Hi,
For some reason whenever the vibrator on my wildfire does anything it sometomes makes a ratteling noise. What can I do to stop it ratteling?

same.
That will be the Volume rocker or the power/lock button, but probably the Volume rocker. There is a little bit of give in the handset which I have been told is normal.

Hello everyone,
Was hoping someone could explain what the button combination "Volume Up + Power" actually does..??
I tried it just a few moments ago and the only thing that happened was it vibrated, nothing showed up on the screen (as if it were off), and the LED (orange) kept blinking. No buttons worked, so had to pull the battery.
Before doing that, I decided to attach the phone to my computer via USB. It asks for drivers. Which drivers though? I already have all the drivers installed for my phone...
Anyway, the main question here is..what is this mysterious mode the phone goes into when powering on the device using volume UP??
Just curious =P
What ROM are you running?

I'm running [KANG]CM 7.2.RC0.
The latest one.
I didn't think the ROMs had anything to do with the power and volume combinations when starting up the phone.
...did I forget to mention that in my original post? Basically, my phone is not on when I'm trying the button combos..

youve gotta hold volume down + power button to access fastboot. volume up + power button only works for the stock recovery
Ooooh. I thought this was in ROM. You meant while powered off. Ok. Sorry.

Well I know about volume down + power
I was just curious about what the volume up combo did. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
@estallings15,
it was actually my fault for not being clear enough in my original post. My bad.
I was experimenting to see what each button combo with the power button did while the phone was off..

Ha. No worries. I usually edit a post several times when asking a question because I leave out info. Easy to forget things!

I'm experiencing a slight rattle when I shake my phone. The sound is coming from the volume buttons. Is this normal? Anyone else having the same thing? The volume button seems slightly loose.

This happens on my AT&T GS3 (SGH-i747) as well.
happens to my phone also(doesn't make noise tough just wiggles), not going to return it. also if you get a case that covers the phone you (probably) won't notice it in the future
for me its not the volume but power button, it wiggles but doesnt make noise
Not sure if this is a problem with my device or all - the top volume button seems to give more of a clicking sound than the bottom.
I know this isn't a major problem, I think I'm just OCD

Mine also had a slightly weaker down click, your not alone!
My i9000 is an early model so its pretty old. The volume button rattles and is loose. If I touch it, it rattles or the cover of the actual button moves. If I shake my phone or move it or if it vibrates I hear the rattle of the button. Is it normal? Is it anything to worry about ? Sorry if its a stupid question

you can check it, internally by using a guide from My Android Collections about dismantling or the technician service manual
Hello everyone,
Today I notice something very strange about the volume button. When I press on it, it just seem to be not fixed on its slot. It is not very tight, it is like the metalic button will fall out because I and move it from left to right horizontaly.
Can you test yours so that I can confirm that everyone phone has the same or it is a build quality of the mine.
Thank you for your help.
I'm not having that issue. My volume button seems just in place and tight enough

No problem here, we have two S4's one White and one Black. Both have nice sturdy volume buttons. Only the White one has a slight loose power button. But all is working without a problem.
