Im used to the wildfire and it was so straight forward compared but I do like the x8. Also could some one link me to the latest xrecovery files for manual install. Thanks in advance.

Lol should nominate you for a comedy award. Not hard to answer at all really is it? When people ask questions like this in wildfire forum they don't get smart ass answers pull ur finger out mate just wanted a bit of help. Must be too much to ask? Also it would of been alot quicker to link me than it was to type that post what's the deal?

But all the info you asked is really in this very forum on the first page, do a bit of searching.

No there isn't newer version
To be exact, there is a newer version of xrecovery, but it is not X8 compatible. So 0.1 mini is the newest version for X8.

Congratulations on your new phone. What are you developing?
I will nominate you for ignorant reward for wanting other people to do your searching and breaking basic posting rules, and then be smart about it

Thread Closed.
1st. This is Dev section and your thread should be in General.
2nd. There is already an AppsSd thread here.
I performed the webtop mod but did not root device, as the webtop mod was pretty simple and I have no use for root.
With the new announcment that an update is coming the 29th I would like to revert back to stock so I can obtain this update.
Problem is there are really no clear instructions on doing this.
I am somewhat technically advanced (I rooted and put a custom rom on a g1, but used step by step guides to do so).
I have found many different instructions on rooting and the instructions for returning webtop to stock are layed out for the more advanced users.
Can anyone dumb it down a little and help the novice users like me revert to stock so we can get the update.
Im sure there are a lot of people out there who are in the same boat as myself.
Thanks!

Did you guys find download and install RSD 5.0
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Don't even know what that is.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Go to link I posted download sbf 1.2.6 then download rsd 5.0 if you've connected your phone to your computer and your computer has recgonized the phone then you don't need to worry about the drivers. Once you've installed rsd and downloaded 1.2.6 follow instructions they're super clear and step by step

Hey, i would suggest reading around the internet about rooting more before actually trying it out. simplest way to root would be through CFroot, which is how I did it. Subsequent to that most custom roms will include busybox/superuser.
As mentioned, you can upgrade to gingerbread yourself -- there are a lot of manuals here, just search!
I have update my Galaxy myself and its easy, you must search and read the manuals.

I realise you feel frustrated, but starting a new thread really isn't going to help, especially since several people have tried to help you already.

Hi im using windows phone 7 I like to go with latest Android could any one guide me how to do this...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Hi,
Please title your thread properly, and please search before posting. Both of these are among xda rules.
This is not HTC-support, no one will "guide" you. This is xda, you need to go out there and find stuff yourself, it's not that hard. Just google "How to install android on the HD2". Instead of the ROM the guide will suggest, use a ROM that is the "latest".
