Hi Guys,
I am a novice when it comes to android. I want to root my SGS I9000T and I looked around a lot, but my problem is it seems like it is firmware specific and mine seems to be quire rare.
So here is my firmware specs. If somebody has either the stock files for this version or the files needed to root this version, please provide me of the link. And yes I did look on the samfirmware but it is not there. Or maybe there is a way to root that is not firmware specific?
Any help would be helpful
There is nothing firmware specific about rooting. Just flash speedmod k13e (not k15i thats GB kernel), then boot into recovery and root from the advanced speedmod option. Afterwards you can flash the stock kernel back if you want (It´s the zImage file from your install files) You use a tool called Odin to flash, many tutorials around on how to use it...
Thanks for the reply. I have a question for you: When you flash speedmod do you actually change your firmware? If so, that would be a problem because I cannot find my stock firmware? I am trying to root to be able to nandroid to actually get the firmware.

I already posted the I9000TUBJP9 rom on the other thread it's the official kies download , let me clarify this,if you upgrade to oficial I9000TUBJVE gb you can go back directly to UBJP9 froyo because have the same bootloaders ,but if you flash other rom than the official for the I9000T go back to the stock eclair or gingerbread

No, you change the kernel. You should also be able to root with SuperOneClick, search for it in the forums, you dont have to replace the kernel with this method.

Thanks so much! I am guessing you mistypes, but my current version is I9000TUBJP9 (and this is what the file you gave me says) and the version of GB I will be getting through Kies is UBJV6 (not BJVE), right?
So, if I update to GB and want to go back to UBJP9, all I have to do is flash the only tar file extracted from the files you gave me? The flashing methods I read were talking about pit file, pda files and repartion files. I don't need any of that?

Thanks a lot for the help. I read up about superoneclick and it should work if I decide to stay on Froyo but won't work if I make the jump to GB. I will try to see if the CF method or the oneclick method work for GB. I am assuming I will find a method that will root GB. I did read a little about the supermod you mentioned to me, but I got confused because I found guide to flash it but they said I needed to be rooted .

Well if what you wanted was to move to GB then why the heck didn't you just say that from the beginning and spared us all this useless talk of rooting your phone?? If you dont have a clue about how to do something then its best to say what you want from the get go.
In this case just download whatever firmware you want and flash with Odin, no need to be rooted. Make sure to flash a 850 modem afterwards to get 3G back if you flash a european rom. Check the stickies, plenty of guides on how to flash with Odin and threads with modem files.
Good luck mate.

You can go back and forth with Froyo and GB on Odin with ease. I've done it plenty of times, just make sure that you have repartition checked with the stock files correctly placed in Odin...

Well no need to be nasty! I was pondering if I am going to GB since the first time I did it did not go well, so I am weighing my options. I appreciate that you help me and but I do not appreciate the condescending talk. Everything you guys told me was very useful and I do want to root I was taking one thing at a time.
I read the forum( yes I did) and I have decided that it might be best for me to stay on Froyo for now. and I am planing to root to be able to try other stuff. So again yes you helped me and no it was not useless talk. Thanks again.

Guys, I need help here, I was checking a "return to stock firmware" guide to make sure I can return to my stock JPF before trying Darky's ROM.
I downloaded my JPF ROM (Arabic) from several sources and it only contains the ROM and the modem, no CSC file, and as I understand I will need this file when flashing the stock firmware again, but I searched everywhere and I can't find it.
Please tell me what to do.
You can find a CWM Flashable .zip file of JPF CSC in my ROM Thread, ADDONS SECTION!
Simple and fast!
Sent from my SGS with Simply™ 2.7 Xtreme ROM
Thanks Simon, I have downloaded it, so the installation instructions are:
- Go to recovery make a backup
- Flash the CSC
- Reboot into recovery again and restore backup
Is this correct? Would you know by any chance where could I get the file that I can flash through ODIN when I am restoring the ROM?

You could just use darkys OdIN Rom, there is no need to flash back to original fw, no-one has stock fw on his sgs, even a girl I know has JPY

I need to be able to get back to my stock ROM in case I face any issues with Darky's ROM because it works without a hitch, has good battery life and more importantly it has Arabic interface and Arabic Swype keyboards.
And by the way, the girl comment is not really smart. :/

CSC use rom kitchin and generate update.zip with csc in it .
http://romkitchen.org/sgs/?s=generator
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
You might as well then build your own rom through the rom kitchin and flash that after backing up your old one .

Glad that I could help, good luck
So i want to return my phone to stock so i can try to install The newest ROM from darky,
My problem is that i cant get into recovery mode cause my screen gets all fuzzy with white and colored lines, i believe its because of my bootloader but i cant update cause it gets stuck at SBL.bin so im pretty much stuck in limbo here.
Maybe if i get my phone back to stock i can do everything over again.
what information do i need to know so i can download the proper files?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe try flashing a stock low level (with bootloaders) rom via odin so that the bootloaders are replaced. And use the latest odin, I think it's 1.82 now, that should reduce your problems flashing.
is all the data lost by returning to stock (is there a way to do it without formatting )

this is what i know about my phone
PDA. I9000XWJVH
PHONE: I9000XXJVO
CSSC: I9000XXEEJV3
MODEL NUMBER: GT-I9000
FIRMWARE VERSION: 2.3.3.
BASEBAND VERSION: I9000XXJVO
what else do i need to know ?
Your best bet is to do a bit of reading around just so you know what you're trying to do.
[Ramad]'s thread of stock firmwares is probably the most helpful to you. It's got loads of stock firmware and some detailed instructions, as well as downloads for odin and all the necessary files.
If you're going to flash bootloaders you need a file from this thread that has "sbl" in the filename. From the info you've posted you're PDA is XWJVH, your modem (PHONE) is XXJVO and your CSC is XEEJV3. If you want to keep this setup just find the right download with the bootloaders and you should be good to go. Of course you can always flash another ROM if you'd rather. If you're going for a clean flash also flash with a pit file and repartition checked. All the gingerbread so far use 512.pit but you can always check on samfirmware too.
Also below are a couple of links to general guides (which are stickies in the "Galaxy S I9000 General" section. They've just got a load of useful information for all kinds of things:

im gonna give it a try!
hello. i know there are other topics with this subject, but my question is:
when i odin back to stock why do i see first the samsung i9000 screen and then the vibrant one?
how can i fix this?
originally i would see only the vibrant screen then talking logo and then setup wizard.
thank you.
you flash a i9000 rom before?
try getting your tar file from another source
can you elaborate?
sure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
so it's just a problem with my stock tar file? because i used the same one another time and all was good.
i was on biffmod, gingerzen - GB roms ...
think its bc of gingerbread bootloaders. someone come confirm or correct this for me please
Yes, you should use a different tar, the modified GB stock tar if you want to flash back and remove i9000 bootlogo, search file:
GBBOOT-T959UVJFD.tar
Cheers!

done it with odin and flashing "Vibrant_GB.tar.md5" in pda.
Hey . I'm trying to update the modem & bootloader for my phone. However, I don't know where the modem is. I have 3 files. I suspect the BL_N9005XXUGBPB2_BOOTLOADER.tar goes into BL?
And then AP_N9005XXUGBPB2_RECOVERY.tar and AP_N9005XXUGBPB2_KERNEL.tar.md5 go into AP? Is one of these the modem driver?
In what order should I do this? Especially the 2 AP files... I'm confused about those .
I would like to also mention that my device is currently rooted, uses TWRP. I want to update to a newer TWRP and then from Android 4.4 to Android 5. I suspect that flashing a new recovery and a new kernel will mean that I also have to do that once I've updated my device's modem.
Thank you in advance!
If you download a stock ROM from Sam mobile.com, unzip it to get a tar.md5 file which is flashed in the PDA slot of Odin 3.07. This method takes the guess work out of trying to figure out what goes where.
Uh, I don't really get it. I don't have a stock ROM nor do I want one. I want to install latest modem / bootloader so then I can install an Android 5 ROM.
The recovery and kernel is stock ones so don't need it. But still you have to find a modem. There is a thread in general section.

I do love it when you guys make it difficult for me . Really, I do. I mean, you'd do ANYTHING to NOT post a link . I'm honestly not being sarcastic. But I am amused nevertheless. That's why I even started this topic.
I hope somebody will have the mercy to REALLY read what I ask and come up with a good answer, not vaguely-interested pointers into some vague direction.
I appreciate the time spent here by anybody, I've donated to this community and will gladly continue to do so! You guys rock. And I do appreciate even the vaguely-interested replies .

No worries bro.
You don't need to bother about these two files. Because, none of these is of your use. You are going to try a different ROM from the stock. Hence, you don't need to install Stock Kernel and Recovery. You need custom kernel which either comes with the ROM or you have to adopt a different one according to your need. As you have rooted your phone, you just need to install TWRP Manager from Play store to update your recovery, give it root access and install 2.8.7.0 recovery which is totally reliable at this point. I think it is explanatory enough

Im a little unsure about your question, so ill try to answer best I can.
Yes this can be flashed with any rom, rom doesnt matter, this is flashed in Odin! It updates your Bootloader and Modem! BUT you must pay attention to what your ROM states. Some ROMS dont work Good with certain Firmware.
About the baseband, This would update it.
Since Im new to the N910T model, Im unsure about the downgrade procedure. So You might want to check that your model can be downgraded back to DOK2 once you update. Just in case your rom dont play nice with new Firmware!!
Hope this answered your question! I added install directions to OP

I would highly recommend you start a new thread for this, there are many reasons why a phone could be doing this and you need
to provide more information, like what happened before the phone was restarted, did you have a stock rom or a custom rom, were you trying to flash anything when it started restating, were you rooted, can you boot into recovery or download mode...all these things factor but like I said I would definitively start a new thread because your hijacking someone Else's and it has nothing to do with the topic.

Yes bud, you'd get better responses making your own post in question area. As I'm not on here a lot. And only people visiting this thread are few to download this link. I just seen your post.
But since I am here I'll try my best to answer you.
Judging by your post, I'm gonna assume your were on pure stock and took an Ota that went bad? Correct?
2. If you used Odin, and noticed you didn't mention getting errors.
So it leads me to ask are you using this firmware here, because this isn't the complete rom. And that's what you want!
Let me know if this is correct? Plus explain more detail? Model T or T3? Last update you were on and file you tried flashing?
And I'll help you get correct file and such.
EQE2 Modem only on DOK2 base 5.1.1 Rom?
Anyone flash just the Modem as per my title over top a Lollipop build and get any better reception or otherwise results or is this a big no go?

Think u' re wrong, you've said to flash bootloader in AP slot (i knew in BL). Modem baseband is CP. AP is for recovery.
