Its android 2.2, and it's made in China, apple has no patents in china so they can't do **** about it, its not sold in the US you have to order from overseas so apple is stuck with their thumb up their collective ass on that one.

I don't think this is because they are scare from htc. It's more for counter fake iPhone and low cost Samsung, LG, Nokia, Lenovo, HTC and many other local manufacturer that start to have a big part of market shares in south east Asia.

Probably because Apple doesn't see it as a "threat" to them the same way as they see other Android manufacturers.

Apple is sitting on an enormous pile of cash, so they've decided to see how many other manufacturer's phones they can knock off of mainstream store shelves. They're not worried about an obscure phone from China that isn't going to sell anywhere near as many units by comparison.

Yeah. Apple seems to be pretty concerned with all of the major Android phone manufacturers.

Apples just mad they have to steal all of their "innovations" from android and then use a big broad brush stroke to snag some generic patent they can use to claim they invented something that's been around longer than the iPhoney

Yeah, Apple was also awarded a bunch of UI patents yesterday...

This is freaking awesome. This ruling may lead to similar rulings in all other patent cases for the galaxy tabs.
Me thinks that the courts are getting sick of Apple's BS patent lawsuits.

How do you patent an design... its stupid. If apple can pattent UI designs, music artists should be able to pattent certain drum rhythms/auto-tuning.
The patent/law suit garbage is really getting old.

Apple are charging an extra 100 bucks to have a stupid mainstream Apple on the back of the device. Why would i by an iPhone 4 when i could spend my money and buy an Android device with a quadcore and still have Money left to go out and get pi ssed for the month.
Android all the way. And every iPhone user just has it because of the supposed status of the device. Well I say screw that ill keep my android devices any day of the week over a stupid iPhone that only has 12 months of support

Apple really doesn't realize that a lot of Android users will not switch to Apple, even if the iPhone is the last smartphone on earth. I'd happily go back to a basic flip phone even if someone offered to pay me to take an iPhone
(I didn't say I'd refuse the offer - I'd use the money to buy a phone that I wouldn't hate myself for using, and the iPhone would be an ugly coaster/doorstop/replacement clay pigeon...)

Forget that I would use an iPhone now if it has a bigger screen but it there were no other is then blackberry and iOS the iPhone here I come. I could never revert to basic feature phone or that very complex (in a bad way) Blackberry.

I don't see why companys have to play dirty like this--it won't gain them much marketshare in reality. SGS II is just a better phone than iPhone, and Apple needs to understand that people will be upset if they're the ones responsible for it being removed from the market. Just my $.02

I hope Tim Cook and his lawyer cronies get a shoe to the face in public. Even though the Epic 4G is several generations old it's still better and has more features such as 4G, >3.5", AMOLED, micro SD card slot, removable battery, slide out keyboard, etc. than the latest iPhone 4S. Only the iPhone5 will be catching up to it.
