download mode and try to install a custom recovery (CWM?) then you can root. you need to install recovery via download anyway
I've tried turning off, then holding Volume+Up and then powering on the device. It just then gives the Samsung boot animation. Turning it off, holding Volume+Down and powering it on goes into download mode just fine. I have made sure that USB debugging is enabled in the settings as well.
I've tried installing CWM recovery via Download Mode + Odin, and it still doesn't let me actually boot into recovery even though Odin says the flash worked successfully. In Odin i had "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" ticked, and put the CWM .tar file in the PDA field. I've tried CWM-20120710-p6810 and CWM-20120719-p6810 recoveries (found in other posts on here). I've also tried setting it to not-auto-reboot, and manually restarting and then holding Vol+up and it still just boots normally.
I've tried two builds of ICS (P6810XXLPK and P6810XXLPL), and when i tried going back to the Honeycomb (P6810DTKL5) that came with it, it just boot looped until i reflashed ICS.

Patience...
When you see the bootanimation, you think you lost.
Actually, keep holding down both buttons, device will shut down, keep holding, then ... voila your recovery.
You can click thanks now, then proceed with rooting and custom ROM's
power + up volume, let go of the power as soon as you see the samsung logo keep holding onto up volume until recovery boots
Yep that got it... i thought i had tried every combination of holding them, but obviously not.
Thanks all
As i suspect lol.

I have a similar problem on my tab but none of the above key combinations seem to work. I can only get into download mode or turn the tab on. No recovery mode. I have followed directions from other XDA posts and at all times the USB cable is still connected. Is this require to get into recovery mode? Help my finures are getting cramp holding the buttons!

Unfortunately I have deleted the system of my S4 i9505 from within TWRP :crying:
After having some fun with CyanogenMod I decided to try out the PAC rom. Following the installation instructions on their mod page I wiped the internal data of my phone but what as I was sliding the confirmation I realised that 'system' was checked. Too late
I have read through countless threads on this sight and others but have not had any success.
I have located the stock recovery image for my device.
When my device is first switched on I can still hit volume down + power button, and then volume up to enter the downloading mode (but if I don't the booting begins to loop at the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo and goes no further). Odin still recognises my phone and allows me to flash roms but when it does the auto re-boot at the end I don't have a system and it gets stuck on the booting at the Galaxy S4 logo.
Several threads have suggested that I Fastboot, I'm not sure if this is even an option with the S4 or not but please let me know if it you're sure that it is. I have been unsuccessful with my Fastboot attempts so far but if I just need to persevere with it then I can.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated :fingers-crossed:
In TWRP. Setting and Enable MD5 verification of backup files. (It maybe help.) Or Skip MD5 generation of backup.
And why you don´t flash stock ROM via Odin??
It's really easy.
Just reflash TWRP true Odin. Then flash the rom you want. That's all you need to do.

I'm not sure what the first part of your post means but I am not even able to access TWRP, that is the problem.
I have flashed the stock ROM via Odin. After I flash the ROM it does the normal re-boot. But I my phone loops on the splash screen without every actually re-booting properly.

I have reflashed it but as described above my phone fails to reboot after the flash.
I might be missing something here. I'm not sure how to get into recovery mode after flashing the ROM. Immediately as the device begins to re-boot I've tried holding power button + volume up + home button but the screen goes black and when I let go of the buttons the phone just auto boots itself.
EDIT: My phone automatically attempts to boot whenever it is connected to USB.
Is it possible to flash an entire OS in a ROM rather than just altering the recovery??
1. Flash TWRP recovery true Odin. Make sure Auto-reboot is UNCHECKED. After it finished flashing, unplug it, reboot and try to get to recovery now.

I have done that again (now having turned off the Auto-reboot (thanks btw). I can get Odin to come up with a big green PASS for flashing TWRP. Now when I try to boot into recovery however the phone vibrates and the flash screen comes up but then it powers down again. I'm just holding power button + volume up + home button to attempt getting into recovery but it isn't working. Do I need to try and flash another ROM?
EDIT: SUCCESS!!!! I made it to recovery (apparently this post was premature). It looks like failing to un-check the auto-reboot in ODIN was the problem. Thanks a lot man, that was a massive help. From recovery I was able to flash my backup ROM.

No a rom has nothing to do with the recovery not working. Are you holding the buttons long enough? Just try to hold them for like 30 seconds even if it reboots 3 times.

Good to hear
So I was installing a lollipop rom via Odin and my T530NU has become bricked. After two days of trying every version of Odin possible and attempting to flash various firmwares, no success. I am able to get into recovery mode but cannot get into download mode. In recovery mode, you can install an update via sd card, but I cannot find a file for that, if that would even fix the problem. But fast forward to current time, if you boot the device like normal, it is stuck on the samsung logo with red text at the top left that says 'Kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and below that in yellow "Set warranty bit : kernel." If I press the volume keys, the appropriate volume sound is made, but oddly, pressing the home key and the power key prompts the tablet to talk as if I have turned on assistive touch in the accessibility menu. Please help.

You can try MOBILE ODIN (if there is a version for your tab).
it's a variety of the classic odin but 4 device, created by the most great God that Android have may seen: Mr Chainfire.
Without him, the modding on android there were a dream.
Whit mobile odin you can flash an official firmware by recovery.
But only if there is a version for your tablet, i don't know.
It there will be the last chance.
Hi, so the problems I am experiencing are that I tried to install Resurrection Remix ROM for my phone. I do not know where my idiot brain messed up along the way, but I installed ROM Manager on my phone, and then pressed backup current ROM, which immediately set the phone to be booting in Recovery Mode, but unfortunately wont be detected my phone. The error code is the following:
RECOVERY BOOTING:
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDRIOD ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
I tried pushing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER and the HOME buttons together to open Odin mode, but this is just stuck, as nothing happens in that mode. After several hours of trying to figure this out by myself, a frustrated me decided to come here to see if the community could help me out. Does anyone have any ideas? I really cannot afford a new phone right now :crying:
Flash twrp in odin mode.

Do you have access to a USB jig to try and force download mode?
Before pressing vol down, home, and power, is the phone powered off? What do you mean nothing happens? The phone won't power on?
Fixed, thank you for your help

What I did to solve the issue was flash a stock Andriod 4.4.2 tar file from Odin. The computer would not recognize the device sometimes, however, I did manage to get it through. After that I managed to get everything figured out and get Reserruction Remix ROM on my phone. Thank you for your guys help!
Hi,
I just aquired a used SM-G900F today for 130€ (tadaa). I flashed twrp-3.0.2-2-klte.img.tar using odin (through a virtual machine, on a linux host system). After successfully flashing the PDA the device rebooted. Also the Phone showed the progress bar during flashing. But when I turned it off and tried to get into recovery via pressing Vol-UP + Home Button it still booted into stock recovery. I flashed it again and again but still the same happens.
What is going on here??? Did someone experience the same problem? Does anyone have the Idea how to solve this?
EDIT: Same same with philz recovery
Volume up, home, and power button. Don't forget that one

Hey mate do the same process when you first flashing, but this time in Odin uncheck "auto reboot"...had this happen to me.
As long as the first part of the process is correct, enable development mode "usb debugging" On, shutdown phone, boot to download mode by pressing "Home + vol down" + "power button" then configure Odin as above.
Let em know how it goes, simple **** seems to be the most frustrating.
Hope it helps
Yayy! Unchecking Auto reboot did the trick for me!
I didn't know that the ROM replaces the recovery if it is not stock. Well, now I do. Thank you very much!

please help, woke up today with phone in boot loop and very hot, tryed odin to flash new firmware it was working fine, but near the end i get fail, so i used smart switch for phone initialization, with model and serial, it did his thing, but when it finishes and goes to reboot device it goes back to boot loop, what can i do?
So i take it from the lack of replies it's dead, so is there a way i can pull photos and videos from the internal memory? it still powers up, just stuck in boot loop, i can still get to download mode, just cant get into recovery, is there a way to get to the files?
If the phone is in bootloop she's not dead.
Try wiping it trough the fast boot menu and start over.

Ok, i searched and donwloaded platform tools to get ADB and fastboot, but from what i read i need to be in recovery for adb to pick up my phone, and i cant seem to get into recovery mode, pushing vol up + home + power does nothing, holding power to turn off phone also does not work, as soon as i connect phone to charger it turns on and goes into boot loop, only thing i can do is enter download mode, but in download mode i cant seem to get adb to find phone.
Put it in download mode, push an original OS from Samsung on it and after that you should be good 2 go.

So you already did this;
Phone in recovery mode; wipe it completely and restore to factory settings.
Phone in download mode; original OS via Odin.
After those steps it should work. Had to do the same to my phone last night. Lol.

the only part i didnt do is
Phone in recovery mode; wipe it completely and restore to factory settings.
because i cannot enter recovery, it supposed to be vol up+ home + power, but i think it requires phone to be off, and i cant turn phone off, holding power to turn it off does nothing, already let batery die, but as soon as i plug the cord it turns itself on, and goes back into boot loop, so again when i try the combo to go to recovery it does nothing (because i think it really needs to be off to enter recovery) so all i can do is do vol down + home + power and go to download mode, but i'm not getting adb to recognize phone in download mode, so i could command it to reboot to recovery =(
If you hold all buttons down it will restart the phone. And as soon as the screen goes black release all but volume up and power you should get into recovery mode

I'm having similar issues with my Galaxy S9+. When you say "Wipe it completely" I should do the standard wiping or advanced wiping and select all folders?
