If you read the string of information that goes like (example)
I9300XXALE8/I9300OXFALE4/I9300XXLE8/I9300XXALE8
You can use that in conjunction with Check Fus Downloader and download the firmware yourself!

Help with Rooting, Updating and CSC Code

Hi,
I would like to request the help of the Rooting Gurus 
I have an S2 and the info of the phone is the following:
PDA: I9100XWKG1
PHONE: I9100XXKG1
CSC: I9100XEFKG2
From the thread in this forum I found that in order to root the phone I have to download the following firmware version:
XWKG1
Firmware info
PDA:XWKG1
PHONE: XXKG1
Date: 05/07/2011
Android 2.3.3
XEF (France): link1
TUR (Turkey): link2
ITV (Italy): link3
XWKG1 Stock Kernel:link4
From what I understand I have to download the first one (XEF France) since it matches my CSC code and also the XWKG1 Stock Kernel.
I use the custom firmware first with Odin and then the stock kernel in order to remove the yellow triangle.
This firmware though is version 2.3.3 and my problem is what do I do if I want to upgrade it (not from Kies)
From samfirmware I see that there are firmwares with version 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 but not sure which one I can use without causing a problem to the phone
In the firmware table for example it has the following two versions:
Europe Firmware .PIT Android Date CSC
I9100XXKG2 EXT4.PIT 2.3.4 2011 July 12 MULTI-CSC-OXAKG2
And
I9100XXKI3 EXT4.PIT 2.3.5 2011 September 15 CSC-OXAKI3
From the letter code (XX) in one of the threads here I way that XX letter code means:
XX---> Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, United Kingdom
1) Can I use any of the above firmwares even though it seems that the CSC code doesn’t match?
2) How can I change the CSC code?
Thank you in advance for your help
In short.....yes you can flash them.safely.
I am from Australia and use the UK csc.
Alternatively, you can flash the firmwares you like then flash just the csc you want after that over it.
If you have cwm recovery I would recommend doing a backup just in case you want to go back. Or just use Odin if you already have your stock firmware.

You may find these interesting reading
For firmware, Intratech is the king of official, up to date firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
For rooting, Chainfire's CF-Root is one of the easier ways to go about it, the thread is here.

I was a total novice but by reading the the instructions over and over and following them to the letter it's not as difficult and complicated as some like to make out.

[ROMS] Updated: 20/02/2013 - Pre-Rooted Stock ROM Odin Packages

I am currently implementing an alternate method of Rooting which I have found to be successful by means of Pre-Rooting the factoryfs.img file.
Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- The Yellow Triangle will NOT appear at boot up.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions flashed to your device.
What Root Package is used in these ROMs?
- Busybox 1.20.2 (Newer ROMs)
- SuperSU 1.04 (Newer ROMs)
Note: Previously released ROMs may have an older Busybox and SuperSU package installed.
Please Note: This Root Method does not include clockworkmod Recovery. This is for people who only require Root Permissions.
If you do require clockworkmod Recovery, you will need to flash a CF-Root Kernel or other Root Modified Kernel. Old SBL is included in Modified Stock Packages so USB Jig may still be used.
New and Old SBL files are attached at the bottom of the second post in this thread should you require them.

As this is a time consuming process, ROMs will be added over time although some ROMs have been added already so keep checking back for updates.
If theres a ROM Package you would like uploaded then please feel free to drop me a PM.
Current Pre-Rooted Stock Firmwares:
If you find my Pre-Rooted Firmwares useful then please consider a small donation.
Just UnZip and Flash the '.tar.md5' File in Odin.
SBL Files are included at the bottom of this thread if you need them for any reason.

Note: If you are coming from a Custom ROM, remember to Wipe Data and Cache Partitions before flashing to avoid Boot Loops.

Doesn't always work especially with new upcoming builds, you're bound to run into some trouble with everroot sooner or later.
lyriquid: Nice idea. I actually created a pre-rooted package like this some time ago with LPB. Took some trial and error, it worked. Had some trouble updating it later on. Was it worth it, sure, but in the end we have Triangle Away. This app just killed the reason for everyone NOT to root their phones with insecure kernels.
That is unless we are talking about a GB build of course. A prerooted XWLA4 with a stock kernel? Sounds good to me.

No because Mobile Odin Roots the firmware on the fly and I believe your device has to already have Root access to do this but this method gives you a Clean and Pre-Rooted Package to flash in Odin on PC which means you can flash to a NON Rooted device and gain Root privledges.

Need to have root that's true.
So yes this really sounds interesting
Join forces with some ROM kitchen so the user can build it's own pre-rooted firmware and flash it with some newbie's proof application (one button)
Hmm Nice Idea..
Looking forward!!!

Interesting, thanks for your work! I'm gonna bookmark this and maybe try it out in the near future. I've been meaning to try out LP8 (am on LP7 Netherlands now), but haven't really found a reason to.
The XEU is UK, but will not give me any trouble, right? CSC is pretty useless if you don't use KIES anyway. No need to request a XEN CSC for The Netherlands then.

Can you elaborate on that 'trouble'? I've used Mobile Odin Pro and Everroot to root my device, but haven't yet found any problems with everroot. If there are in fact problems with ER, it would make flashing the firmware in this thread an even more interesting alternative.
Thanks a lot,
added to my bookmarks... to direct the people who need only Root on their ICS..
anticipating more stock versions soon...

Hi, CSCs arent really that important. All they contain are default language selections, bookmarks, and bundled apps. They are for if people who just want things to match up with the country they are in. Intratech has a whole list of CSC packages in his thread that you could simply just flash after flashing one of my Pre-Rooted ROMs. Then you will have Root and correct CSC.

Thanks. I had a hunch that would be the case, but I haven't located a XEN (Dutch) CSC yet in Intratech's thread (was looking at his Frankenstein LP8 ROM before).
I'll figure it out though. So far, I'm not experiencing any trouble with my current ROM, so until **** hits the fan, I'll just keep this useful thread bookmarked.

Wow, I appreciate that offer a lot. If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to have a separate XEN CSC. Can't hurt to have on file, right? But don't let it take up too much of your time; I probably won't be doing any changes anytime soon, after five flashes in three weeks.
Flashed this earlier matey on my unbranded UK S2 and the install went smooth as silk via Odin Mobile Pro. Muchos thanks for your efforts
Can we have a mirror link for this plz!
This is a really interesting idea and I'm surprised more people haven't thought to do this.
Is there any chance you could upload a XSALP4 version?
Thanks in Advance

Nope, the info from #*1234# is almost useless because OJV is a Multi-csc, it includes the following 3 csc: XSI, KSA and XFM.
(you can get this info by open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, select menu --> CSC Lookup and search for the 'OJV')
So you don't know what exactly your csc is.
Instead, in your previous post, you know exactly your csc is XSI. So the download link for your firmware on sammobile is:

Am I using the correct firmware for my phone?

I have installed this firmware: N910FXXU1COJ3_N910FBTU1COI1_BTU from sammobile
I have a note 4 that is unlocked and based in the UK, it was purchased new off amazon. My original CSC code was BTU but my active one is XEC/BTU. Should I be worried and should I try to change it.
When I type the serial number into kies I am told PDA: OK2/ CSC: OJ2/ PHONE: OK1 (XEC). However XEC is for spanish phones which mine is not.
How can I get my device back to its original state when it was first purchased?

Unable to update Note 3

I bought the phone which was brand new, couple of years ago. I wanted to update it to the latest OS but was unable to do so as it says it was modified.
After extensive research online, i came to know i have to flash the stock rom using Odin. But i am unable to find the stock firmware that matches the codes.
These are the results from *#1234#
AP : N9005XXUBMI7
CP : N9005XXUBMI6

I am unable to trace the stock ROM firmware. Appreciate if anyone could give the link and the instructions if possible.
EDIT: Okay i managed to download the stock ROM of 4.3 from a website and successfully flashed it. But being in 4.3 it says the phone is up to date and has no updates available when i check for new updates

I downloaded the 4.3 OS and installed that matched my version. How do i go for 5.0 as it is not showing in my phone? Do i need to match the version codes as in that website the 5.0 version is not matching my phone version
Use the newest XXU* Version fitting to your home country best. In my case you would need Germany (DBT) because it was a unbranded german phone. Thus I need PDA: N9005XXUGBOK6 and CSC: N9005DBTGBOI1. Because I am NOT using stock at all anymore, I always use the newest BL and MODEM, but in your case just use the most recent Firmware which fits your origin and provider.

Seems like Sri Lanka has a N9005ODD* CSC in recent FWs, but you have a N9005OJV* one used in South Africa and Morocco currently.
So I would try these:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62194/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_XFM (South Africa)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61958/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_MWD (Morocco)
No guarantee though, but in theory it's not interesting at all which FW you use. At least I already used DBT ones and Nordic Country NEE ones and had no problems in the past.
So you could try http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62526/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005ODDGBOJ1_SLK (Sri Lanka) too. But as I said, FW update always is a risk and if you don't know how to fix stuff, it can be a nice activity for a whole weekend to fix stuff again.
If you want to be more sure and secure... load https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo and send the stuff shown in "General", "CSC-Code", "Firmware" and "Android" in here. Most interesting is the "Active CSC Code"

Isn't the different PDA version a problem?
Nope. PDA version changes from time to time. Check the firmwares for CSC XSI and you will see that they are Android version dependent. Same can be seen for any country.
