I have CM9 installed on my old Galaxy S for my younger bro with the latest devil kernel and CPU at 100-1200mhz. On my S2 I have CM9 with siyah 3.4.1 at 200-1200mhz.
When comparing the two, there is a massive difference in touch sensitivity and scrolling. The Galaxy S is so so much better and responsive and makes the S2 feel crap when you go back to using it. I hate the elastic scrolling on ICS!! It is perfect on the galaxy s, comparable to the S2 with Gingerbread, but S2 with ICS scrolling has never been the same. Fluxi kernel with xxkernel gingerbread touch settings seemed to improve the scrolling a bit, but I still prefer to stay on siyah. My CM9 galaxy s2 advanced settings touch sensitivity is set on 20
The second thing is the screen colours.
The galaxy s has much better whites and the S2 seems to have an ugly green tint to the screen. A difference is also noticed in the background of settings.
The galaxy s is still a damn good phone! But I love my S2!
I wish I could see for myself, but my Galaxy s has a broken screen. I agree on the scrolling issues but the rest I can't say. Can you upload some pics of both devices side by side?
On what cm9 release are you on? RC2 improved scrolling a lot!
I'm on 21/06 CM9, might update tomorrow and try the new changes

I've been checking the changelogs and that's what I thought. Maybe the updated newer kernel has been the difference.
Cant wait for supercurio to release his display expert app, hopefully it can improve things.

You may notice the curve on the NS.
MT4 looks thinner.
I got a good screen on MT4, and it doesn't have color fading or washout problem.
For fair comparison, I use same wallpaper. NS is surely a winner on this part
NS is clearly a winner on this.
Somehow I got red tint on the picture, but it actually didn't show such tint.

Do you mean the NS...?
I think both are barely the same when opening up xda.
I will upload a video to youtube to show the loading time.
Conditions:
both run on Skyfire and reloaded a few times on both.
both run on 3G and assumed both have similar reception.

Yes i mean NS
I had a rooted iphone running on t-mobile for a while, so today I went and opened a att account to try the iphone 4 for a few days. I did this because I was so disapointed in the browsing experience on the nexus s. The iphone will be going back but I am really pondering getting the mt4g which I owned for a few days before returning it because of bluetooth issues and the inability to send my contacts list to my car nav. I love the ns screen and styling but think I may go back to the mt4g since I will end up running a custom rom on whatever i choose.
Gosh that curved screen looks so sexy next to a normal flat phone.

It took me a few hours to upload merely 24MB blurry video.

Basically, the loading speed is tied between two.

Many people sure that Android 4 ICS is only a few small hardware improvements and new UI with new lockscreen. But for me it's much more than just another firmware update. I shall not enumerate the full list of updates, but I will list what specifically do I expect from this ICS firmware:
- Holo ICS interface or Apex\Trebushet\Nova launcher (source)
- Android 3.x & 4.x application compatibility (e.g. Photoshop touch, Antipaper Notes HD, DosBox Turbo (ICS for ability to use real usb\bluetooth mouse for dos game!) & etc)
- New multitasking system (source)
- Hardware acceleration (source)
- GPRS\3G data usage control (source)
- New camera capabilities and UI (source)
This is my expectations from the new ICS firmware.
Full list of Android 4.x features you'll find here.
I expect it to make ice creams.
Nice post like it
I expect that the color rendering on the Galaxy Note will be fixed with ICS, but the Gnexus has the same issue so I guess its a pipe dream.
The new camera capabilities seem exciting!

Ironic, we don't yet have a proper leak yet...

Tbh, that's not bad! It's just a shame there's no mention of other details, like how much storage there is and if it does support SDHC-cards. One can also see what looks like S-Pen, but I do not know if it's just for the looks or if it is actually functional.
I know several people who could actually use this phone just fine.
I can't even imagine how much of a headache it would be going phone shopping in China. We should all have that problem.
the samesung fauxlaxy clnotned?
Samesung, Nukia, and Motorolo.
Salute China.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the first picture in the link does NOT have an S-Pen. The third seems to show one. Either way... no thanks.
Also, the flash is different between the first picture and the third... If it's more like the third then I want that back-piece!
yes, but there are two different versions, one is 5.3 the other is 5.0

Found this gem of a feature hidden in the display options. Has this been brought up? It's pretty great!

Coming from an S5 myself, I can say this implementation from Motorola is much improved or better. I actually had it disabled on the S5 (along with everything else) as it did not work very well.
On Turbo it is picking up detection even in a very dark room and it actually re-initializes the screen if it goes dim. I'm keeping my sleep at 15-30 seconds with this feature.
My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 has this feature. Doesn't work very well at night time where the Turbo seemed to pick up my face no problem in just about pitch black conditions. Very happy with it and leave them both on as well!
@geoff5093, just realized you are like 20 minutes from me, I am from Londonderry, actually go through Goffstown just about every other weekend to play paintball in Weare... small world!

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)
