Video Converter? - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

I have been searching the forum for this but I haven't found anything. I'm looking for a pc client video converter that has the perfect options to convert videos to play flawlessly on the gs3. I am coming from the HTC One S and what I use todo there was just download movies in the same format and res. as an ipod and it worked great and looked good. Now on the gs3 the screen is bigger so it doesn't look as great. If I could convert the full 1080p movies I have in my collection that I watch on my tv I would get this bad boy loaded up.
I know someone out there has the right client for this this please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advanced.

Another Perfect Video converter for our X1s

Just found this last night and don't know if anyone posted about this before, but it works flawlessly with my X1
Program: Format Factory
Link: http://www.formatoz.com/download.html
Just set it for Sony Ericsson X1 as your default if you want, then select any file(s) you wanna convert, and BAM!!!! 1G of video converted in 5mins and reduced to about 150mb...Hope that this helps anybody else here like it helped me...Alohas for now.
P.S. Forgot to mention that this program only converts video files, but pictures as well as music files...just about anything...
Thanks. Am downloading it and will give it a go shortly.
What do you use to play the files on the X1
It appears that the program sets the X1's res at 320 x 240, I find that an unnaceptable quality for encoding to the X1.
It's a nice program though. I 'll work on custome settings . .
I use it to convert a video in 480*272 (I don't want 320*240!!!) and the audio is not synchronised with the video...
I use "HD Encoder.exe" found some where around here. it works fricking great for high def video like movies, divx, etc...
google it up!
You think you'd encode a video from 1, 2, 4G fo a bout an hours or so and then outputs to a file about 650MB for an X1? isn't it a little too big? I mean to phone came out with just 4G you'd only have enough for 3 movies. is there another lower file size converter?
Thanks for information

Sorry, but I believe that the biggest they have for the X1 is 16GB...as for me, I'm using an 8GB microSDHD card and it's way more than enough because I only watch movies on my phone only during my class breaks which are about 15-30mins. What's so hard in transferring the files to/from your memory card anyways Transferring 4GB of files onto my card only takes me 2-3mins.

I tried many versions of that program and all of them didn't work with me...I always get errors with that program.

I'm also trying to find the sweet spot by manually setting it, but I'm having a difficult time doing so
My recommendation? Stick to Projection's HD video converter. See sticky for more info.

Yep....does the job.
Or if you can find the download link on their site and like to tweak your videos to the 9th degree you can use super
Super and Xillsoft are the two i used before i found the projection one. Projection thank you so much you are ftw!
Why take the trouble and convert anything at all?
Just use the coreplayer! it will play your basic xvid etc video's perfectly.
Yeah.. it's 700mb for a movie.. but it's not that you need to stack 20 movies on your phone

Using Super to convert Video - Quick Question

Guys,
I'm using Super as per this link ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3103846&postcount=394 ) to re-encode my video files for optimum playing on my Touch HD.
However whenever I choose Flash video it shows he output file to be an SWF and not FLV.
I have a later build than that shown in the picture and I can't get it to say FLV.
Can somebody help?
Thanks
EDIT: Scrap that I clicked encode and it gave me the option then...sorry - consider closed
hold up a sec pls.
this is even more of a newb question but..
What if you just want to covert a simple naughty mpg file from limewire etc?
would you still need to buy Coreplayer to get good result?
I'm using the old settings from my n95 atm so any basic settings appreciated.
That's a good question. quite frankly my Artemis was easier to use in terms of video playback...I encoded with PocketDivxEncoder and made the res smaller and job done. However I find lots of videos playing better in ALBUM than in Coreplayer (which is shocking in most flicks to be fair).
I have yet to find a "one size fits all" guide. I grab mostly XVIDs and want to convert them (I'm now downloading 720p rips and I'll see how they convert to FLV)...I converted a 720p trailer to FLV and it's lovely!
oh ok thanks.
I really have read up a bit more on the Wiki or other stickies cos I think I understood about two words of that second paragraph
I just wanna convert some free porn that's all..
If you want the perfect videos for the Touch HD, use this tool:
HTC Touch Video Converter
It has the optimal settings and is very easy to use.
...and it also doesn't give me very good videos to play - I think perhaps it's my source vid?
I used the coverter for more than 100 files already (HDTV and SDTV) and all have very good quality.
One thing is important for playback:
You MUST use Windows Media Player or the HTC Album for playback !
Only these programs can utilize the hardware acceleration and you need it, because the converted files are close to the maximum the HD can play.
If you still don't get good results, I guess you are right and the source file isn't the best.
Maybe you try some other files to see where the problem is.

watch films etc!

hi. thinking of moving from the compact iv to hd2! question: how easy is it watch movies on the go with hd2? how big sd card would it need,,, and what format is the best to convert dvd's or tv program recordings? ta!
(the screen is so huge,,, looks like next gen iphone will be copying htc!)

If you rip dvds with something like Nero, you can create DivX avi files that will play a treat in core player.
The native Windows WMP format plays perfectly in media player too.
The native HTC player format is mp4, and to be honest, that looks the best to me, but DivX in core player is about 99% as good.
Whenever I have something to watch, it's usually a DivX file, so I just copy it to the phone and watch it as is, without conversion (about 350MB per hour). I have a 16GB card with about 6GB of music, 2GB of installers and installed apps, and therefore 8GB free to put vids on (at the moment).
I should be able to get about 10 films on there, or 20 typical episodes of TV programs, at the above-stated average size.
A few people have had problems with core player, but there's plenty of settings that you can change. I've got it set to play nicely now, and there's very rarely any lag (toggling fullscreen off and then back on gets rid of that for me), and it looks gorgeous on the massive bright screen.
I am using HTC Touch HD video converter (use search in the forums for download ). It works fine to convert for example divx movies.

I find this to be putting the audio out of sync very slightly when converting xvids etc.

Yes me too. I converted several TV shows and the audio remained out of sync by about 0.25 seconds for the duration.
If you can get Core Player or TCPMP (core player beta) working well (which just takes some settings fondling), then you don't need to convert things. AVIs and MPEGs play perfectly for me.

Yeah, I know what you mean too! In fairness, the hi-def movie test thread with the helicopters movie on it looks sooooooooo much sharper and cleaner in the HTC player than it does in CorePlayer.
I'm just impatient. I just "rip" a movie or tv show and watch it straight off. I find converters to usually take as long as it takes to watch it.

Hehe, When I get time I am going to dowload a variety of converters and try to find one I like and one that works well. Ideally the one that was made for the HD would be perfect if the audio sync was fixed. I must admit though I havn't had chance to actively look for any solutions to that problem yet.
One thing I would like from the HTC Player would be a resume option.

In CorePlayer, go to Menu, Tools, Settings, Select Page, Video and set output to Raw FrameBuffer or GDI, and make sure quality is High. I also set Smooth Zoom on (not sure what it is though), and turn Dither off (I've had it hang on me when this was on).
I have mine on Raw, and it plays movies that are SD (telly size) perfectly. I can watch them on my TV via my PC, or just copy the AVI onto my memory card and watch them on the phone.
Thank You , I´ll try the new settings when i get home.
Thanks
Thanks for all the posts... damn this forum is so good!!!
Just one thing... is there a way to watch videos in landscape on Coreplayer? The version I have doesnt have that option...

What version are you using? That's been in every version of coreplayer I've had.
I've just done a hard reset on my phone, and haven't installed coreplayer yet, so I can't tell you how to do it exactly, but the it's in menu under options and I believe it's orientation. Also, when a movie is playing it, touching it usually makes it landscape and fullscreen too.

FYI: Handbrake preset for Atrix Video

Came across this tutorial for preset to convert your HD videos for the Atrix.
http://www.knowyourcell.com/motorol...d_transfer_them_to_the_motorola_atrix_4g.html
So does anyone think this is weird that dual core has to go through converting software while my galaxy tab and nexus s can run all my ha qualities from jetvd and tubemate without a hitch ....will there be updates that will help with video playback
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
^same outcry from xoom users
So far I'm not that impressed with the video playback of the Atrix, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see what the 1080p update brings with it.
Attached is a Handbrake preset that I've tweaked for the Atrix. I tried various settings and these are it.
I keep getting an error
I tried your settings and messing with a bunch of them. I can watch in in VLC on the pc, but no matter what player I use on the atrix I get "file cannot be displayed or played"...any thoughts?
Strange. I encoded a DVD movie, BBC Top Gear episodes (from XVID) and a couple of other stuff, all worked perfectly for me.
Under the advanced tab, try setting the reference frames to 0 and slide the Psychovisual Rate Distro slider all the way to the left.
Have you try Vital Player? It seems to play almost or a lot of stuff Im throwing it.
Curious, have any of you got a good rip from Ripbot 264? I have a couple of Blu Rays I've converted via MakeMKV, but then I need to run them through something else. These are in a VC1 format and Handbrake doesn't recognize them. Ripbot264 does but I can't get a good file out of it. Any help with the presets? I got a good one the first time, but it cropped out a lot... (my fault on the settings I think) and the 2nd try I set it to make an mkv, another oops as the atrix won't read it.

Did you change the container to mkv, because the Atrix seems to hate mkv.
Bit of a bump but anyone had luck with this?
I tried above instructions, also made sure I started off with the 'normal' profile not high profile, still nothing plays. Is this the whole 'tegra2 can't play hi profile x264' thing, if so how do I get handbrake to output baseline?

After Blu Ray conversion via MakeMKV I've been running the files through the 'Badaboom 2' transcoder (using the AppleTV preset).
I did have to switch to 'MoboPlayer' because the 'Act 1' video player I was using would not play the AppeTV files.
thanks very much
After much experimentation I figured out the key is to encode in x264 baseline NOT normal or hi profile.
Basically use the same presets as iphone 3gs in terms of x264 parameters (not resolution etc.) and it will play.
A bit pathetic really since it can push jaw dropping 3D games but not video encoded with a spec that's pretty much mainstream. I'm not even talking about 1080p. Just be nice to be able to drop a typical 720p x264 rip in and play. DIsappointed

[Q] Watch Nexus 4 HDMI videos on TV

I have just purchased this SlimPort Micro USB to HDMI adapter for my N4 on Amazon.
(I'm new to XDA so I can't yet post links, but if you YouTube "SlimPort Hands on with Google Nexus 4" there's a great demo of the product.)
While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I've been messing around with my videos and am trying to copy my HD videos, TV shows, movies etc. from my computer onto my Nexus 4. I'm having trouble doing so and this is why I'm here. Any help regarding my problem would be great! Basically all I need to do is find a way to transfer a HD video from my computer to my N4 and then be able to watch it both on my device and through my TV using the SlimPort adapter in perfect HD.
Thanks in advance,
Kev
*EDIT*
Last night I thought maybe the format of my videos is not supported by the N4 so I converted one into MP4 - which took an extremely long time for a 50 minute long video and then I just copied it into the "Movies" folder of the N4 and it plays fine through the gallery and the quality is brilliant. So now I'm just wondering if this will look just as good on my TV. Also, I've got tonnes of videos on my computer so is there any quicker way to convert them into MP4 or any other format supported by the N4? All I'll be doing is copying it onto the device, watching it on through my TV and then deleting it off the device.
Thanks again.

You shouldn't have to convert anything. Download aftermarket video players such as: DICE Player or MX Video Player.
