[Q] (Q) replaced digitizer but volume buttons doesnt not work?

Hey, i just replace my digitizer for my t-mobile hd2 and successful got it back together and thought that everything was work, but i could not get the volume button in. I got it in after putting the chassis on but the volume button still doesn't work. So if anybody could give me some input on this that would be very helpful.
Do you feel the button take action when you press it? If it does, then the contact is made with the button, the problem might be something else.
a guy from HTC repair said its better to change whole screen instead of replacing digitizer.
As mentioned, can you feel the button depressing when you add pressure to the rocker? Pull the case back off and press the button manually to see if it works when powered on. If it works then, realign the flex cable and retry. If it still doesn't work, then you most likely damaged the flex cable and need to replace it.

In addition to said above check housing screws, they must be tightened because if they are missing plastic volume keyboard will misalign with flex cable volume keys and it will be impossible to press them.

At first i forgot to put back the last 4 screws so the housing was not on tight enough but i now i did that and its still not working. So now im going to try look over the flex cables again and hope that will works.

The problem is difficult to diagnose from your description alone, there could be various factors involved, from faulty flexes, to digitizer and mainboard connectors.
I suggest if you are asking what you need to repair, you need to talk to a professional. And if you can potentially manage the assembly/disassembly, the volume key membrane is a part of a main flex that connects pretty much everything, it cannot be purchased separately or attached.

[Q] Help! My volume buttons won't work think I broke ribbon cable

Long story short my S5 got wet and I took it apart, but when I put it back together the volume keys aren't working. I'm not sure If I need to buy the midsection of this phone that houses the volume and power buttons or if I need to buy a new LCD glass. I think I may have cut the ribbon cable on the left side of the LCD screen. See the below image of how the two cables look like they should be connected but are disconnected. Every tear down and pics of this phone show these two cables being connected. Can someone please confirm if I did indeed cut this cable and if it does control the volume up and down buttons? I want to exhaust all my options before I break down and buy the midsection. If I did infact cut the cable then it will be a costly mistake. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Im not sure if you did but for now you can download a volume widget till you can have it looked at
Sent from my SM-G900W8 using XDA Free mobile app
I wish it were that simple as I have another problem with my phone, but in order to fix that problem I need to fix the volume button problem. My phone is stuck in boot loop from getting wet. It's unrooted and I could access the screen to wipe data when the volume buttons worked, but even after trying to wipe data it would still stay in boot loop. Now, If I help the volume down, home, and power button I could access the Downloading screen. This screen will give me hope of reloading a new OS, but I can't get to this screen till I can figure out my volume button issue. I"m hoping some one can shed some light to my question above. Thanks

My S4-GT I9505 is stuck in Recovery mode

I have a Samsung S4-GT I9505 with a volume up damaged or stuck key , so it always boots into recovery since the volume up is stuck and in order to get it boot I have to keep pressing on the volume down while it is booting .
I took my phone to many repair shops and no one knew how to fix this issue , I know that while I'm in the rom I can install any audio widget to get the volume up but to me this is not a solution .
please , if any one knows Samsung GT-I9505 volume key ways or any clue on how to fix this issue , kindly I ask you to provide me with your experience .
thanks alot in advance
Take the phone apart so you can see the motherboard, then reassemble the phone. Sometimes the buttons on the case get out of whack and press against the volume control buttons on the motherboard, causing this issue. If that doesn't work, replacing the motherboard may be your only alternative, as the buttons on the board are not user replaceable.

thanks for the reply , but I did took apart the phone many times and no success .
Then it's most likely the button on the board that has gone bad. I am presuming you tested the button on the board while you had the back off?
