Get the main flex cable replaced instead..
In the long run, it's not going to work out well when you need to adjust the volume during a call or such.

[Q] (Q) replaced digitizer but volume buttons doesnt not work?

Hey, i just replace my digitizer for my t-mobile hd2 and successful got it back together and thought that everything was work, but i could not get the volume button in. I got it in after putting the chassis on but the volume button still doesn't work. So if anybody could give me some input on this that would be very helpful.
Do you feel the button take action when you press it? If it does, then the contact is made with the button, the problem might be something else.
a guy from HTC repair said its better to change whole screen instead of replacing digitizer.
As mentioned, can you feel the button depressing when you add pressure to the rocker? Pull the case back off and press the button manually to see if it works when powered on. If it works then, realign the flex cable and retry. If it still doesn't work, then you most likely damaged the flex cable and need to replace it.

In addition to said above check housing screws, they must be tightened because if they are missing plastic volume keyboard will misalign with flex cable volume keys and it will be impossible to press them.

[Q] Is there any way to flash the rom without volume buttons

Hi Friends,
My HD2 digitizer was broken when I got it and I decided to replace the digitizer by self. Everything went well, and when I assembled the phone back I noticed that I have damaged the side volume buttons they dont click at all.
so My question is there any other way to flash roms. I currently have a android Sense 3.0 rom loaded on to it. Please advise....
No you can't that
you could just search the forums. there were some threads about broken volume buttons and as far as i can remember solutions were found for your problem.
Any thread links???? please....
boot into recovery and the HOME & WINDOWS BUTTON act as a volume up or down,so u can select what u need using these buttons

The problem is difficult to diagnose from your description alone, there could be various factors involved, from faulty flexes, to digitizer and mainboard connectors.
I suggest if you are asking what you need to repair, you need to talk to a professional. And if you can potentially manage the assembly/disassembly, the volume key membrane is a part of a main flex that connects pretty much everything, it cannot be purchased separately or attached.

volume button cable

hi there my volume cable ribbon has come away from the main board and has all split and everything. therefore my volume buttons dont work
i have found a new replacement part
how do i go about replacing this?
it dosent use a jawbone connector and it isnt soldered to the board. so is it stuck on?
i personally cannot help you, but their is a user here called htc wildfire repairs. they may be able to help you further.

Hi,
Maybe you broke something while replace the camera. Does you "volume down" button work?
By the way, I found one thing on other forums which worked for some people:
"turn power off. Then push power button and volume 'up' button at the same time, until the phone starts up again"
Did you try this already?

Unfortunately it looks like hardware problem. Did you replace the camera by your own? Maybe you broke something by accident ....

Power off the phone and then power it ON by pressing Power button while holding Home button.
If you get into the download mode it will mean Vol- button problem.
It can be solved by replacing middle flame. Will cost you $12-15 if you do it yourself. You know what to do if you've replaced the camera.

The middle flame means the recent-apps and back button part?

No, it's virtually all grey and silver plastic you see.
Middle frame (example).
P.S. Samsung calls this part "rear case", but it's sold on ebay as "middle frame" or "back housing" or "bezel" (use these words for search).

Thank you very much again.
But does this means something there is broken or anything like that ? I am sure I didnt broke anything there.
The buttons themselves are inside this plastic.
I don't think you've broken something but nohing is eternal.
Look, for Vol+ and Vol- buttons to work, three "golden" connectors on main logic board (photo 1) should connect three lower connectors on bezel flex cable (photo 2) and three upper connectors on bezel flex cable should connect three connectors on middle frame (photo 3).
If you've replaced the camera then you know how to disassemble the phone and can check yourself what is out of order in this part of the device.
