Im pretty sure you have to use ODIN to flash the update labeled kies, there used to be a way to force kies to use the downloaded firmware however kies has been updated so it may not work, id suggest google or looking around on XDA for a bit more help

Has anyone done this successfully with odin? Thanks

Thanks for the files, the Kies one is 1 GB and the OTA is 200 MB, dumb question as I just woke up but what's the difference between both? I have a stock P5113 I'm thinking of simply rooting and I would like a stock rom to flash back to the state it was in out of the box, which of the 2 files do I want and what are the differences, thanks and sorry if it's a silly question.
PS: is this the P5113UEBLG5 version from july? I'd assume so according to the date of the post I'm actually in need of P5113UEBLH3

help
Hi there,
The download links don't work anymore. Any chance OP has the file?
I realize this is quite an old thread, but I'm trying to give life to an old tablet, and this seems to be my last hope. I've tried almost every kernel and rom I can find. I got one ICS to work, but then WiFi wasn't working... And no one had a solution. Then I found an JB combo that I got to work, but it was just too slow. So that's why I wanted to stick with ICS.
If anyone has the files, it would be greatly appreciated if you can post a download link.
Thanks!

Wow. It sucks that stuff was broken in the first place but you've got to give Samsung credit for staying on top of it and turning these releases around. I'm glad I won't have my phone until tomorrow. I'll be able to skip some of the gymnastics. I really hope this one nails the battery issues.

If you have XWKE1, you have the latest baseband. But this update will still give you a PDA update.
Kies only release them as a package, that's why you have to apply it all, even though you only need the PDA update.
Yes, it is unlocked UK version.
If you have Korean or O2 versions, please check your Kies for updates, do not use these files.

Go to samfirmware and download INDIAN 2.2 Froyo I9000DDJP6, its a single file, so no need of pit or anything, just flash it with that single file and connect to kies.

I think spoofing the current fw to ddjp6 should also work.
I havent tried the spoofing method myself beacuse I will be flashing directly with the 2.3.3 indian version using odin.
If anyone is trying spoofing method, please let us know how you did it.
1. battery issue present in this ROM too ?
2. Hindi fonts ?

[I9000T] Looking for files to root UBJP9 2.2.1

Hi Guys,
I am a novice when it comes to android. I want to root my SGS I9000T and I looked around a lot, but my problem is it seems like it is firmware specific and mine seems to be quire rare.
So here is my firmware specs. If somebody has either the stock files for this version or the files needed to root this version, please provide me of the link. And yes I did look on the samfirmware but it is not there. Or maybe there is a way to root that is not firmware specific?
Any help would be helpful
There is nothing firmware specific about rooting. Just flash speedmod k13e (not k15i thats GB kernel), then boot into recovery and root from the advanced speedmod option. Afterwards you can flash the stock kernel back if you want (It´s the zImage file from your install files) You use a tool called Odin to flash, many tutorials around on how to use it...
Thanks for the reply. I have a question for you: When you flash speedmod do you actually change your firmware? If so, that would be a problem because I cannot find my stock firmware? I am trying to root to be able to nandroid to actually get the firmware.

I already posted the I9000TUBJP9 rom on the other thread it's the official kies download , let me clarify this,if you upgrade to oficial I9000TUBJVE gb you can go back directly to UBJP9 froyo because have the same bootloaders ,but if you flash other rom than the official for the I9000T go back to the stock eclair or gingerbread

No, you change the kernel. You should also be able to root with SuperOneClick, search for it in the forums, you dont have to replace the kernel with this method.

Thanks so much! I am guessing you mistypes, but my current version is I9000TUBJP9 (and this is what the file you gave me says) and the version of GB I will be getting through Kies is UBJV6 (not BJVE), right?
So, if I update to GB and want to go back to UBJP9, all I have to do is flash the only tar file extracted from the files you gave me? The flashing methods I read were talking about pit file, pda files and repartion files. I don't need any of that?

Thanks a lot for the help. I read up about superoneclick and it should work if I decide to stay on Froyo but won't work if I make the jump to GB. I will try to see if the CF method or the oneclick method work for GB. I am assuming I will find a method that will root GB. I did read a little about the supermod you mentioned to me, but I got confused because I found guide to flash it but they said I needed to be rooted .

Well if what you wanted was to move to GB then why the heck didn't you just say that from the beginning and spared us all this useless talk of rooting your phone?? If you dont have a clue about how to do something then its best to say what you want from the get go.
In this case just download whatever firmware you want and flash with Odin, no need to be rooted. Make sure to flash a 850 modem afterwards to get 3G back if you flash a european rom. Check the stickies, plenty of guides on how to flash with Odin and threads with modem files.
Good luck mate.

You can go back and forth with Froyo and GB on Odin with ease. I've done it plenty of times, just make sure that you have repartition checked with the stock files correctly placed in Odin...

Well no need to be nasty! I was pondering if I am going to GB since the first time I did it did not go well, so I am weighing my options. I appreciate that you help me and but I do not appreciate the condescending talk. Everything you guys told me was very useful and I do want to root I was taking one thing at a time.
I read the forum( yes I did) and I have decided that it might be best for me to stay on Froyo for now. and I am planing to root to be able to try other stuff. So again yes you helped me and no it was not useless talk. Thanks again.

Where can I find Honeycomb 3.2 for P7510 XWKL1 CSC:ITV?

I have a P7510 wifi with Honeycomb 3.2 from Italy with CSC ITV.
In Italy there is no ICS at this moment for my tab so I would like to flash ICS from another region.
Before doing this, I would like to have my original rom XWKL1 CSC ITV but I can't find it anywhere, there isn't also in Samobile. Anyone can tell me where I can find this rom?
I can't use CWM recovery to backup my original rom becouse I use Sky Go, and now Sky Go don't work anymore with tablet modded.
Thanks
Can't help you with your search, but I can help you not confuse people

I got my stock firmware from sammobile website. Your might also be there. You have to register to get the links.
EDIT- Sorry, missed the part where you said you could not find it there. You could use CWM to make a backup of your ROM, but I'm not sure if your Kernel will also change when you upgrade. I have the p7500 and loaded the ICS update for Italy onto mine.
Good luck in finding that. You could ask for it on Sammobile. They have a link where you can request firmwares if yours is not thers.

Hi, silly question. Is this the last official update that just been released?
Enviado desde mi GT-N7000 usando Tapatalk 2
Hello, I am downloading the new "official" update right now. I have a number of questions before I attempt to apply/install it. Thanks for any responses:
(a) Does this "fix" the brick bug issue or is a custom kernel still required?
(b) Does this "fix" the recently announced security flaw?
(c) Is there some way, other than with Kies, to install the download (like Odin) - the file was said on SamMobile to be a Kies file? I currently don't have anything but the Kies USB drivers installed and really don't need Kies itself for anything else. If there is another way, please post a procedure.
(d) My device is rooted and currently running HydraCore 4.3b (overclocked). So:
a) Do I have to unroot and otherwise return to stock 4.0.4 before installing this?
b) How do I re-root after install? And install backup/recovery?
c) I read that HydraCore does not support JB. Is there a good alternative? Is this even needed now (I originally installed HydraCore to avoid the brick bug but find it very nice in most ways)?
d) Does this "fix" the touchkey backlight bug?
e) Will installing this do anything to my installed apps and their data? If so, what steps to best recover that?
Thanks for your help before I step into this.

Try to upgrade with odin, the most that can happen is that you start the phone and you would have to enter the recovery to clear the cache and start your phone clean.
