Just got my n7 and immediately noticed that when I try to scroll quickly up and down a web page for instance, sometimes it would 'catch' my finger and stop scrolling as I'm flicking up/down.
Can someone try this test with your n7 and let me know if you're experiencing the same thing?
Go to news.google.com in landscape mode and then scroll all the way to the bottom and then back up by flicking your fingers quickly up/down the screen. Does it sometimes just stop scrolling as if the digitizer thought your swipe was actually just a click? This makes scrolling a pain especially on long pages.
Thanks!

Yep, I have that. Mine is great on first boot, but then after <X> - stress? Heat? Time? I dunno. - it starts to miss finger taps and loses fingers during swipes.
I think it's heat related (for me), as I just ran Quadrant, and it happened towards the end of the process.
Here is it working:

And here is after a few minutes of Angry Birds / Cut The Rope (not even a Prime95 scenario!)

Hi again all
Does anyone elase find scrolling awkward on the HD ? I find that if I am scrolling through a list of items I invariably execute the initial item rather than (or aswell as ) scroll the list.
e.g Scrolling through programms. 6 times out of 10 I will execute a prog rather than scroll the list.
Even when I'm using TouchPal to scroll between keyboards I more often invoke a key rather than perform a successful scroll. Watching all the preview videos on youtube, the scrolling looks so easy.
What am I doing wrong?

What do you mean? I have to lift my finger. Say I want to continue scrolling, I have to lift my finger up, place it back at top of screen and repeat the process.
I do find scrolling to be a bit awkward. I know my reply is sort of lame and doesn't add much to the topic but I did answer the question.

Suggest you read the user manual on the various finger actions. See page 34 and 35.

Is there an online PDF user manual?
Never mind, I found one http://www.filefactory.com/file/e314ad/n/htc-touch-hd-user-manual_pdf
i had this problem initially as the screen seemed hyper sensitive at first but the more i hasve used it it seems to have settled down and i dont have this issue anymore ما شاء الله
Just a little practice, that's all.
Hey,
Does anyone know how i can slow down the scrolling speed on these. Cause now the program list is not nice to look trough. When i scroll slowly and release my finger it shoots trough like crazy, nearly all the way to the Z... I have to scroll, hold for a second and then release in order for the list to stand still, and then sometimes i accidently activate the wrong app. SO where can i decrease scrolling speed and the time it requires to hold down in order to stop the list from moving.
Ive added a youtube vid to illustrate what i mean:

Greetings.
This is an replacement phone. Everything is perfect on it and it works great but I'm not sure if my trackball is working like my old phone. Please let me know if your trackball has the same sort of response or if there's something up with it... pretty sure it is but I really don't want to repair this phone if its not necessary.
1. It works great in most areas on the home screen no problem.. but that seems to be expected cause its really not requiring much precision.
2. Mostly on selecting text (in the browser because I can't find another app that lets me have a select text cursor) I notice that:
-It jumps around a lot when going in any direction other than horizontal or vertical when holding the phone in portrait view and landscape. Diagonal is always imprecise and jumpy.
-I normally have to sort of flick the track ball quickly.. IE move my thumb over it quickly.. to get the cursor to move.
-While it can also move it slightly slower it's not as good and I can't have my finger resting on the trackball (where its depressed a tiny bit but not enough to click it) and then move my finger around. It doesn't do anything (or much of anything).
If I do any of these moves outside of "select text" it seems to work just fine but the precision on the movement I can't tell because I can't see exactly where things are going.
I think I got lost in the froyo FRF83 thread madness when I posted. Anyone willing to try and help out? This just a terribly implemented trackball text selection? If it is I figured it would've been fixed by now.. update-1, froyo 50 and froyo 83 all have the same results in terms of behavior with text selection.
Hello
Whenever i require to scroll through a scroll screen, i noticed a delay after i start touching the screen trying to scroll.
for example if you long press the home screen and the list of widgets comes up, this list does not start scrolling immediately when you try to do that with your finger, a delay is noticed
has anyone experienced that, and how can this be resolved
Thanks
Try a lag fix

So,
I Have been wondering this for a while and correct me if I'm wrong (did a search) and this problem wasn't on the forum yet.
When using the gallery app, the scrolling in the root of it (choosing a folder) is Really inconvenient.. When I have my finger on the screen everything seems to fine but when I release it or do a short flick with my finger (short=short trust me) it looks like it sets itself to what it looks like a predefined position. I.e. The page doesn't stop scrolling where my finger released the screen, it very quickly pops to another position.
Anyone else having this weird scrolling behaviour? Only in gallery application!
Regards

Yes i've seen it too. Quite annoying. Especially in portrait mode it seems to pan across a few more columns than is visible in the previous screen causing me to miss a few columns while scrolling!
