I was thinking about putting my 1750 mAh battery back in my Galaxy Nexus since getting my nexus 7 because I use it more than my phone. How is the battery life for those with the normal battery that also use the Nexus 7 a lot.
Thanks
Jack

I think he's asking what the battery life is like on a normal gnex battery. I'm guessing he's better off asking in the correct device forum as this isn't about the 7.

Never use my GNexus anymore since I got my Galaxy 7 so I really couldn't tell you.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
So it lasts all day right ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
The gnex idles like a champ.... so if you don't use it much it should last a while. I like to think I use my gnex a decent amount during the day and I never have to charge it before bedtime. I do have the extended 2250ma battery tho--- I think the stock toroplus battery is 1950ma.

Well battery life on N7 is definitely amazing that's my first days full charge stats

I'm a long time tablet user and I just got my Nexus 7. I carry a Sprint Galaxy Nexus with the stock battery and under heavy use it easily lasts me til I get home from work. Usually around 10 hours with 15 to 20% left. If I take my tablet with me I can end a 10 hour shift with 50 or 60% left on my Gnex battery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
it's all about the 3850mah GNex battery. I can still kill the phone in a couple of hours, which is very annoying but much better than the 1750. As to the OP, your best bet is to just try it for a while yourself, thats really the only way to go about this
Damn I'm gonna just keep the extended in
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I guess the extended definitely helps if you tether to the N7 which I do when not with wifi

Hi all I've had my nexus 7 about two weeks from Tesco , I've only really got round to hammering it the last week due to being on holiday from work and I love it. Unfortunately the last two days I've noticed problems with it its a c70 , first problem slight screen raise lower left corner but more drastically over the last day its gone from one dead pixel to about 20 spread throughout the screen should I return it or is this the normal.

Return it. Why would you consider keeping a defective unit?

Don't want to return it and find that there all use just a poor screen and have same problem. Is there good and bad screens out there ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Theres always good and bad screens. But 20 dead pixels is a good sign you got the latter.

You should return it to get new one

Ok so think I need to readjust my first post of 20 dead pixels some were dust noticed them in bed so anger made me think there was more lol. I would say after screen has been polished there's about 5 to 6 only notice them on blacks . One is big so maybe more than one together. I don't want them to get worse but probarly as you noticed from my question I hate returning goods lol.

I take the bus everyday for 45min going and coming from work.
I have 4g most of the time and about 7-10min I'm locked onto 2g/edge
Now question is how much would my battery drain from the ups and downs of signal?
And BTW I use Google music sometimes. And ALL the time I'm either here looking thru XDA or using the browser.
GPS And locations are off as well.
Thanks!

That question can't be answered, it all depends on too much.
45 minutes with screen on in a bad signal area and on 4g? 15% or so? Impossible to guess.
Yea it was to hard for me to figure out. Thought I might ask here. Well I just got off the bus and my phones at 65% after 1hr screen on.

Stock kernel? If so try something else. Trinity, Franco.
Try gsm auto prl instead of wcdma preferred.

I currently use an iPad 2 alongside my N4, but it is getting a little slow, and i feel the need for something new. I really like the look of the nexus 10, my only concern being tablet optimised apps. This would also work well with the Google products I use, and have all the feaures i love about and roid and my N4. I am also considering the iPad Mini, nexus 7 and iPad 4.
Any thoughts on these issues would be appreciated, as well as any other N4 + tablet discussion
Thanks,
(PS, i'm kinda new, would this be more appropriate in the N10 or a generic tablet topic?)

Definitely a wooden table of some kind. You don't want to set it down on a metal or glass table. That glass back on the N4 will shatter.
In all seriousness though, my N4 and N10 complement each other well since the UI is almost completely consistent, plus transferring photos between them is a snap with NFC.

Just because you are a Whovian, I will not make fun of your table typo
But telling us what you use your tablet for on a typical basis would help us give you better suggestions.
Haha thanks for your sympathy.
I use my iPad for social networking, news and media consumption, light gaming and photo transfer with light editing. I rarely use the cameras, even for video calls. My favourite apps are flipboard and YouTube.

That's a condition of WiFi Calling for T-Mobile with WiFi as the "preferred" method of connectivity. No need for concern there.

Maybe WiFi calling is draining your battery life. Its still hard to see where you are at % wise. Where was the battery at with 1.4 hours of screen time?

Is that on all LTE at least? I only get 2.5 hours on my nexus 5 on lte
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
mainly 3g but sometimes LTE.It maybe fixed with an update but for now
I hope that changes in software update, or maybe some optimizations are in order. I get more usage out of my Galaxy S5. =T
I get a full day (24 hours) being 5 hours screen on in my S4 with light to moderate usage with WIFI. When using 3G it's really worse, probably because I have poor signal and it constantly drops.
The OP probably has something installed that is draining too fast. Or maybe the battery isn't yet calibrated. Might still need some charge cycles.
I saw another reviewer on YouTube that was claiming 5-7h screen on time over the past 2 weeks so reports seem quite inconsistent

Hey,
I know I am probably gonna get no where but I will try my luck. Can you please send me an invite if you have any left as I would really really really like to purchase this phone. It looks good. Also i noticed your android system is too high which is probably what is causing the battery drain. Usually location service ( so like google now) or most likely something has got it on a constant wakelock i.e. facebook app.
