I'm experiencing a slight rattle when I shake my phone. The sound is coming from the volume buttons. Is this normal? Anyone else having the same thing? The volume button seems slightly loose.

This happens on my AT&T GS3 (SGH-i747) as well.
happens to my phone also(doesn't make noise tough just wiggles), not going to return it. also if you get a case that covers the phone you (probably) won't notice it in the future
for me its not the volume but power button, it wiggles but doesnt make noise

same.
That will be the Volume rocker or the power/lock button, but probably the Volume rocker. There is a little bit of give in the handset which I have been told is normal.

Not sure if this is a problem with my device or all - the top volume button seems to give more of a clicking sound than the bottom.
I know this isn't a major problem, I think I'm just OCD

Mine also had a slightly weaker down click, your not alone!
My i9000 is an early model so its pretty old. The volume button rattles and is loose. If I touch it, it rattles or the cover of the actual button moves. If I shake my phone or move it or if it vibrates I hear the rattle of the button. Is it normal? Is it anything to worry about ? Sorry if its a stupid question

you can check it, internally by using a guide from My Android Collections about dismantling or the technician service manual
Just got my nexus 4 today. Love it except for the very creaky volume buttons. The slightest touch makes it creak a lot, whether I'm pressing up, down, or even just resting my finger on it. Makes the phone feel cheap over all. Anybody else? Should I try to exchange it?
Edit...just realized its the power button too. Bummer.

Sometimes when tapping the screen, I'll get a very feint click or tap noise that sounds like it comes from the screen. Like its a physical sound not coming from the speaker which is turned all the way down. Anybody else get this? I searched but I couldnt find anything.

try using some pressure at the bot of the Nexus. Most people have this issue with the body itself. It may appear if u hit the lcd, but it is possible that it is caused by another finger holding the phone at the bot of the body

could be some glue or adhesive from the screen/digitizer coming loose. Also could be the speaker anyway, because if it's turned down it doesn't seem to matter. Some are reported to make static/clicky sounds regardless of being muted or not.
