I realize it actually might when using app that have the possibility. Of streaming things at a higher quality. But I'm talking about web browsing, Facebook, downloads, etc.
if the web site is a static page, that has no ads loading and whatnot, then the same amount of data is transferred, although slower, but being able to load pages quicker means people surf faster and more often which leads to more data use

Heres one way of watching TV. - http://www.spbclub.com/accessory.php?accessory_id=46
Anyone know of any other way of watching TV on the Universal?
Not unless you stream it.

you mean internet tv? streaming live subsription?
I mean streaming it, how and what you choose to stream is your choice.
i watch using handi tv... too bad my connection is so slow and i seldom get picture.. so i uninstalled it.. :-(
Yes, currently, steraming is the only solution - to my knowledge, the SD card-based tuners still haven't been released. (See my article at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/in...l_tv_receiver_sdio_cards&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for a list of them.)
Why does it take so long to browse the internet and load webpages? I have a 12mbit high speed connection. Is it because Universals WLAN card is 11mbps only?
it's because it takes more ram to render non-standards-compliant web pages. the uni isn't known for it's large amount of ram.
11mbps is more than enough for web browsing. for example, i have 24mbps downstream adsl, but when i look at the usage, it's about 1.5mbps when loading a page. high speeds only really benefit sharing, downloading or streaming.
Has anyone else noticed the slow browsing speed when they are using Opera version 9-10 on 2g/3g TMOUS. I get about 700-1200kbps as opposed to 3000-7000kbps when using either opera mini, internet explorer, or skyfire. It works pretty decent on wifi connections, but when it's turned off, the speeds will drop down big time. Is there a fix for this?? Is anyone else having the same issue?
My I.E is even slower. Takes a minute to load a page. My Opera is not much faster. It's ridiculous. My orbit2 is faster.
I get full HSDPA and can only get 190kbps.....
id kill for the speeds youre getting
what I do right now is use opera mini or skyfire when I'm on the mobile network, when I'm using wifi, I used opera 10. I just wished I could use opera 10 for all scenerio since it's soo smooth in rendering pages.
I'm tethering on my PC via my G1 (HTC Dream). It is against the rules of my provider to tether, but I have no home internet and I only want to do some minimal browsing.
They can see I'm tethering through two ways - unusually high upload/download speeds and also what device I am using. They only really get notified whilst finding the unusual speeds though.
So, my question is: Can I slow down my Firefox, Chrome or even that horrible Internet Explorer down in order to not get caught?
I don't mind incredibly slow speeds, as long as I don't get caught!!!!
It's loading pages far slower than non-acceleration activated.
I don't see any benefits in using the accelerated mode except for having all the data come from one IP source (useful if you have spotty internet, like tethered 3/4G, I suppose).
Anyone seeing actual usage over the acceleration mode?
Hello,
The data works fine with my vivo Air in whatsapp, instagram and twitter. It is a little slow but works.
With facebook, and loading browser articles it simply does not work unless it is on wifi. This is a problem and I am looking for help?
The strange thing? The same chip, on my NEXUS 5 , will have like instant facebook, and browser updates, literally instant. Is is possible the vivo air simply cannot process internet as fast? Wierd because on wifi it does work better,
Thanks.
