Cant root offical 2.3.5 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello!
I installed offical huawei u8800 android 2.3.5. I used this topic: Offical 2.3.5 I installed it and all worked.
After that i tried to root it with z4root. It didnt work. When i pressed the permanent root it just closed after 10 seconds.
Then i tried to root it with superoneclick 2.3.3 and 2.3.1. It didnt work. It stopped at Step #7: looking for device and the program wasnt responding.
I tried doomlord v3 and v4 too. They didnt work. It said that my filesystem is read only. It rebooted and then i tried with root finder app. It said that phone is not rooted
I didnt have adb or google usb drivers on my computer so i tried my other computer. It installed both of the drivers correctly.
Tried superoneclick 2.3.1 and 2.3.3 again. Same problem as before.
I tried doomlord v3 and 4. Again, same problem as before.
Offical 2.3.5 has bootloader lock so i cant use superboot.
2.3.5 works fine. I want to try the Aurora ics rom but i cannot install it because of this.
Here's a thing that i havent tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490
Do i need root for this? Is it safe to do?
What should i do now?

To get the unlocked bootloader from the link you must first root the device.
What version of 2.3 you flashed? If is 528(the latest) the methods you tried don't work. You need another way. There is a post with a link for root 528 rom:

2.1 leak or 2.1 root

bought a phone off ebay (eris)
how do i know if its running 2.1leak or 2.1 root?
Check the bootloader version. 1.46 or 1.47 and it would be the OTA; 1.49 and it's a leak.
[Edit: Hold volume down and the power button when you power it on to check.]
it says 1.47. does this mean i can downgrade to 1.5 using tutorial
I'm not an expert at this, but i do know (i think) two things. One, hboot V 1.47 can be rolled back to 1.5 via that tutorial. Two, you can install the original root rom, as it works with the OTA update, directly to the current version... (I think)
i have been trying to flash amon recovery image so i can do the 1.5 downgrade tutorial but it doesnt seem to work
Try installing the root pb00img file, and see what happens, as it seems the phone has the OTA update, and you have to have root to flash the recovery image... (I believe)
If you are trying to root, you can do so directly from the ota.
in terms of rooting android 1.5 and 2.1 are pretty much the same.
you can root using both
you can flash the same roms on both
you can downgrade back to 1.5 once you root on both
etc

I would recommend that you check out the following thread. They made a nice app that can help through the process.

[Q] downgrade frg83 to frf91

Can anyone help me downgrade frg83 to frf91 . i have tried renaming the frf91 build to passimg.zip . powered down the phone , held the volume down key and power button. it checks the passimg.zip but then doesnt prompt to update the phone .
Where are you getting the FRF91 build from? http://developer.htc.com is your best bet.
Thanks for the link!

That link points to a guide to root FRG83. Once you're rooted, you can follow this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726258) to downgrade your bootloader (so your phone can accept custom ROMs that require the old bootloader such as Cyanogenmod 6.0) and to downgrade your phone to EPF30. The link to create an image is dead, but the files you need can be found in post 40. Ignore any OTA update prompts you may receive after downgrading. From there, you have 2 options:
1) You can use universal androot (easy to find if you google it) to root your device and flash a custom recovery image using ROM Manager from the market. Then you can flash a custom ROM with root access.
2) You can search for and download the stock update files to update your phone to w/e build you desire.
Post back if you need any help or to let us know everything worked.
I personally followed the same procedure, so i know it works.

How to root Huawei U8800 Pro

Because I couldn't find step by step procedure how to root and install recovery console on Huawei U8800 Pro, I decided to write it myself.
This procedure was tested on Windows 7 64bit and Android 2.2.2 Froyo.
Installing USB drivers
1. Download USB drivers from here http://www.mediafire.com/?5z6i5cv8l6br292
2. Connect your phone to USB on your computer
3. Follow these steps to install USB driver http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html#Win7
Rooting
4. Download SuperOneClick v2.2 from here ftp://shortfuse.org/SuperOneClick/Packages/SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse.zip
5. Extract ZIP content
6. Right click SuperOneClick.exe and select "Run as administrator". This is very important!!!
7. Wait till it says that your phone is rooted
Installing unofficial Clockwork Mod Recovery 5.0.2.7
8. Download and install Root explorer from here http://getandroidstuff.com/download-root-explorer-android-v23/
9. Follow these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343276
With this procedure I successfully rotted my phone and installed recovery 5.0.2.7. With this recovery console u will be able to install whatever ROM u like. Just remember to create backup of your official ROM first!!! I needed it badly when I discovered that new MIUI for U8800 Pro is not working as expected.
Backup can be a life saver!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the SuperOneClick method does not work on Gingerbread. I've rooted mine by replacing the boot.img with the one in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326525

How to root .62 firmware

Hey guys,
Me again !
I know this thread is a duplicate too but I really searched and found nothing of import.
I unlocked the bootloader last night which in turn resetted my phone, as in factory reset, god damn it ).
And then I tried: rooting through Flashtool, Doomlord's V4, nothing worked.
rooting through doomkernel should automatically root it, try superoneclick?

Already said that doomlord's does not work and I tried superoneclick as well and it also doesn't work.
.62 can only be rooted with a pre rooted kernel
Without custom kernels, I used this method and got my phone rooted.
Just download recoveryPLAY.img (google it) and place it in androidSDk folder where the fastboot.exe is located. Switch on your phone using fastboot and enter the command fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img. Also download the RootXperia.zip and flash it once you are in recovery. Later on If you want CWM (recovery) on your phone , you can follow this thread.

[Q] Wont root after manual update?

I just pushed the new 4.2 update via adb,
I then tried re-rooting as I lost root in the project.
I used WugFreshs at first, which said successful. I tried root check and titanium backup which both said no root access.
I then tried mikes toolkit and chose root and install busybox, all that wen through great and said successful, so I retried Tibackup and rootchecker again, both were denied root access.
This time round, rootcheck said "System Running Slow" whilst checking for root access.
What should I do?
Re-boot into recovery and clear cache etc?
Factory reset?
Both?
For some reason superuser is installed not supersu if that makes a difference?
Any help appreciated.

I apply the update by doing fresh install:
-always backup your data
Then I use wug's nexus root toolkit:
-flash stock + unroot 4.1.2 jzo54k
-flash zip stock + unroot 4.2 jop40c
-change the model type to "NAKASI: Android *.*.* Any build"
-apply root

I applied the update over the top of 4.1.2, wiped cache and then restarted.
I then used Wug's toolkit to root, which didn't work.
So I tried Mikes, which also didnt work.
Both report the Root as being succesful, but they arent.
If I change the model to all types on Wug's, would that make a difference?
Is it worth trying a manual root?
I use the Google Nexus 7 Toolkit which was great in fixing the problems after upgrade. Flashing the previous version bootloader (I think that is what it was) solved the root problem. The hints and guidance in this application are great and have always solved my problems. No offence meant to Wug here, I just find the other application suits me better.

As already said, both Toolkits have been attempted and both report that its rooted, but my device tells me otherwize, as do Titanium Backup.
Can someone just give me a step by step for what I should do to gain Root again?!

Hi, are you using the fully updated version of Toolkit (updated to include the 4.2 stuff. When I did mine I was told to go ahead but if it didn't work the next step was to flash the 4.1 bootloader? as it was compatible with 4.2
The root with the 4.2 bootloader didn't give me root so I flashed the 4.1 bootloader and rooted again. This was successful for me. The Toolkit application gives you step by step instructions as you request as long as it is updated to do 4.2 and follow the advice you should have no problem.
I don't think you can do the full updates in the application unless you are a donater. If I remember correctly you cannot update the application unless you use the donater version. The update for 4.2 came out at almost the same time as 4.2 was being pushed to devices.
You sound cluey enough to know you must use USB debugging but many users don't realise this or the tapping on the build trick to get the developer options available so you can select USB debugging.

Hey mate, thanks for your reply !
I downloaded both ToolKits yesterday, so I'm guessing they are the newly updated ones?
Yes my tablet has usb debugging enabled, and is put into the Camera Mode.
I will have another go tonight, and try a different way, including using the "All Models" choice you mentioned.
If this doens't work, whereabouts in the ToolKit(Wug's) if the option to downgrade HBOOT in order to try the Root method you attempted which was successful.
Again, thanks mate !

I don't use Rug's Toolkit but Mike's Toolkit (only because it is easier to follow and use because it tells you what to do at all stages). You can see if it is updated by checking whether it has functions for 4.2 - I always use it for flashing the latest roms as well as the unlocking, root, recovery, etc, all of which the Toolkit guides you through. It even downloads the roms for you.
My only question is why did you put it in camera mode, change it back.

Just install the 4.2 that is already Stock rooted, de-odexed apps.
Install the ROM as already Stock rooted, de-odexed apps.
