I've never owned an Android device before so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm buying a Nexus 7 and am wondering if ScummVM works well on the Nexus 7?
And also Adventure Game Studio, there's an android port, but I'm not sure if it will work on the Nexus 7.
I can't post the link to the Android build as I'm a new user, can google "AGS engine Android port"
Thanks guys
Doesn't seem to work on mine at the moment.

Scummvm runs great. At least with lucasarts games. The mouse tracking is odd at first but you can actually change it to a click-point interface in the midi options

edit: got it working. Scummvm works great on Nexus7!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but for me ScummVM just opens and gives me a black screen. Tried putting compatible ROMs where I think they should be but no luck. I'm rooted using the Wugfresh toolkit but other than that I've done nothing to the stock ROM. Any suggestions?

Just tried deleting the app cache for ScummVM. Seemed to do the trick. Launches fine now and tested with Beneath a Steel Sky.

Has anyone else run super gnes on their 7?
I can't seem to access any of the settings without a force close. Maybe its an issue with 4.1? Thanks for the input!

Is yours actually working now? Mine continues to just crash to the home screen without any errors, no matter what game I try to load. I've uninstalled/reinstalled with no change.
Sent an email to the dev with logcat, waiting to hear back. It continues to work fine on my phone (LG Optimus One P500, CM9), but it's kinda hard to play anything on a 3.2" screen once you've been spoiled by the 7" gloriousness that is the Nexus.
Do you guys hook up controllers to play? I've been playing some contra with nesoid but having some difficulty getting used to the touch screen dpad
I use an iControlpad. http://www.icontrolpad.com/ It was expensive but works great and has a thin profile so it sits in my bag nice. The phone clamp is removable.
I've been using sixaxis with my nexus 7 for all sorts of emulation and gaming purposes. I'd highly recommend it, especially if you own a PlayStation 3 already! It has run well on my 7 and my nexus s since the update in the topic post. I even got to play through Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity on it! Good times.

But the phone clamp fits on Nexus 7? I want a hands free solution to nN7 becomes a portable, it would be great.
Just wondering if anyone uses the Nexus media importer app? Apparently its the only way to expand storage via USB otg without root? My laptop recently died and all the other computers in my household are all macs -__- and I wouldn't even try rooting my n7 on a Mac lol. So until I get around to rooting it just wanted someone's opinion on the app and if its worth it

I haven't used it, but from what I've heard it's like StickMount, but doesn't have an actual file explorer like StickMount, so it's a pain to use.

I haven't used the Nexus Media Importer app, but I have a Mac and I rooted my N7 through Boot camp with Windows 7. You may or may not have a copy of Windows laying around, but everything worked fine for me. Sorry that I don't have any experience with the Nexus Media Importer app.

Yeah I'm not too good at using Macs lol. My laptop had windows 7 ultimate but now it's dead :'( well I decided to purchase it anyway, once I get the chance I'll try it out and review it

Well I gave the app a minor test run and it works pretty well! Now I need to order a bigger flash drive, and test some of the file formats to see what is compatible

That's great! I'm glad you were able to find a solution.

The app works great for me. The developer is actually a poster here, he has a thread over in the themes and apps section. He responds really great to people posting with questions or problems.
Definitely worth the $1.99. I've had no problem streaming movies, pictures, and PDF docs.

Is the Nexus 7 compatible with Gameboid?
I know the app hasn't been updated in quite sometime so I'd like to know if it runs well or if there is another gba emulator I should look for.
GBA.emu works great on my Nexus 7. It does cost a few bucks though
Will try out, thanks.
I find that it works great on mine. I use my phone as the controller as well

Gameboid works fine. Might as well use it since it's free anyway.

Finally got around to trying jut Gameboid before looking at gba.emu and it works perfectly.
I had problems running it with the galaxy nexus and was expecting the same thing with the 7 but I'm glad I was wrong.
Thanks.
HBO GO says it is incompatible with this device, is there an easy fix for this?
I'm rooted so cant I change my deviceID to one that is compatible, I just cant remember the file I need to edit to do this

Pull the APK from another device. I've tried it and it gets stuck on "buffering" every time. Same problem on my Nexus 4. They need to update their API's.

same experience here. pulled from my gs4 using tbp, stuck on buffering for all video.
Does hbo go stream at 1080p? I know it doesn't with my HTC one

4.3 issue my old n7 quit working with hbo go right after I upgraded
Fingers Crossed
I really hope they get this fixed and updated fast, I feel it has been too long already. Showtime is available and works on the Nexus 7 (2013)!

I updated my Nexus 6P to the preview yesterday, and so far it's running very well. I was wondering if anybody had done it on their nexus player? I mainly use it for kodi.
Thanks!
Yes, seems good, instal by OTA
Made a lot of my apps not work.
Show box
Popcorn
Stuff like that are useless
Emulators too
