Did a search, didnt find them in this forum.
Is there a battery percentage? couldnt find it in the settings and i know its listed under display on ICS, but its really limited on JB
Weather from C* to F*. When i ask google now what the weather is today it says 21*, its definately not 21* in the bay area right now so im assuming its C* not F*

Battery percentage isn't a stock feature. Either flash a custom rom that supports it or use a widget for that. Haven't received my N7 yet, so I haven't seen any google now settings.
To see battery percentage on the stock device go into settings and battery you'll see the percentage in the upper left hand corner.
For temp units go into Google Now and on your weather slide click the three dots in the top right hand corner of the slide to access the settings.

i was aware of that method, but guess i should of been more specific. I want the battery percentage up on the right right next to the battery icon like i can on my ICS galaxy note
its in the settings! u will have a % right next to battery icon on the bar on top of phone
I had the Celsius issue when I first setup my Gnex. Google Now displays stuff in your native units. Meaning that if you're placed in the UK or somewhere by accident, then it will display Celsius even though you're asking about the bay area. It determines your location by your language settings. Check those, that what mine was.

I have no prior experience with live wallpapers before getting my Vibrant. Do any nexus one users or other 2.1 early adopters have experience with battery life and using a live wallpaper for everyday use?
My battery info shows that the live wallpaper only uses about 2% of the battery but my screen takes up like 40%, isn't there some sort of connection?
What is your question?
-bZj
I'm using the "Ocean Waves" live wallpaper and haven't had any problems with short battery life or low system resources because of it. It's fun to play with and great for showing off to people and has made one iPhone 4 user actually hang his head in shame after talking about how great it was that he can have a background on his phone now.
I use nexus works fine battery life is good

I don't know exactly how you find that info buy under battery usage, "magic smoke" set to red and it says my display has only used 9% of the battery... but I think that's not even close to the values you are giving...
EDIT: Yeah, that's the wrong stats... where do you get that info?
I have had good battery life with this thing so far (as much as I play with it), but that is only in comparison of a g1 I got just after they first came out that has been hacked to hell and back...
i like the ocean waves one...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I plan on keeping my live wallpaper. After using them, its hard to go back to static wallpapers.
If you want maximum battery saving from your wallpaper... true black doesnt use any battery. Google true black in your phone browser, save, set as wallpaper. I havent had any problems with battery from live wallpapers though..

what about new ones? or only stock ones available ? New live ones would be cool that use less power etc.
can someone please tell me what the little green circular thing next to the time on the status bar is, and what it does? I would have posted it on the Dev. thread but some guy bit my head off for asking a question there once.

Battery?

Guess you don't use the search button. It's a battery icon replacement for more accuracy.

I thought that was the obvious answer, but as I write, it shows 100% in the circle, but 91% in real life (in settings and Battery Minder). Thanks.
its cuase the stock battery icon doesnt show the real battery %.
If you search the Vibrant forum there are mods for this, with different kind of icons
I though i read somewhere in here that with the new JI6 update and new battery icon was included. mine still looks like the one from JFD? any one seen a difference?
Look wise it's the same, just fairly accurate now

ahh ok... well i still use Battery Indicator from the market at it actually shows percentage remaining...
The one thing I noticed and maybe it is what they meant. When the battery is finished charging there is a new 100% icon in the status bar instead of the pop up window.

Can someone recomend a good moniter for the battery. My battery seems to die really fast the past couple days and the stock battery screen doesn't seem to be very different than when I first got it.
I'm looking for something that showss me stats, not something that tries to conserve power automatically.

There's an app in the desire forum, circle battery mod for non-root users (it shows up on the left portion of your status bar) It works well if all you want is a true number reading.
If you want statistics for what's killing your battery, the Spare Parts app has the best output I've seen.
Battstatt is very nice. There's a free version, and a paid version.
A less convenient, definitely free method: Dial *#*#4636#*#*. This will bring up the Testing screen. From there you can go under Battery information and see a bunch of information about... the battery! Including percentage, time since boot, temperature, ...
Battery Indicator free is in the market and doesnt use any battery while running. Everything else I tried used a little battery up. I use the circular battery version that smoothtaste is talking about and its awesome. It is based off of battery indicator but cant be found on the market anymore. I have the APK but not sure if I can upload it even though its freeware. If its allowed I can get your a copy of it.
Edit: Here you go
You can download juice plotter and it graphs battery drainage over time.
I went from battery indicator pro to battery notif. Smaller size and same icon in notification bar but doesn't give much in the way of stats.
Plus I can see the battery level without unlocking the phone.

I also use that, it doesn't seem to hurt my battery any. The free version is ok, but I opted for the paid version and haven't been disappointed.

Is it possible to get the battery steps in 1% steps instead of 10%?
Would be nice.
Search is your friend. But since I hate people who just say that, I will add:
Circle battery widget does.
I also think someone is working on a mod to change the default display, not sure if they have finished/were successful.
I think DG said it was a hardware issue not software so booooo.

also a happy circle battery widget user, couldn't stand it in just 10%
I am working on an app that uses same method as circle battery widget. It will place the battery % in the notification bar similar to battery minder esk apps. It will NOT replace the stock one. Tho it is possible sooner or later.
I hope to have a beta out later today.
Sounds great!
A small icon in the status bar is much better than a big widget on the homescreen!
here u go, try this http://www.mediafire.com/?bx7w8kuhlfc8v7a
shouldnt have to many bugs lol, let me know what u think.
The time left in the drop down is still all jacked. I have shutdown time:-9:-50AM, hours left:-27.81 5:18PM
*I had a super Beta Beta version installed previously and i clean install followed by a reboot cleared this oddity out

I just installed it and it's working great, but as a future update do you think you can remove the small icon above the battery % number and enlarge the actual number so it is easier to read? Basically, make the % number fill up the status bar vertically. Let me know!
Damn u pauly lol, vinay, yes that is planed. I just did this as it was the easiest
Method to go with. A better method is planed.

I gave it some time. And rebooted. Seems to be doing much better now. Ill give it a day and report back.
*EDIT I ran my battery down to 2% and has a shutdown time 30 minutes earlier that the actual time. it was back to reporting -.29 hours. up to that point is was fairly accurate. it did adjust itself well the more i used it. Which is to be expected.
That is one reason am not too fond with "predictive life" it changes with stress. i can run it hard for an hour and show 2 hours left. then let it set for an hour and it shows 4 hours. so i pick it up and use it hard and it dies in an hour.

Do we have some screen shots of this in action? Thanks in advance, from the other thread too, hah
It works but it doesn't look nice and the entry in the notification bar isn't necessary in my eyes but maybe you can change that soon
Thanks!
any update on this app? is it possible to replace the stock battery icon?
