I am having a problem installing some new rooms. They use the Aroma 2.0 installer. I am using the new cwm...1.7.3 I believe, but it keeps freezing after it says "installing" any suggestions? I want to be able to run backtrack on my tablet, but I can't because the roms that have the capability for it all use aroma to install the from.

Make sure you're using 1.7.3 recovery as that is the only requirement
If you have problems go to tegraowners and update to Thor's 1.7.3 touch recovery and read around some of the forum.
Acer recovery installer can also change/upgrade your recovery to latest version!
Cheers..

Okay so like many of you cwm isn't sticking and when I go into recovery I just have the Google logo, I want to flash ROMs so installed ROM manger and found that if you boot into recovery through that app you can get into cwm.
Would like some advice on which is the best and safest method you have used! Thanks

i assume so, since i use it over and over and over again. anyways, theres a file you have to remove or rename in the /system/ fs that causes the recovery to not stick. most custom roms already have it removed, stock rom you have to remove it. the file is recovery-from-boot.p, rename it or remove it and your recovery will stick(at least twrp, cwm should also).

I got an A501 today and it is still on stock HC 3.2. I'm definitely planning on using an ICS ROM on it. Would it be better to do everything as is now or let it take an OTA update first? Or does it even matter? Still trying to find my way around here.

Well, it tells me my tablet is up to date, but that can't be right.
Gonna read some more and try to figure out what my best option is.

Yea, I couldn't get the OTA anyway. It's all a little different over here from every other device I've ever used. I'm assuming that the Afterota tool will do everything I need for getting ready to flash a rom. Is that correct?

For sll the people still waiting for ics update in Pakistan. Here is a good news for you 4.0.4 update for note n7000 is available via OTA in Pakistan since 12 sept 2012.

I have updated 2 days back on my stock ROM thread.
Qazi have u rooted ur gt-n7000.....if yes then which is the safe method
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Yes dr.ketan its LR8.
yes i have rooted my phone but it has the stock rom and kernel thats why i was able to get the update over the air. If u are already on custom rom then u should download the stock rom from dr.ketans rom page and flash it with clockworkmod recovery.

Stock ROM need to flash using Odin (PC/Mobile), it can't be flash with CWM.
Anyway LR8 is pack with new launcher and feature like LRQ or it having same old launcher?
Tw is the same. Popup play is added and signature unlock. The stock keyboard layout is slightly changed with a new button added for attatchments. The touch button at the right has a little different layout. Besides that everything is the same. Battery life is slightly decreased. I dont know if its coz my phone is 6 month old and battery is aged.

CWM manager won't work on Note.
You need to flash custom kernel to get CWM
Hydracore and speedmod are known custom kernel for ICS
Thanks

You can update recovery from rom manager app. Touch version costs extra though. For manual flashing, all of the images are available for download on his site.
