I used the drivers from the market. Seems to work. My only beef is I think it is why my battery is dying so quick. About to go back to stock to see.

Sweet. I think its just the tegra3 doing all that. Ill tryto see mate and thanks a bunch

Not sure if this is the right place, but one question.

Will the Nexus 7 be receiving official MIUI or CM support anytime soon?

I haven't seen anything guaranteed, and I don't expect to either ( these are community built ROMs and the last thing I would expect is guarentee) however this is a nexus device and will also have a huge user base with a greater than normal percentage of people willing to try custom ROMs , so I think on a practical note this device will get those builds as well as somany different flavors of android you won't be able to keep track of them all

Haha I'm only worried about getting at least a nightly for CM10 until MIUI pops up.

guys dont waste any time asking eh?
you realize that people are JUST NOW getting these in their hands? give it a little while....hell, CM10 is alpha on other devices that have BEEN OUT for a while...
patience appears to be something everyone has lost these days.....
I'm just a little curious as to whether or not anyone has any info. That's all, haha.

trust me....the N7 isnt going to slip by without some serious work done to it.....
did you ever see the amount of work that went into the TOUCHPAD? i can guarantee that this tablet will get CM10, AOKP, and probably MIUI....just give it some time. until then, enjoy Jelly Bean as it is....its not bad now....
Alright, I believe you. I don't even have mine in my hands yet

I don't see why not as this is a NEXUS device.

Suggest some Roms for news to try

So I just got my nexus 7, and if course I rooted it the first day.I'm currently running Paranoid Android and love it so far. Just want to see if there are any other ones I would be trying.
Thanks in advance.

Trinity kernel thread
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
I've tried them all and I think that Kaos Droid is excellent. I use it with the Touchwiz theme (included) and it looks great. It's stable, fast, smooth and elegant.

I'd say Paranoid Android is the rom you should use. Kaos Droid is not that good. I used it for 2 weeks and when I dumped it I understood what I lost.
Codename Android - stable, regular updates, and a decent sized download for a rom that includes a substantial number of extra features.
You will not get a fast rom. The only thing that can make a rom seem fast is sped up animation's or completely disabled wich you can do on any rom. To make anything faster you need to find a good kernel. There are lots of great oms and kernel out here. Have a try yourself and see what you like best.
I prefer paranoid android for the tablet ui. Along with faux kernel or trinity.

If you like Paranoid Android but want the large amount of customization that Codename Android offers, you could also try this ROM, which is a combination of Paranoid and Codename. It looks awesome and I'm planning on flashing this soon.

Thanks for all the great advice. I really like Paranoid Android, so I'll try Cookies and Cream.
I'll also try some of the kernels.
Thanks again.

Help me pick a Rom?

I'm looking for something based on 4.2.1 good tweaks.
I would like to see true tablet ui, this audio mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059185, and PlayStation certified. Among othe useful tweaks....
Any ideas??

This is the wrong thread for this post... That's why if you would read, there is a nice little thread called Nexus 7 Q&A (Question & Answer)
Edit: BTW, I'm not trying to be rude. Anyways, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

1. Wrong thread
2. If you wanna use USB OTG, don't use JB 4.2.1
3. This audio mod is way better http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34364281
4. There is a tablet ui mod out there, searching will not kill you. So go for it
5. A gift for Christmas: get your account banned from XDA Moderator. Lol

Thank you for giving me a little usefull info about USB otg and the audio mod, that helps. Everything else and everyone's comments are just rude.
I know there are tons of roms for this tablet, so I was looking for help finding a good one. I have been searching and like the sound of clean rom or kaos droid and just looking for a lil help or a suggestion. No need to flame.

All the devs are using essentially the same source. Some have more tweaks then others and more functions, but there is no "bad" ROM. There is just your preferences over another persons. Try some yourself. Have a backup and you can restore to where you were in a mere 2 minutes.

I'm using Paranoid Android and it works great. Lets you choose between UIs (tablet, phone, phablet) and even customize individual apps.

Should I put CyanogenMod on my Nexus 4?

Hi, I'm new to the rooting/android community and I'm wondering if it is worth it to try out CyanogenMod... What are the pros and con's?
Thanks

More features. Possible* better battery.. There is so much and there's more than CM to try out

Yes.

Yeah, there are more features and probably better performance/battery. You could start out with the RC5 build since it is the most stable and updated build but generally the nightly builds are pretty stable with minor bugs too. Personally, I prefer AOSPA since it has very innovative features that make my phone that much more unique :]
If you don't like it you can flash another Rom or go back to stock. You'll probably end up trying different roms and finding out what you like.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
sure man. couldnt hurt to learn a bit about your phone in the process as well
just dont be stuck with cm. its not the only stable rom, and it is definitely not the most stable so dont worry about having to just play it safe with cm.
Try PACman Rom, has Cyanogenmod, AOKP and Paranoid Android, the top 3 roms in my opinion. this way you can see all the features and then flash the rom you like the most or stick to it...whatever floats your boat
Yes

if you are satisfied with stock then No , if you feel some features that you would use are missing then go for it.
as for battery life, from my own experience, stock was the best option for me so far.
Use Carbon instead. Has the features CM has but a lot more. Nav width/height adjustment is a must for me. CM doesnt have that and wont put it in.

Pure Google ROM?

Hey guys, I'm a pure Google fan and I really don't care much for all of the theming people do in many ROMs.
What would be the best ROM to get the stock nexus feel to it?
Thanks!

Check in the Android Development section as their titles describe basically what they are. Look for barebones. A little research will go a long way and the guys bringing you roms do a great job of explaining the product.

CM10 and 10.1 are very close to stock. I think Hash made a pure AOSP port too, but CM is AOSP themed with some extra features.
