I guess this is what just downloaded on my note, are there any patch notes?
Failed to update after reboot?!
Stock ICS, rooted, Speedmod, k3-10
???
Worked
Yeah, updated fine here, no root since before ICS official update.
Seems to have a slight performance hike, haven't benched it yet though.
Failed update for my rooted XEU also. Will need to do it the hard way...
Hand on! Is mobile Odin the hard way? Seemed easy last time
Got this update on CPW firmware as well this morning, OTA. Haven't noticed any real differences yet other than the version number went to 4.0.4.
Still, always feels nice to get an update, feel a bit more looked after .
I just installed via Kies from LQ2. Not noticed much difference really. Had to reroot but so far all going well.

Hey guys, anybody know whether OTA flashing is a safe mode to upgrade from stock ICS 4.0.3 XEU XXLPT- XXLQ2 or not?

No rom upgrade from Samsung will ever change it's result....

Just to let everyone to know...
Unrooted before upgrading to 4.0.4 and before re-root it again I did a factory reset from Menu>Settings. Everything was Stock already and no brick. CF's tool did report my Note as being unsafe.
I haven't noticed any performance improvements but the previously mentioned changes are there. The most disappointment is that still deleting large (100mb+) takes ages on my Note whereas on other devices it would take no time to notice it.

Factory resetting even via settings is risky if on stock ICS.Count yourself as lucky. But still keep your fingers crossed as the brick bug might appear to you later.Don't do any wipes/resets again. GOOD LUCK!

What network you on, is it KI4 2.3.4 or 2.3.5?
Just checked on my unbranded (XEU), Kies says my firmware - KI4 2.3.4 is the latest
From FUS Downloader
Product Code: GT-I9100LKAXEU
Latest firmware: I9100XWKI4/I9100XEUKH2/I9100XXKI1/I9100XWKI4
Modified: 16/09/2011 08:43:47
Filename: GT-I9100_XEU_1_20110916084335.zip.enc2
Its an unlocked phone from p4u unbranded and I'm on three, but theres no sim in the phone when I've connected. I've not downloaded it yet its still plugged in an showing. I didn't really want to be first trying it because my phone has no problems and I don't want to lose the 5x4 icon setup unless I'm forced too and I don't know whether this will do that to my phone. By the way its never been upgraded yet from its original rom of KE7 KE4 KD1.
Firstly Kies wont remove any of your apps/settings, if you have rooted the phone you will lose this. It sounds like you are being offered the upgrade to 2.3.4 which has been out a while. 2.3.5 is the one we are waiting on which is a different KI4.
Is there anyway I can check for you without going through with the full upgrade, the other day I handled a new galaxy w in p4u and that had 2.3.5 in it I took a photo of it, every write up and comment on that phone says 2.3.3. Lets hope things have moved on, but as I said in op didn't really want to try it first.
See attached
Thank you. I've been reading about the Kl4 in the discussion thread thats not officially out , I don't supposed you would care to comment on whether its worth my upgrading, whats the balance of losses and gains you find in this release as apposed to the one I've got.
It's up to you whether you want to upgrade the fw, if you're on 2.3.3 I would do it, we could new waiting a while for Samsung to release 2.3.5 on kies for unbranded phones.

It seems to me that it is faster than KI3 and with better battery life.
The only difference is that it is official now!
Happy flashing!
The XXKI4 is not the same as the XWKI4. Both have been available in the firmware thread in the dev forum a while now.
Thanks for that. I have flashed and had the fastest kies flash ever. Thanks for the info.

So, here i am, proudly owning a Galaxy S4 i9505.
I'm not really new to flashing, cooking and such stuff since i owned my sensation for 3 days
So i rooted my S4, decided to try this Omega Rom. All seems to be fine, till now when i realised that the auto-rotation is broken.
It is active in settings and i tried multiple launchers (that crappy TouchWiz thing, Nova and ADW).
Yes i activated it also in the launchers settings but nothing happend.
Restarted, took out battery, waited for a couple of seconds, nothing.
Is it a problem with the rom or maybe something went wrong during the flash process or is my sensor broken?
I thought i ask before trying go back to stock.
And dont blame me for this crappy **** of english.
Ok it seems that no sensor is working at all

I went back to stock and tried a couple of original VD2 firmwares for Germany.
The first 5 i tried were located to Slowenia with the CSC: SIM. Kies told me that.
So i couldnt get updates OTA and from Kies.
Then i simple debranded my phone, and flashed the DBT firmware. All was fine. Updates working.
I tried another Vodafone Rom and now i got the Vodafone apps and the CSC: DBT???
So no updates OTA and with Kies.
I need to fix this and go back to CSC: VD2 because a couple of sensors are broken (warranty).

yes, I am talking about the 4.2.2 stock rom. I used it on pure stock for about a day. Now, it is rooted and I have xposed installed. it showed no lag, meaning that it showed the same performance as the GENNXT rom. It had the occasional lag, just like the GENNXT rom
No lag
Day 1 using the new stock Malaysian version 4.2.2, no noticeable lag. Updated using odin without wiping and reset and not rooted (haven't found use for rooting yet). No visible changes on the new firmware. Hope it stays this way.

I just flashed the new KK Firmware (France one) and it immediately stopped, due to 'sboot.bin' (=bootloader file).
I'm downloading the UK one and I'll try again. If it'll fail again, we're stuck on the N8000 Bootloader, probably forever.

Just flashed it on my n8010 and I must say that it is ugly as hell. Honestly, the thing that you slide from the upper part of the screen is horrible. Not impressed by it visually so far...
How do we root this s**t?
I've flashed mu UK N8010 from the op's link and it has upgraded well. It ran like a dog for an hour or so but has settled down and is smooth now, there are lots of of changes, it's much more like a standard android phone now than a Samsung circa 2012 tablet, the notification shade has moved to the top now. Multi screen is now different and there are a lot of other changes to the email app, keyboard appearance and the colour scemes etc etc. The home, back and app manger soft keys have moved from bottom left to centre, the screen capture button is no longer there, you can screen cap using power + volume down buttons or the S pen.
After the same interface for 2 years it feels really odd using the tablet with the kitkat changes but I'm already getting used to it after a few hours and overall I think it waswort b the upgrade.
