Anyone else have heat issues with their 7? Or no heat issues at all? Mine is running very hot near the dock connector. Trying to figure out if that is the norm.
Yes, I noticed sometimes it charges near 38 C to 40 C. Is this acceptable?

What are your temps when charging?
Gets a little warm charging, not as hot as my g2x overheating when charging though. That thing is a furnace.

Just for future knowledge. What kind of temperatures are acceptable, and which are dangerous? My Galaxy S2 can, at times get to 38 C. Generally 35 C with normal use. Charging pushes it to 41 C.
Same for the N7. What would be a dangerous temp?

I just got my phone today but I feel like it is getting a little too warm. I installed system tuner to check the temps and seems like I am running about 47-50C on regular use. And it gets up to 60C while charging and It feels warm in hand. Curious to know what are your temps? Thanks.

I have been asking this in few threads lately and no one yet to answer. I installed system tuner to check the cpu temperatures and seems to be a little high compare to other devices that I owned. With regular use the temps seems to be around 45-50C and with heavy use and gaming it would go up to 60C. The device also feels a little warm around the camera area. I would appreciate if someone could check their temps. Thanks.

Those temperatures are very normal... The phone feels so hot because the back is glass.

Could you check the temps with system tuner by chance? Curious to know what are your readings. Thanks

Haven't measured, but mine gets SUPER hot sometimes. Usually when playing games, or like last night, I was on skype for ~4 hours. It get's hot, but I would expect it or any device to get hot when doing that type of stuff.

I don't own one but those temps are right in line with the average desktop pc. I think once temps hit about 65-70C under heavy load, then there is reason for concern.

Mine got up to something like 42 degrees C yesterday while browsing. Got the temperature readout using Cool Tool. Heat was mainly around the top / camera area where I assume the antenna is.
38° C max and that's when i m charging and using the phone.

Are you sure that is not the battery temp? It just sounds very low!

42 is not hot. Its warm. To qualify as hit it has to reach at least 50.

I'm starting to wonder if my N4 is defective since I haven't had any real heat issues. It gets a little warm but no more than my GNex did and nowhere near as hot as my Sensation was.
I had it in my pocket today and it was hot I felt the heat on my flesh I pulled it out it was hoooot idk why will get hot on idle

? Dude you have problems lol my battery gets to be around 45c and CPU much higher.
Not even hot. Get a case.

You must be looking at the battery temperature.
Use system tuner or something to check the actual CPU temp.
If it's hot when phone is supposed to be idling or doing simple tasks you must have a run away app or something causing it.
Also check you haven't left the governor set to performance or anything like that.
Hey
I bought my nexus 7 about three days ago and I think I have an issue.
When browsing the internet or watching a movies my nexus can reach 35c and when playing tegra 3/Gameloft games it reaches 39-40c is it normal? Happens to all?
It's little annoying and I can't enjoy these games....
Any ways to solve this problem?
What are you talking about, thats waay to low, my OC-ed nexus 7 can reach upto 70c and about 69c should be the top limit, 50c is usual temp, or atleast it should be when browsing

What the hell? 70 celsius ? you can cook with your NEXUS 7 LOL
How you deal with it?
well you know, undervolt for about -100mv, which is pretty stable, if necessary lower my oc to 1.5 ghz and it never crosses 63-64
sorry if i offend you with this question, but is it possible that you were looking at your battery temp, not cpu?
because usually those temps are from the battery, it seems just too low for almost a high end device (atleast it was)

Yes I mean battery temp
minecraft
I have had the same issues with the heat on my device. I notice it gets pretty warm quick right where the rear camera is and also the glass gets pretty hot too. I been playing minecraft and it heats up quick, I checked the battery temp with an app and it reached to 31C. This was from playing for about 15 minutes. Browsing the net or watching youtube doesn't have much effect but watching a video with the browser did make the device pretty warm. I gotta admit when playing games its pretty uncomfortable.
Even 40c isn't that hot for an electronic device. I remember my old Galaxy S 4G used to get a battery temperature of 52+ while charging and playing guns n glory in a non air conditioned guard house. Every so often I'd stick it in our mini fridge for a few mins to cool it down.
I would've loved to see how hot that poor processor got, but battery temp was the only one you could check on that device.

I noticed that my nexus 7 is hitting 37c really fast and around the camera front and back. Is anyone have the same problem?
And I'm doubting that it's the torrent downloader with the stupid name.

37C isn't all that hot for hardware. It's rated for twice that
37ºC is stone cold for hardware.
I wouldn't even bother unless it's going over 70ºC alot since in the long run it will diminish the hardware life.
Besides, I doubt a stock N7 will hit those temperatures even during heavy gaming unless you're living on a very hot place by default.
So, don't worry.
