and there is nothing important in csc, only blootware and basicly useless csc with blotaps presets for particular country/code
it is also XWLP7 as firmwares pushed eaarlier last week so it even has same phone language set
go check samsung letter codes it is the same region
only thing that might be important and new for some is modem if customized by particular carrier

A torrent would be far superior as download speed is now 115Kb/sec
on the other hand it is funny how those english firmwre was awaited and advertised by samsung england, undergoing tests and other crap
now when it comes out it is the same firmware(pda) as it is with us for way over a week with changed csc file what could be done by few more or less inteligent monkeys in hour if done from scratch
but hey, celebrate firmware is here :}

Very interesting - let's hear what's in it. No new release for XEE (Scandinavia) yet, unfortunately.
I got JPF/JPP/JP3 notification from Kies right now.
Just upgraded from stock JPO via Kies. It is 2.2.1 Quadrant 1250, It obviously connects with kies no problem, over the air updates still there it requires you to enter samsung account details?
So far.... Very Smooth, All A-Z in contacts, New Market App, Radio sounds better (not as flat) & my GPS (GPS Only) now pin points my house from my garden (before it had me a few houses away)
So far so good!
Does it solve lagging and force close issues?

Hopefully the source code will be out soon so that our modders can fine tune it!
I'm also in UK, currently running I9000XXJPU flashed with Odin.
I've tried updating with Kies & using the OTA option in I9000XXJPU, but no upgrade offered yet.

Looks like KF1 is still 2.3.3 and not the 2.3.4 update we have been waiting for
Hopefully our update will come soon and sort out all of the battery drain issues.
Hope this helps.
Something IS happening finally ;-) samsung makes imho the best phones but when it comes to firmware they kinda like to hesitate...still thumbs up. Hopefully they fixed the gps issues for germany.

Didn't have these issues, I've never had to restart the phone, except yesterday, when i set my device-font to the original one, because the font had a border, after a restart it hadn't the border anymore .
Btw: I thought the navigation is using the gyroscope for tunnels, to get the position without gps, but with the google navigation it isn't working... didn't test it on offline navigations, did anyone?

Great! The bug with "signin with google account..." endless, has been fixed.
My SGS2 appears faster too.
after one day, I can tell it's way faster, you can really feel the difference in game such as Asphalt 6.
To tell you the truth, I haven't noticed it was laggy until I played it on the new firmware.
Now I can compare and tell it was laggy and it is not anymore ;-)
Have just been offered Kl4 on kies in uk, no hacks.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
What network you on, is it KI4 2.3.4 or 2.3.5?
Just checked on my unbranded (XEU), Kies says my firmware - KI4 2.3.4 is the latest
From FUS Downloader
Product Code: GT-I9100LKAXEU
Latest firmware: I9100XWKI4/I9100XEUKH2/I9100XXKI1/I9100XWKI4
Modified: 16/09/2011 08:43:47
Filename: GT-I9100_XEU_1_20110916084335.zip.enc2
Its an unlocked phone from p4u unbranded and I'm on three, but theres no sim in the phone when I've connected. I've not downloaded it yet its still plugged in an showing. I didn't really want to be first trying it because my phone has no problems and I don't want to lose the 5x4 icon setup unless I'm forced too and I don't know whether this will do that to my phone. By the way its never been upgraded yet from its original rom of KE7 KE4 KD1.
Firstly Kies wont remove any of your apps/settings, if you have rooted the phone you will lose this. It sounds like you are being offered the upgrade to 2.3.4 which has been out a while. 2.3.5 is the one we are waiting on which is a different KI4.
Is there anyway I can check for you without going through with the full upgrade, the other day I handled a new galaxy w in p4u and that had 2.3.5 in it I took a photo of it, every write up and comment on that phone says 2.3.3. Lets hope things have moved on, but as I said in op didn't really want to try it first.
See attached
Thank you. I've been reading about the Kl4 in the discussion thread thats not officially out , I don't supposed you would care to comment on whether its worth my upgrading, whats the balance of losses and gains you find in this release as apposed to the one I've got.
It's up to you whether you want to upgrade the fw, if you're on 2.3.3 I would do it, we could new waiting a while for Samsung to release 2.3.5 on kies for unbranded phones.

It seems to me that it is faster than KI3 and with better battery life.
The only difference is that it is official now!
Happy flashing!
The XXKI4 is not the same as the XWKI4. Both have been available in the firmware thread in the dev forum a while now.
Thanks for that. I have flashed and had the fastest kies flash ever. Thanks for the info.

Seems to have a slight performance hike, haven't benched it yet though.
Failed update for my rooted XEU also. Will need to do it the hard way...

Got this update on CPW firmware as well this morning, OTA. Haven't noticed any real differences yet other than the version number went to 4.0.4.

Just to let everyone to know...
Unrooted before upgrading to 4.0.4 and before re-root it again I did a factory reset from Menu>Settings. Everything was Stock already and no brick. CF's tool did report my Note as being unsafe.
I haven't noticed any performance improvements but the previously mentioned changes are there. The most disappointment is that still deleting large (100mb+) takes ages on my Note whereas on other devices it would take no time to notice it.

Factory resetting even via settings is risky if on stock ICS.Count yourself as lucky. But still keep your fingers crossed as the brick bug might appear to you later.Don't do any wipes/resets again. GOOD LUCK!
