Both, I would assume Samsung would launch them together so not to take away sales from the other.

Let's just hope they don't gimp the wifi versions like they supposedly did with the first galaxy tab. Just saw the engadget article a few days ago. I don't think Samsung had any reply/update, wouldn't necessarily surprise me... still, I'm not bitter, just hopeful for cool new gadgets, no bootloaders locked, underclocked, or otherwise gimped devices

SGS2 for at&t, verizon AND SPRINT!!!
I found this on pocketnow, looks like we'll be seeing a slab in a similar design on the big 3 carriers, according to pocketnow.
Quote;
As we suspected in late March, it appears as if Samsung will be bringing the Galaxy S II stateside under the brand names Attain, Function, and Within. According to an item description posted by etailer Wireless Xcessories Group, AT&T will supposedly get the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Attain, Verizon the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Function, and Sprint the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Within. Notably, T-Mobile is not on this list, suggesting that it will either not get the handset altogether, or carry a modified version -- as Sprint does with the QWERTY-equipped Epic 4G.
Also of note here, assuming that this page is accurate, is the fact that the case being advertised is model-specific, suggesting that all three of these variants will look very similar to one another and probably to the international Galaxy S 2 as well. That would be quite different from the original Galaxy S, which differed quite a bit on each domestic carrier, and probably speaks to a shift in the balance of power between Samsung and the network operators following the success of the first model.
Link---http://m.pocketnow.com/android/galaxy-s-2-us-carrier-branding-confirmed
I read that article as well. The only change I hope they make is having all capacitive buttons instead of the physical button in the middle, not that it would stop me from buying this beast of a phone.

Yeah, personally I prefer less iphoney look, but my main concern would be sprint/samsung offering me some kind of early upgrade, otherwise I'll be forced to pass.
On another note tho, it would be crazy if this plays out to be true and mr.T-mobile gets the epic4Gx2 or whatever they call it. If that happens I can honestly say, I didn't see that coming.
I sure hope the announcement is for the Galaxy S2!!!
My step-daughter wants a phone,a nd I would get to give her my Epic and get the S2, as long as the release date is not to far off

Yeah my upgrade is in August, so assuming there isn't anything way nicer on the horizon then, I'll be getting this.

Hmm, that makes more sense after seeing your post, wimax 4G/ sgs2=thin....merged= wiTHIN
I see now engadget has it and I noticed this case in question says it has an opening in the back for the kickstand. Now I don't believe we heard anything about the international sgs2 as having a kickstand.
So The carriers have there names trademarked for the new gs2 in the us. SAD NEWS ---T-Mobile USA is notable for its absence; that could be because the carrier isn’t getting a version or, perhaps more likely, because aesthetically it is different and the gel wouldn’t fit.
heres the article:

What do u guys think of the new names and wht do u think of no tmobil sg2 name???
That's weird that we aren't getting a name. Im sure we'll get one though.

Those names suck! T mobile is probably thinking of a better name or they are waiting for their watered down device to get done! Because you know T-Mobile always has to take something out so they can introduce a new device 4 months later!

We were dead last to be named, but first to be released, so I guess that's what's happening here. We are probably getting one that looks exactly like the i9100, just they haven't come up with a good name for it.

The names, they are just terrible.
Just call it the Vibrant 2, seriuosly is it that hard.

Or, it could be missing because of the pending AT&T merger... doubtful, but just throwing it out there.
i also heard "there isn’t a T-Mobile name because Samsung is expecting that AT&T will have purchased them by release date…
T-Mobiles SGS2 will be the Samsung Inferior <-- Sounds better than all 3 other names doesn't it. Sad but true
That sucks if Samsung isn't giving us a Variant because of the merger. HTC is still giving us phones(Sensation). Boo on Samsung if they are doing this.
EDIT: I will never buy a Samsung phone, no matter how good, again.

That was my thought, too. Maybe TMo just figures it's only going to have the phone for six months before it becomes part of AT&T, anyway, so why carry it?

This is horrible news. Samsung has to (yet again) cater to the unstandardized U.S. carriers. Just look at what happened to the Vibrant (correct me if I miss a few details):
Front-facing camera removed
FM radio removed
LED flash removed
Added a key with a search function that's useless most of the time
Added T-Mobile's crapware along with a unique Android source which delays official updates
I'm pretty sure similar things will happen with the Galaxy S II variants for the U.S. this time.
[/RANT]
Oh, and those names are terrible.

That review is not correct.
I just received that exact phone last week, from Amazon. Each Galaxy Note has a region code to indicate where it came from (Mine was from the UAE). This code can be changed to any region you want. This will allow for a stock upgrade to ICS, when it comes out.
Also, just like the previous poster said, you can root and put any rom you want on your Note.
I am running the stock ICS beta, from January. For me, it is awesome. I am running at 213 DPI which gives me the tablet mode look.

So you neither discredit nor credit what is posted on xda and Amazon reviews nor do you place credibility on the opinions or facts of those places above what you personally believe which is based off the things you read which may or may not have any significant validity as to its claims, which is still eclipsed by the fact that you take everything with "a grain of salt" that is on the internet, which is the place you have come to with a question seeking an answer.
I think you should meet with an authority figure who you can't discredit, in person (to eliminate the internet factor), so you can get the facts.
I know the perfect person, he can be found in a mirror.
P.S. stay free
It'll get updated to ICS. Don't worry. But it will be layered with TouchWiz. In this year, Samsung will not be stupid enough to cut the cord on a 3 month old device. That would be pure suicide. The PR nightmare.
Basically true. My conclusions is derived from all the information I've gathered with consideration of credibility of the various sources.

Well, Apple's done it again. They've been granted a preliminary ban on the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the States. This decision could get turned around... but with the Note 10.1 around the corner, will it really matter? Samsung's taken steps to ensure the the Note 10.1 is different enough from the iPad that this shouldn't be an issue.

Hi fellow XDA users and friends,
There have been alot of OTA leaks for JB in last few days. One thing that you might have noticed was that the Leak happened almost the same day when the FW was built. I mean if it was built on 21st Aug it was leaked on the same day. This might be coincidence but who knows.
If that was too easy to leak by Adam/Sammobile/farhyaab/samupdates then did Samsung manage to keep everything about S3 secret till launch date. No FW was leaked until the release date.
Now LH4(Build Date 14Aug) leaked and we downloaded, installed and reported bugs. Those bugs were fixed mostly in LH6(Build Date 21Aug) and there were others that popped up. Now some of those are still there in LH7 which will be fixed in LH8 and the probably Samsung will officiall release LH9 or LHB OTA.
So the point is, Google releasing Android updates quickly results in burden on manufacturers like Samsung who have very less time to implement these updates and then test it and then release to masses.
We around 2000 people on XDA update our devices report bugs and Samsung releases it's updates successfully. Now as we are working indirectly for Samsung, it should at least remove the clause of "Voiding Warranty" in case we flash the custom firmwares..
Your opinion??
I see Samsung as dealers providing flashing junkies with their fix. Has been going on since the S1 and hopefully will continue for years to come.

Haha, and we're all waiting for our next fix, I love it!
I see your point abouw warranty and beta testing, however while most of the people here know what they're doing there are some users here (and other sites where info generated here is distributed) that shouldn't be flashing. Looking at the leak threads, they're filled with people replying who don't have a clue. As there are some options available in custom ROMs which can damage your device like OC'ing, to me it's logical Samsung warns about warranty being void.
But warning is one thing, actually not repairing broken phones is another thing. I once returned a fully customized SGS1 which died due to being a bad batch. The service center wasn't making an issue at all, while there are some ways that they've could find out that the device was flashed. Maybe wait and see what actually happens when people bring in broken, flashed SGS3's (with flash counters >0) at repair centers.
As said if you want to beta test you give the samples to those that are capable .
Last thing you do is give it to the clueless .
Nothing to say that Samsung did not start out in the early days feeding stuff to XDA when it was a developers forum .
