I've figured out how to pile apps into folders, but wanted to see if anyone can help me with putting together folders with general files.
I'd like to move 2 PDF files I downloaded into their own folder on the homepage. Will I need to add a separate app for this, or, is there any easier way I'm missing.
I appreciate any help, thanks.
You don't store any documents on the homescreen. If you use a launcher such as Apex, you can create shortcuts to some files, which you could then stack into a folder on the homescreen (and edit the icons for). If you store files in Box you can create shortcuts to any of them in Apex.
I can't see an obvious way to do it in the stock launcher.
You could just install Desktop Visualizer and Astro. Then open Desktop Visualizer, select an icon, then set the action under 'other' to launch Astro and choose your file from wherever you have it stored. A shortcut will then be added to your homescreen.

With all the apps and software utilities for different versions of WM, it's a bit much to navigate. I've looked far and wide for the following but haven't found anything yet. So...
Is there an app that shows sub-folders in the start menu like in WinXP (http://www.coolnerds.com/XP/StartMenu/xpStartMenu02.gif)? I organize my Program links and would like quicker access to sub-folders.
Casemon,
You can do this by going to the \windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder and creating folders and moving the shortcuts that live here into them.
When I do it, I use activesync and go to Mobile device, and go to the windows folder there and do it. Its much easier to cut and paste the icons where you want them doing it from your Computer.
Casemon, if you want to replace the startmenu with a cascasing menu, like in your link, check out SmallMenu

VJ, SmallMenu worked a treat and cheap too! Thanks!
Hi there,
Not quite sure how to go about this so might as well ask.
I have downloaded PocketPuTTY to my phone and I can run it by going into File Explorer and navigating to the file itself.
This obviously isn't ideal, so I would like to add it into the Programs menu along with the proper icon for the file.
Can anyone tell me how I can do this or alternatively, point me in the direction of a good good?
I've searched the forums but can't really see anything.
klick 2 seconds onto the exe-file, select copy, then go to your \windows\Start Menu\Programs directory and click into the white background for 2 seconds and use "paste shortcut" and remane it to the name you want....

Good day to every one,
I have been trying to customize my Homescreen, by having all my widgets with matching background, but I have come into a problem.
I want my "News and Weather"/"Genie Widget" to have the same background as my "Organizer Widget".

}
I extracted the .apk of both of the widgets, and have them on my computer. I renamed them to .zip and extracted the contents with WinRar. But when I go to the "drawable" folder, the .png that each of these widgets use are different sizes.
Organizer Widget background .png: 320x100, 480x150 (hdpi)
Genie/News and Weather widget background .png: 68x68 (mdpi), 103x103 (hdpi)
I just want them to look exactly the same, but I don't know how. I thought I would be able to simply copy the background of one into the other and sign the apk and reinstall it.
