My nook has been stuck on the cyanoboot bootloader for quite some time. I've tried playing with the menu options, wiping data, flashing a new rom entirely. All to no avail. The number in the top left of the screen stays at E 0 (if that helps anyone). Does anyone know of a solution? I would think that I'd just have to flash a normal bootloader. If so, does anyone know where I can find a file? All help appreciated.
Edit: Did not notice post with similar question. This thread should be deleted.

The E in the E0 means that it is booting from the emmc bootloader rather than an SD bootloader. And the 0 means it has no failed boots since the last time it booted. Look in my tips thread linked in my signature for ideas how to fix your problem.
Thank you. It was a recovery flag problem. It's been solved.

Getting a screen saying PwrReason: PWR_KEY_PRESS
Unlocked, was running Cyanogen7, wanted to go back to PiCrust. Was wiping battery stats, it took me out of the menu. I accidently went into some other menu and it formatted the phone... Partitioning or something?
Would like to get back to a working phone... I can get into RSD protocol, Fastboot. Recovery spits out an error.
Getting myself the fastboot/RSDLite/drivers again...
Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated...
1) Download CWM, either ROM Manager one (http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-olympus.img) or the romracer one on XDA, either will work
2) Download a ROM
3) boot in fastboot, fastboot flash recovery [the recovery you downloaded]
4) boot in recovery, wipe data and flash a ROM
w00t. almost my plan. I don't have an external card. So already got romracer flashed, but, i think, i'll have to fastboot the 4.5.91 stock rom....so it can format and setup my internal SD card. Then go to picrust. Shame I lost my Pi and Cy7 backups....
edit:
Whew. I thought i had lost everything on the internal sdcard. Once i got romracers cWM back on. and after it failed to flash 4.5.91, i looked around in CWM and was able to see my internal SDCard. Restored my Cy7 for now. My touchscreen was off, but I had backed up my PDS partition a long time ago, flashed that and it was working again.
Now the only "problem" is, on boot, I dont get the Motorola Logo. I instead get a command line style interface. It autoboots to OS in 5s, unless I pick something from the list (RSD,Fastboot, etcetc) Not a HUGE deal, but I hate seeing POSTs on my PCs, so I'd like to get that logo back..or if possible a custom logo?? Any ideas on that?
I have exactly the same problem, could you repair it?? I need to take my phone to de RMA and I have this, I dont know what to do. If you ydgmms or somebody else could give me some help it would be great.
Edit:I could just have installed a recovery but still getting the black screen with the letters.
I leave a screenshot.

big ol' noob here. i just flashed the Jelly-Bean_4.1.2_CM10-FLEX_v6supercharged_Aroma rom on my a500 which previously had lightspeed 4.8 on it. now when it boots it shows the android guy with gears for a second then just a blank black screen. the backlight is on so you can tell the tablet is still on. i can still get into recovery with no issues though("aman ra-iconia-3.17-ics" via "scrilax_CZ bootloader v8") i dont know what it could be though. installation of rom gave no errors. so please, I ask for assistance in resolving the issue. i was looking into (and learning about) fastboot fixes but i'm not sure if it applies to me nor have i tried it before. any help in fixing the darn thing would be much appreciated.

You should change the title to "Stuck in APX Mode". Refine your search. I've never had the issue, however, I believe 1 or more partitions are messed up. Which means you will probably have to revert back using TimmyDeans V4 rollback tool at the worst.
Just a guess. But search the forum for those terms. You should be able to find some threads as I've seen several references to being stuck in APX mode.
One place you may want to post your issue, is Skrilax_CZ's bootloader thread. He may know some fastboot commands to wipe the data.

cool. I'll do that. thanks man. I'm still learning the lingo so that sheds a bit of light for me and gives me some direction to start. thanks again.

Also remember, before you install a different rom, you must; in CWM
1. Wipe User Data/Factory Reset
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik
Then go to Mounts and Storage and;
1. Format System
2. Format Flexrom
Then you can install the rom. If you haven't done this, you should try again.

Try the wipe commands suggested in post #4 and then reflash your JB ROM. A lot of time it helps with reflash the ROM after wipes.
thanks for the tips. i believe i've actually performed them like you guys told me but it seems i've made it worse. my ridiculousness is currently going on in this thread here
I'm having the same issue with this ROM. I'm using the same recovery you are.
if you have any progress let me know cause i'm still stuck in apx land...
final update
Back to stock HC 3.2.1 right now. my issue ended up being unable to format the /data directory causing all my newly flashed roms to not load properly. per JdgM3NT4L's guidance i used the tutorial and tools here which took me back to a working status. now my only problem lies with what delicious rom should i have next? an ICS or a jellybean? if any XDA tutorials or assistance help bring you tablet back, make sure to click those ":good: thanks" buttons guys.
Hi All,
Thought I'd just quickly share this out here and wonder if anyone else has come across this and can either help or point in a right direction...
Basically we received a Nexus 4 brand new from our carrier in Norway. Upon starting it up we got no signal from the SIM card and in the about status we had "Baseband: Unknown, IMEI: Unknown, IMEI SV: Unknown" and that was that. Completely dead phone.
After reading the threads here and elsewhere we tried the usual tactics (flashing stock ROM, flashing stock 4.2.1 ROM) and still nothing.
It was at this point I saw a thread which involved erasing the cache. I thought I would do this through recovery but upon trying to boot into recovery all I got was the Android with red exclamation mark belly. From the stock ROM.
I proceeded to flash CWM-touch which flashed ok and went into recovery OK. Upon booting into the phone, the issue was resolved and we now have the radio working.
So a few questions are:
1. Why won't our phone boot into the stock recovery mode? Ideas?
2. Why would flashing a new recovery affect the radio functionality?
3. Anyone else seeing the recovery not booting issue?
But anyway, if someone comes across the IMEI unknown issue, try unlocking and flashing the CWM recovery to see if that fixes it.
Thanks,
Stoobert
Might need to find a baseband image and flash that to see if it works. If not, then the radio may be a dud. I'd say request an RMA or return the device, if thats possible.
We are looking at an RMA.
It just seems weird that the radio works fine if using a custom recovery and not the stock one in the 4.2 image.

Um... I think that might actually be normal. I don't have Nexus 4 but on the GNex, you need to press power+volume up when seeing red triangle. See this: http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=51446#alternate
I guess you need to press the same or similiar key combination.
I don't see why flashing a recovery will fix IMEI problem, but sure worth trying.
I'm having the same problem but I didnt do any flashing or modding at all. Bought it, put a sim in it and it worked for 6 hours. Then I remember accidentally dropping it a few times but not sure if that was what caused it. No IMEI no baseband. I tried to do as above but it won't proceed from recovery mode. Never gives me an option panel and just blacks out after I press volume up and power buttons when I see the lying android and red exclaimation sign.
The folks at whirlpool said people here might be able to help
I followed as the instructions but I noticed on the "recovery" screen their last item is lock state "unlocked" but mine is "locked" does that make a difference?
I did nothing to the new phone save install lookout, tripview lite, tumblr, accuweather, farmtower, JA sensei, adobe reader, JED and whatsapp.
Please help?
Thanks in advance,
Yannie
I was playing around with the *#*#4636#*#* testing screen and I was switching the IMS registration, required, SMS over IMS and lye ram dump on and off at random and I manage to get the IMEI and baseband back again. So I turned off the phone and put my sim in but I lost it again after the restart. I don't remember what exactly I did to bring the values back so I guess I'll keep playing with it with my sim in...
Yea u need to hold power and volume up to access stock recovery.

I do not know if I'm in the right place.
I bought a Nexus 4 in the U.S.. And the sign here in Brazil is very weak. You get what for Radio Operators in Brazil?

Okay so today my Nexus 4 got problem updating to TWRP 2.6.1.0 so I went to CWM and then using fastboot flashed TWRP. After this I did factory reset and BAM. No Cell reception, no IMEI, nothing. I dont get how is it possible that factory reset from TWRP erased/messed up radio but restoring nandroid fixed my situation.
Right now I am trying the factory reset again to see what happens...Always backup guys!

I have tried above steps and not only that tried every steps mentioned in this post. Still my radio signal is not coming. Can you please suggest me exact problem for this issue as well as solution. I am not sure why this is happening. And all this started when I do OTA update of 4.3 .
Can anybody suggest me the stable build and baseband image of 4.2 so that my phone will work normally. Or it is not going to get normal ?
fix unknown baseband
flash to older cwm n reflash ur rom n radio .... it fix due to SELinux
This is correct. I was experiencing this error while attempting to install Paranoid Android myself. The solution was to download this version of CWM and flash it. (fastboot flash recovery <filename>)
http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-mako.img
Afterwards, I proceeded to reset the process. (Factory reset/wipe, Install Bootloader/Radio zips, Install ROM, Install GAPPS) and everything worked perfectly.
Perhaps all the steps were not needed, I am not sure which are. But I did them all just to be sure.

Dear Member...

Today Android 4.4.3 was released, will mako's baseband reappear?
Android 4.4.4 will fix our baseband???
Hey, I know this forum isn't too active but I really need help.
I wiped CyanogenMod from TWRP, and I believe that I also wiped CWM in doing so. If I turn my phone on, the Motorola Logo shows up. I can access Bootloader and the stock recovery though.
Can anyone help me?
You do not provide enough information to assist you.
I'm just a newby but posted this a few moments ago:- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73404265&postcount=9
If you know/can figure out what stock you were on originally, and also what you have since flashed, then you can possibly recover your defy. (may need to create a fixed sbf file, ie minus CG 31 and CG 39).
Take a gander at above linked post, it may give you a few clues.
EDIT: Suggest first try Hard Factory reset, and wipe cache via Motorola system Recovery.
(as done in above link, I just recovered from boot loop whilst writing that post)
First time it was bootlooped of death December 14th 2017, i followed squabbi's post https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guide-tutorial-nexus-6p-bootloop-death-t3716330 and i fixed it and then in march it bootlooped again. I tried the fix again, nothing. I tried to get in the 808 mode or in Emergency mode, nothing. Tried the custom bootloader, not working. Tried turning off/on the bootloader still nothing. Any help please!
I am having similar issues as well. In my post here I go through the steps I have taken up to this point. Most of the methods listed are from other members here on XDA trying to fix the boot loop.
Currently, I am unable to get past the issue myself but maybe you will have more luck. Try to give some more information though about your situation and others will be able to help you better. How far does boot get? Can you load fastboot? Have you tried a factory reset? Is your bootloader locked/unlocked?
This information will help others help you, good luck to us both man!
