has anybody found a solution to this rather annoying issue?
found some old threads suggesting that this is actually an android issue (not just motorola),
but no real solutions

Change notification ringtone to your custom or android default: settings > sound > notification ringtone. Note: it will change your usb connection sound and message ringtone

I have an HTC TYTN and when I got into the Sounds and notification applet under settings and select an event then select a sound then click the play button no sound is played.
I figured maybe the sounds weren't in the \windows directory but I checked and all of the sounds are there and if I click on the sounds through the windows directory, they play just fine so I know they are not corrupt. I tried to find a posting mentioned maybe a registry key that points to the location of these sounds to see if maybe that is messed up or something. Anyways, I don't get any sounds during specific events like sending or receiving text messages even when everything is turned on because of this.
Anybody come across this issue before?
Thanx!
Nevermind.......
Problem solved. User error.
how do u solve it ... same problem here...
My guess, turn volume back UP......
Hi everyone. I have searched a lot in the forums and even though I found a few threads that raised this question, none of them provided a solution, so here's the question yet again.
Is it possible in Windows Mobile (I have 6) to have something like a pulsating vibrate while a ringtone is playing??
I tried fiddling with the script in the registry HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds\ringtone0\script, but couldn't get it to do what I wanted. The best I could manage was a repetitive vibrate without ringtone, and the repeat couldn't be less than 1 second.
Does anyone know of ANY way of having pulsating vibrate while ringtone is playing, be it a comercial program, or a registry setting, or something like mortscript????
Does no one have any suggestions like where to look either?
Bump.
I'd like to know this too

Im on vodafone uk, and like to check my credit using the *#1345# command which brings my balance up on screen.... but in doing so, plays a tone ... my old 2i never did this. i know the tytn does.... anyone know how i can check me credit silently?
thanks
Anyone have any experience with this? it's just I used to opt for this method of checking my balance as it was silent and didn't require any call.... Not anymore. I have to Mute the phone before I check it in any situation where loud tones arn't desired.
Perhaps you can change or mute this type of notification in TF3D - Settings - Sound - Advanced - Notifications ?
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I am not being notified by an alert sound when I get am sms or voicemail or any of the notifications.
I believe everything is turned on to make the tone sound but it's silent. I am getting the notification in the with the flashing green LED and the notification icon in the title bar.
Please don't tell me I have a fault!! Grateful for any help.
Thanks
Same issue here.
Hard Reset solves it.
I found what trigger this problem for me is installation of a language pack.
I've read somewhere that someone said what triggered it for him was something about playing with location (country). What I saw is that after I install the language pack, my location is changed too (when I check in regional settings). Maybe this is the trigger...
I solved this by going into the Windows interface which can be damn tricky without a stylus!!
My Sense UI wasn't picking up the Windows settings, so the notifications were ticked in Sense but not in WinMo, and WinMo was the setting being used.
Possibly a fault with the Sense UI??
Thanks
Hi can you tell me how you mangaed to solve this
because i have been through the phne with a fine tooth comb and i cannot get that sms sent notification to work.
On closer inspection of the registry i do no think there is even a string for the notification (HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications ect.
In the windows sound settings there are settings for sent MMS but not Sent SMS or Sent Message.
On My old Blackstone it seems there ere far more notification options to be enabled or disabled as you wish. If anyone has an idea what string or information we could add to the above registry setting then i think we might have nailed it?
HTC are you listening
Hello,
I don't get a sound notification when i got a new mail or sms.
I used the led notification mod, witch is working.
The vibration works also.
System vulome is 20% Telephone volume = 80%
I did try to select an other "ring tone" this didn't work.
How can i get this fixed?
2nd side question, I want Flash to work on the phone, fore opera and ie.
Did find the operaflashfix, this didn't work.
ps, have the newest radio rom and NL rom.
I had the same problem but I downloaded sms fix from HTC website and now everything is ok. So maybe that is solution

I'd rater not use this fix, because i have no problems with sending sms.
And I heard that there could come more error's on using this fix.
any other methods?

Could it be you set to "Vibrate" > Only !!
Try Goto > Settings > Sound & Display > click on "Notification sounds" > click on "New message" > Vibrate (set to "On" not "Only")

I believe that notifications use the system volume. Could it simply be too quiet? (I may be wrong about that)
