I'd like to know if this is possible too.

Set Orientation https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.eyesfree.setorientation

Pull down the notification bar and press the screen with spinning arrows icon, it will change to a padlock once it's pressed.

I have my DPI set to 160 which puts it in tablet mode, and still the lockscreen is only in portrait. I don't want an app that locks the orientation because I'm still about 50/50 on using portrait and landscape.

The Set Orientation app lets you set it to auto, the lockscreen will rotate with the tablet.

This does work. However I use widgetsoid in the notifications drawer, and with screen krien. enabled, I can't adjust brightness. Just and fyi, but figured someone else must use this combo as well. The screen orien. also makes some apps tough to use in landscape, such as songza.

if you have root, add this to your build.prop file in /system/build.prop/ and reboot.. launcher.force_enable_rotation=true

You could also flash a ROM like Paranoid Android which gives you control over what interface each app uses like phone, phablet, and tablet. This is probably not the solution you were looking for, but you did say any way to make the lock screen rotatable.

Working great, thanks. Is there a way to hide the icon in the notification bar?

Thanks for the info, but after some days I have uninstalled the app as it has been the reason for short screen-freezes every x seconds which was kind of annoying.

CM10 supports lock screen rotation.

Ultimate Rotation Control.
I use Ultimate Rotation Control. It rotates everything, including the lockscreen, & has different settings.

[Q] Puzzle Lock Screen?

Jesus man, I looked everywhere and I must have missed it. Thanks for the help.
Damn, but it still leaves the swipe lock screen.

If you want to change the lockscreen use widget locker lockscreen. It has the original 2.1 lockscreen plus you can use Widgets.

"Sweep" screen is gone forever.

Try NoLock.
NoLock removes the lock screen totally. So when you press the power button on the Vibrant... you're on your home screen, or whatever you were doing before you turned the screen off.

Use WidgetLocker. If you use it with Beautiful Widgets it makes the most awesome lockscreen ever.

Elaborate, please.
I went with GOTO, and it works great! No more stock swipe to unlock anymore. Yay!
I do it with Tasker. Keyguard disable. That way I can still have my keys locked if the phone gets turned on for some reason while I'm out & about.
I've had more fun with that app that I have the Sims3. You get a free week if you download from the site rather than Market.
On the flip side,i would like to know how to make everything that uses notifications have puzzle pieces.

Doesn't exist on mine either. PathogenX, do you have a rooted ROM? I have "NoLock", but this would reduce one additional app installed.
This is how customizable widget locker is

No I am not rooted.
I am however running Launcher Pro.

[Q] Do you think Google will rotate the home screen?

Just got my Nexus 7 today and it's awesome, except for the home screen not rotating? Do you think Google will release an update to fix it or will we have to rely on a third party app?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Third party app is the best way to go.
Download Rotation Locker its free if you want Landscape
Use Nova Launcher. Not only is it awesome, but it does home screen rotation.

Yes, it is great.
Auto-rotate wasn't enabled to begin with so I had to go to Nova Settings--Look and feel--Screen Orientation and select it (just pointing it out to save people a few seconds )
Also, the My Library widget is still usable (I'm not familiar with ICS/JB launchers, so maybe other launchers support it as well?).

Its kinda crazy that the homescreen does not rotate. Oh well, at least plenty of options to fix that with.

Rotation locker works great. allows any setup you want based on how you holding it.

No you don't have to. Just select the Forced Auto option and it rotates everything just fine. The only down side is it doesn't rotate lock screen.

Hmmph, that did not seem to work for me when I tested it last night.
I used the widget to select "auto" - is there another way to do it?
ETA: ahhhh... a long press did the trick, not a short press. Thanks!

How to get an HD Widgets widget on the lock screen of 4.2?

Hey guys, I unfortunately upgraded to 4.2 and want to get rid of that awful clock on the lock screen. From what I've heard, you can get an HD Widgets widget on the lock screen and I want to do so, but I have literally no idea as to how to do so.
Can anyone help?
On the lock screen swipe right until you see the plus sign, tap on it and the unlock your screen the option for HD widget should be there if you have it installed!

When I swipe to the right, the clock tilts, but nothing else appears (the animation is similar to when you try to swipe to a homescreen but the one you're on is the last one, so it just stops).
I have also tried to add HD Widgets to the lock screen but when I swipe all the way to the plus sign it's greyed out and I cannot do anything other than log in. Strange.
Before I installed HD Widgets, I could click the + sign and I had the option to add the clock and a few other widgets.
This baffled me for a bit too.
You have to go into HD Widgets Settings>Widget sizes and enable lockscreen.

Okay, thanks. So I've enabled lockscreen, but when I go to the lockscreen, it still won't let me swipe at all.

Already tried that myself, infact mine was already ticked for tablets, unticked for phones, so perhaps the latest version detects a tablet.
Anyway, this didn't work for me either. I can swipe to the plus sign, then that is about all I can do.

OTA update. And it solved the issue. I had the lockscreen state to disallow widgets. I'm dumb.

Enable landscape home screen rotation (Charging Dock)

I don't know if this had been posted, but if you own the Xperia Z charging dock you can enable landscape home screen rotation
turn off the phone and then dock the phone (in off mode).
After the charging icon appears, just power up the phone while its in the dock. Once the phone is powered up, just remove it from the dock and you should be able to rotate the home screen.
But, what's the point?
Sent from my C6602 using Tapatalk 2
different strokes for different folks you know...
I like to use the phone in landscape on my desk without the dock and if you're in an app that is in landscape, e.g. a movie, you don't have to flip the screen back to portrait when you have to goto the home screen.
Really smart trick

Or just use Rotation Control from the play store ...
Hi,
can you please help me finding the tool which will force ALL applications work in landscape mode? Ie when my phone is in dock and i am using phone app - it is getting back to portrait mode when placing the call.
Thanks in advance!
MCC
Is there a way to fool the phone into thinking it's docked I much prefer landscape

I can already do this permanently with an app in the drop down notification menu, I can select landscape and it'll force landscape for everything but I get a native result. Works for everything except for portrait apps, and vice versa. This works on the lockscreen too.

I've changed the dpi in build prop to 320 and auto rotate is automatically activated, I set font too large and I quite like this dpi,. Now if there was a way to make widgets bigger. Screen shots attached.

I'm talking about Screen Orientation Control on the Google Play Store.
This is what it looks like, hopefully it works.
Not sure what happened to the screen resolution is it some random imgur compression thing?
Thanks for the link for the app. Now I can control the orientation whenever I just want it to change.

Hey people,
I think you guys might be interested in the app called "Rotation Anywhere".
This is exactly the app all of you above are looking for.
And the best part "it's free". !!! :good:

Whats up with the widget box to the left on the lock screen?

Does anyone know if that white widget box to the left of the clock on the lock screen is normal? I've never seen it before. Lastly, is it removable?

I think the question is why does the area show up highlighted for an instant when there is no widget to display? It's especially noticeable in landscape orientation.

If you don't touch fairly close to the unlock symbol when you first start up from screen-off mode, the lock screen will let you swipe to another (perhaps not yet set) lock screen. That's what you're seeing. My problem is that I can't remember how to set up the secondary screen LOL!
Edit: Just swipe to the +, tap and add the widget. Too simple!
