So I just watched a side by side comparison on youtube of video quality.. the kid shot them at the same time.. all default. Iphone4 owns the Evo .. absolutely not even close. Anyway.. question to the smarties... Are our phones capable of that and is it a matter of time before a video software update happens? I've shot a few vids and not too impressed .. but after watching the Iphone4's vid it kinda makes me sick. I'm assuming our 8 megapixel and 1ghz snapdragon should be able to at least come close if not be possibly better. ???? here's the link.. if it works>>>>>>>>>>>>

No it's not. EVO just takes ****ty video...accept it...lol.
I love my Evo but I have to agree at the moment video quality is laughable.

I thought I could make things easy by just reading what others are saying but it's clear to me now that I just have to test everything out for myself. Another early RadioShack visit tomorrow morning. I'm going to test the heck outta the iPhone, side by side with the Evo.
One thing I have to admit is that Engadget's test video was nowhere near that smooth and felt on par with the Evo to me.

the video seems to be from that idiot pirillo
it is from that idiot prillo..i hate that guy
but that iphone 4 is a really nice piece of hardware..definatley the most superior phone hardware wise
Looks like the Iphone video is stabilized somehow. Also, white balance and FPS are much greater on the Iphony. I was not impressed with my indoor EVO videos at all. I really hope that HTC releases a patch to help out.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the SD card? the iphone has the internal ssd hard drive which might write faster. I was reading this article on engadget this am and it came to mind. I could be wrong, but it kinda made sense. Is the sd card that comes with the phone have fast enough write access ?
http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/24/sd-cards-branded-with-an-upper-case-i-are-faster-yo/
Something is up..... cause my EVO takes WAAAY better video than the EVO in that clip. Wonder what he did to it, like maybe loaded a ton of apps to really eat up CPU and scratched the crap outta the lens or something... I don't know but I know my EVO takes better video. I just took a vid of my office here for test and it looked much better and smoother than that.

Title Says It All...
They wouldn't let me take video.. We had to settle for some previews...
I can say this.. I tried Google Voice and it's not happening, no calls are going to be made. Now, @ the store we did ponder maybe it's cause we weren't hooked on wifi. Maybe with root and a push of the wifi calling app this could make a change? Here, only the Dev's will know. As for speed, its just as snappy as a Galaxy S Device, Honetly it felt like a big a** Vibrant but with flash..
Video on it was very good, once again like the Galaxy Line. The flash is very bright and works well in the dark. The video frame rates were smooth like the Vibrant line. As for weight, it does not feel much different from the vibrant or even the Epic that has a keyboard. My MyTouch 4G actually felt much more heavier (in a sense) than the Tab.
I will say that plastic feeling feels very premature yet prestine. By premature i mean that you can tell they could have waited 6 more months and made it a bit more metalic yet light. I guess thats just an HTC thing.
K, besides that, Tab lovers out are going to be THRILLED when this arrives.

The fact that anyone is still considering a Samsung Phone after the update mess reinforces my theory that people love to be screwed over by companies.
And the Osama is a good news bad thing.
On one hand he's dead, on the other it doesn't change anything for anyone and he will be seen as a martyr by his supporters.

Ya they can speak for themselves. I'm never getting another samsung phone again.
They have awesome hardware, but the software and cust support blows. And stupid things that should be perfected like registering every button on a keyboard or working led lights or a kickstand, shouldn't be an issue on 500 dollar phone.

@the Samsung part, I honestly can't really decide. The GSII is just nice, in my opinion, and I know about the update mayhem but the fact that we've gotten a leak for Gingerbread this quickly gives me a bit hope for the moment.
The Evo 3D is a great phone, and honestly the only reason I didn't choose it was because I like the new TW4.0. Specs wise, Evo 3D wins hands down. But just remember, it's all opinion.
@Osama, yeah, his supporters could be a problem, but without a leader still helps. I mean, after Hitler's suicide (even though it was around the same time as the war ended), his supporters seemed to fade. I don't know; we can only hope for the best and that the death was fortunate.

Samsung hasn't done much to prove that they will be able to put enough pressure on Carriers to test updates to get them to users in a timely manner.
Hitler's suicide was a completely different scenario, a country/regime cannot function without some sort of leader, terrorist/guerilla groups can simply fracture and are largely self-sufficient cells.
Also Hitler's supporters didn't so much fade as flee to South America and try to start a fourth reich, just sayin'.

Okay well maybe a tie.
GSII has a better resolution and thinness, but the evo 3D DOES have 3D, and I've seen how well that works xD.
Then again...the evo 3d has only 8 GB storage on the sd card. Dammit, I gotta word these things better. ._.
Otherwise, same similar 1.2GHz dual-core proccessor, 8 MP camera, etc

Evo 3D has a higher resolution.
960 x 540 vs 800 x 480.
Performance wise the Evo 3D pulls ahead in some tests while the Galaxy S pulls ahead in some, its mostly a toss up. The difference is nowhere near 1st gen snapdragon vs hummingbird.
I'm pretty sure S2 will kick harder, but Evo's 3D features + higher res screen + the fact that 1st Evo had one of the greatest dev-communities makes me think I will go HTC next time.. =O

I want to know the same thing....higher res crappy display, a chip set that hasn't shown us anything in real world tests, the whole 3D gimmick deal, and will be locked down in some way or another. The sgs2 is completely unlocked and is all straightforward non-gimmicky no frills hardware.
I still doubt I'll own either one thanks to sprints new upgrade rules. If I had to choose one of these awesome phones it would likely be the sgs2, for raw power and simplicity. Oh and the S-amoled+ display, that has 50% more subpixels which is going to make resolution look way higher......read the review its all there.
GSII. The sAMOLED+ display is just too much to pass up. Going back to a lcd screen would be tough. For me at least... plus I love the whole ultra slim design. I am personally voting for a keyboardless sprint variant.
if the GSII comes with a KB. I just can't get rid of the KB>
If the GSII isn't altered to much by U.S carriers I'll have to go with Sammy but if Sprint plays around with the original design it's the Evo 3D.

I'll be grabbing myself an HTC Evo 3D whenever an upgrade becomes available. I'll just use my 16 GB sdcard on my current Epic when I make the switch. I'm also a HTC sense fan, I started out with it when I made my entrance into Android.

Haha, I think that must be "A Dad thing" I did the exact same thing, I made the assumption that you're a guy, as I'm pretty certain it's only a Dad that would tell their daughter to climb a wall and jump off, for the only reason to get slow mo videos haha

Your right there She was quite happy doing it and seeing her hair go all over the place after ...until she hurt her foot of course.
Nice touch though - I cant wait to get a slo mo video of our horses and the house rabbit doing its crazy flips!
250fps? Did you shoot this with a Note II?
I thought the phone did near 120fps, and it slowed that down to 1/8 the speed. This is why when you put the 1/8 slow motion video and look at the fps of the file, it is around 15fps?

Would have preferred a slow-mo of the bird getting sprayed with lead instead

The 1/8 speed should give you 240fps, not 250.
Here is a video of my dog jumping, recorded at 1/8 speed.
I still think it's too blurry for slow motion effect.

Yea nice video but probably best not to have it open as it will turn into flaming.
